Hello Guys,

Well if i would say this as a kind of Single application i would say. "Im the Chat, im Single... lonely and im looking for a Moderator with some Manners to make my Life a lot easier.

as some Players already figured out, we are missing some Moderators of the Battle Results and Discussion / Questions and In Game Problems. So im starting up this Topic here to ask Wargaming, if its possible to employ or set up some Moderators for World of Warships. To be fair, in the Past of the Game (for me it starts in the Closed Beta testing Phase) the Chat was friendly... but Things have changed, the Playerbase grows and some "Specialists" try to break the Rules and jump accross the Line. I know and some Guys of the Forum know that BBV "BigBadVuk" ( if that Name is not allowed in here correct this Topic Please! ) was one of the only Moderators in the Game who was active and communicative as well - im not sure, if he is still available, but if he isnt - i want to wish him all the best. Personaly i like his Words, while he tends to say "We are Sailors, not dirty Tankers - if you dont follow the Rules you walk the Plank" <- still keeps me in Mind to be a nice Person, helpfull or thankfull for some advices in the Game.

What i mean is, some Guys should draw a Line in the Chat with Rules, if they broke the Rules - they have to deal with it... So where they are? I know, that someone said already - we have other Fishes to fry, but this was about the Report System inGame and also the stability of the Chats itself.

In my Mind, we really need a Moderator who looks after the Chats in World of Warships and i mean not only the English speaking Version, there is or will be a Moderator needed in the other Language Sections (or multiple Language Moderators) im not talking about "InGame" Battle Chat!

I hope this Topic wouldnt be used for Troll Postings and such Stuff no one needs, so please Guys - Share your thoughts.

Sorry Guys, this Topic was set as "Locked" and apologize for my maybe bad English - im German speaking Guy :)

I second that, people are saying completely inappropriate things in the chat, and this goes on for hours at peak time.

no mods needed ... this hypersensitivity is no good ... people get salty and say crazy things sometimes ... simply block them!

Its not "only" about banning and get rid of Trolls in the Chat. Its also about getting some advices and helping Hands as well. The Job of Moderators same here in the Forum is not ONLY ban People

I voted yes... but mainly because I'm never in General Chat channel anyway... to many casuals

I rather socialize with people who can appreciate a timely rage about plebs in my team, about weekend warriors, and about the sun and the moon being out of alignment! Join the Forumites channel, we moderate ourselves!

I need to get involved with this, because I badly need help to understand RN cruisers.

I have this note about the forumites channel (don't know if it is accurate)

Channel: Forumites

User who created it: (Sturmtiger_304)  <----- important as you will see lots of channels

Password: play4fun

I have no info about using Teamspeak with this, though. Do you know of any addresses that can be used?  (Thanks in advance)

No moderators for chat are needed since we can mute peoples and it's more than enough (i suppose peoples are adults and don't need to cry for every bad word they see).

But, put moderators on matchmaking for peoples who break teamwork and plays poorly, that is the right and only place where moderators should be present.

Quite frankly, I didn't notice an effective change when we started having one, and nor "lacking" one now. Partly because the little moderation that was done, was so inconsistent and random as not do much to stop the common spammers or crap talkers, partly that WG did one thing right by having official non-english channels but mostly because the average player age is fairly high.

Those that truly needs to get moderated from chat are the sort that needed long term or permanent removal, and the only thing chat bans did to them was teaching them "don't swear again after a warning" or "swearing and racism needs to happen at off hours".

Yeah. I agree it isn't about ya know banning ppl or something for their behaviour but more about helping. It would be mostly helpful for new players.

I remember very well that at the beginning i had a lot of questions and i hadn't a perfect way to receive answers. Forum is one thing but having assist in game chat would be appreciated.

I don't think we need moderation. If we do have a moderator who take care of that, please let it be someone with a sense of humor. In any case I've seen you, myself and many of the frequent users of that specific chat break multiple rules. I would vote for instant bans on people who has google PhD in warships.

Its not about "remove Humor" from the Game Chat, its about removing Spammers, agressive Persons, giving helpfull advices in the Chat (maybe about Server Issues, Restarts or at least having a Contact..) because as i remember, one Day the Server was laggy. BigBadVuk used to contact MrConway and tell him the Server acts weird... and we get a Restart. Thats whats its for.

Well... Some moderator is needed. Because trolls are popping from time to time and spam the chat. And we have no other way to quickly get rid of him by just reporting him here, when theres no moderator, that could fix problem in seconds.

Now you have trolls literally calling for genocide. Don't you even care, WG?

its online gaming, no one does seem to care.

I tested this out one day, logged onto TF2 and begged everyone to join the Nazi party

the immediate response was "Yeah!" "Good idea!" "F*ck the J*ws"

:amazed:

WHY!?!??!

because online gaming

Totally agree, some People hiding behind their Screens and IP Adresses and throw Things in the Chat that are below the Belt and even below the "normal" Line. Im not sure, why they dont react on it...but it seems its more important to release the next Update with French Cruisers while the 6.3. Version isnt still running smooth (doesnt matter how many BugReports are in the Forum)But Hey, since i found a Guy with 6k Battles and a Destruction Ratio of 0,06% with Tier X Ships ... i still have the Hope someone wakes up and takes care of the Chat or Reports itself...

Lets say it straight, if you write something against the Forum Rules - you get punished for it. If you write something in the Port Chat, which is against the Rules...nothing happends! Why? Lack of Moderators.

I still hope for "any" Reply, but i dont even get an Answer from no where... just the Fact more and more Guys in the Chat asking for Moderator who could give helpfull advices same as banning Guys who are off the Road...

I don't like moderation as a principle. Because I'm giving someone else the power to decide what's legit to write and what is not. I don't like either all that sensitivity I read on various forums. People being offended by anything. I love free speech. If someone is saying something I find offensive I don't automatically think that such thing should be offensive for everyone. If someone is trolling I just ignore and go on.

Remember that free speech is one of the most important rights we have. Don't throw it away from nothing.

"free speech" does not apply to private fora. If you wanted to to sit at your home talking to people about cars, and someone sat there swearing and insisting you all should talk about politics, then you'd be very much in your right to ask him to stop or leave. "Free speech" would only apply if you had the police coming to your house and say that you couldn't talk about cars or you'd be punished.
