Vuurdraak_ Beta Tester 3 posts 33 battles Report post #2 Posted May 9, 2015 I have WoT running in Linux, so I'm assuming the same stuff is needed for WoWS. The Installer runs, but what ever Wine version from PoL I try, I get an error that the disk is full, how ever 19 Gig of space is still free. This happens after all the patch files are downloaded. While WoWS updater is running, I can no longer create files in to the Wine directory where WoWS is installed from nautilus, until I close WoWS, and only then I can create files/directories again. I have no clue how Wine could be blocking other Linux programs in to thinking a non full disk is now full. I have been trying to find a recent patch, where you can download the whole game from the website for offline updating, but i can't find anything. I have no idea what is going on. Vuurdraak_ Beta Tester 3 posts 33 battles Report post #3 Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) I cheated and installed the game in Windows 7, on a for Linux accessible NTFS drive. I had to re-install all over again, as even Windows wasn't able to finish the halve finished Linux install. Wine 1.7.31-CSMT-3f0bf73 from PoL is able to run the game at highest settings, 16 to 60 fps. Using an AMD Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.5Ghz, 12GB RAM & Geforce 660 GTX on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS 32bit I have set max settings for everything but Sea Rendering Quality & Reflections, I turned Sea Rendering Quality to Medium & Reflections to Off, to get all the distortions away on the sea, and also Post Processing to Off. The Effects Preset & Quality and Sky and Clouds Quality seem to be stuck at low settings, when ever I set them high and go to the game and back to settings, the settings have been set to low again, the same seems to happen to Texture Quality, which is stuck at low. I get roughly 15 to 30 fps at these settings. Strangely enough I went back and forth between this post and the game and while in spectator mode I suddenly got 40 to 76 fps, not sure why the fps was down so much before and it's now way up high. [LEOND] kodos [LEOND] Alpha Tester 1,222 posts 6,575 battles Report post #5 Posted September 9, 2015 At the moment I am testing the difference between 32bit und 64bit wineprefix (because IE8 is no longer needed 64bit should work) Some notes: - newer (staging versions) of wine remove the mouse bug and the game is playable in fullscreen - the game starts freezing from time to time if wine is set to win7 and or ocean rendering is something else than low (new bug since update 4.1) - staging version with CSMT enabled increase fps a lot (from average 20 to 60 on my system) Does is work with GPL drivers? It should but fps maybe lower

St0osh Players 1 post 45 battles Report post #8 Posted January 2, 2016 I followed the procedure and succeeded in installing the game. However the launcher gets stuck in a non responsive white screen that shows the logo and some links to settings, pause, resume, play, ... What causes this? Maybe one of the winetricks dll's did not install correctly?

DuckHuntPr0 Players 13 posts 230 battles Report post #19 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) how to get fps range 50-60 on playonlinux ? computer specification amd FX-6300, vga GTX 650, ram 8gb setting on playonlinux Here is my settings, on much slower computer ( i can not get 60 even if i tried, but i get decent fps that i dont notice much problem) Linux Mint Mate x64 Wine 1.9.5 (chosen from PlayOnLinux wine version manager) With 1.7 or 1.8 from apt-get however, i get garbled sound and music. GLSL enabled and DirectDrawRendered set to opengl, all else to "default". NOTE: If the installing/updating often crashes during download and updating, go to WoWS launcher Settings menu and turn off seeding, OR better yet download the patches into 'updates' folder with a torrent client, before running the Launcher. (the .torrent files are found in 'updates' folder, as they appear). Every in-game setting on low in 1440x900 fullscreen on slow computer, Quad Core and dual nvidia 9600GT (Wine is bad at SLI btw, if at all) but its highly playable here imo, and yours should have no problem) Skål! G3Virus Players 448 posts 20,182 battles Report post #24 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Ever since 0.5.5 the game crashes randomly when selecting "to port". Now with 0.5.7 it crashes every time when going back to port, no exceptions. I cant select battle on because that also crashes so I have to RESTART the game EVERY match! Annoying as hell. EVERY PATCH the game gets more and more broken under wine. One or more patches and it wont run any more. Currently running Wine staging 1.9.11 on Gentoo Linux amd64. A linux port is DESPERATELY NEEDED WG! Edited June 23, 2016 by G3Virus
[LEOND] kodos [LEOND] Alpha Tester 1,222 posts 6,575 battles Report post #25 Posted June 27, 2016 At the moment I try to what exactly causes this error. It is related to .net 3.5 (you need wine 1.5.18 or lower to install it correctly) and with the setup of ingame settings. It need more testing, but it seems that deactivating post processing causes the "out of memory error" (at least the one that appears every single match). (did not play any low tier games with PP enabled to see if "Big Race" Map is still black with wine 1.9.X)
