No. Their conclusion would be "there are too few cruisers, how can we buff BBs to fix that?"

 

No, seriously, I try to complete the last stage of weekly mission (cruiser required, just had a game with all conditions other than the 200 ribbons met -_- ) and it's really painful compared to either a BB (I'm big, I have big guns, nobody can hurt me) or a torp-based DD (big dumb BBs to hunt everywhere)...

I have uninstalled this crap right after the new stupid update, eventhough i have premium time of 28 days. I will install again in 2 weeks only for league of the sea organisation and probably uninstall later again. As a cruiser and destroyer captain, i think i am not wanted by wargaming.

How DD captains have a problem with lots of BB in game, I will never understand. And in most cruisers I farm sweet BB tears as well.

Yes, DDs should love it, if a lot BBs in a match. But if you are not a russian DD than it is a big NO. A BB can hit anything reliably at 10 km. They can do it even at further ranges. But can not say the same for DDs. Your main damage output namely the torpedos are very easy to dodge, not reliable at all, they are simply crap. Good luck if you fire your guns, if you are not russion. They are slow, after armor buff (actually a nerf) they get penetration damage, they lose a lot of speed while turning. They always have to risk the ship to do something and they usually die while trying. They are being punished so hard for trying something, even for caping.

 

Cruisers? You have to keep distance, be a coward. Because a BB can pen you no matter what. All cruisers should do that otherwise you have no chance to survive.

 

Seems totally balanced to me.

WG2: "Hey. I heard DD players like it. If there are many BB's to kill"

WG1: "Ok, so we need to buff BB's, so that we have  more of them for DD's to kill?"

WG2: "Hmm yeah, that should work... but how do we buff them?"

WG1: "Well, I suppose DD players need to find them first, so we need to make BB concealment worse.."

WG2: "How do you want to do that?"

WG1: "Well... if we increase their weaponrange, they should have worse debuff, right?"

WG2; "Yeah, true... let's do that!"

I do want more BBs in tech tree. Hell, make it double line at t4-6 for RN and USN BBs.

I'd be willing to tolerate those BB games if it meant more mid tier BBs to put in my port.

There are more BBs lines yet to be implemented into the game than there are in the game.

IMO. While Japanese main line DDs are not in a good place right now nor are they easy, I am not sure they are that bad.  Almost.  

 

For me, the biggest problem with Japanese torpedoes is detection range; and the fact that WG has added so many thing to detect them and the DD.  SO says you need to get close and be aggressive, yet WG add lots of things to the game to force you not to be.

 

Lots of BBs means less CA/CL and DDs.  So more BBs the better.  :)

I got my best results with them, it's a question of chosing a ship you can get on with and which allows you to develop the playstyle you want, then gear her up with mods and captain skills.

 

Originally I was very focused on the USN DD line mainly for the aura of their achievements during WWII, i wanted a Fletcher at all cost but guess what? I hate the Fletcher as much as i hated the Atlanta, and personally i hate even the idea of using a radar on a DD.

 

So instead i decided to focuse on learning how to use the Kagero properly, but as far as i'm concerned, it's the end of my love affair with USN DDs or anything remotely geared up as bias gunship... IJN DDs are good.

 

And since it's the right topic, MORE BBs = MORE targets.

Been playing the kagero recently, since it can't stealth fire anymore ive changed my play style. Used to sit ~10km away and use torps and stealth fire, I got ok results but nothing marvelous.

 

With no more stealth fire I swapped to a torps 99% option, and sneaked as close as possible. Launching from 5.5km broadside of a target you get a lot more hits. The torps still get spotted early, but that means theres only the reaction time for them to move in, rather than any unfortunate course changes while the torps are enroute. Most tier 8+ BB cant react that quickly and you aim the second volley at where they'll be if the dodge.

 

So for me when in an IJN DD lots of BB = lots of targets and less radar/6 min spotters/HAS. In terms of game balance its out of whack and should he corrected, but for me in an IJN DD its the land of opportunity.

 

Maybe it'll change at tier 9/X I just got the yugamo but its still stock atm. However the tier 8 kagero has been the most fun for me over the last few days

Weirdly I have seen the same thing as well. 50% BBs in 1 match.

The weirdest matchup was only 2 tier 8 BBs and 2 DDs in total in a tier 10 match. Rest were all CA's.

Yesterday i had 2 battles in tier 6 where there was no BBs at all, only cruisers and DDs.
