(also known as the Imp or the Impregnator) was already considered too overpowered to sell again even when it could see tier VI matchmaking. After it can now only see tier V matchmaking maximum due to the new protected tier IV bracket, that thing only got an indirect buff on top of its performance. On the bright side however, with the recent RU DD HE buff and the upcoming stealthfire removel, it's not entirely unlikely that the Gremyashchy might actually return to the store (since the Gremyashchy's defining strengths were the untouched HE which gave it superiour HE alpha and the untouched detectability debuff when firing, which gave it a ludicrous stealthfire window). 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

WG will put him into premium shop when they need more money or would like to increase the population base. Nikolai is sometimes available in contests and was in containers that many people bought at X-Mas. Saying it is OP and we "will never" it is just words in WG, and words doesn't matter. Well it was when I realized the posts that people got the Nikolai in the Santas presents that I began to buy them , well over 100 EUR spent, mostly on the 5 EUR and I got the Nikolai not the Gremy. So it was a nice marketing trick to buy these packages, the Tirpitz , LoYang and Anshan and hundreds of camos/flags that I recieved on all the others is Another thing, but they are useful. I would never have bought so many if the chance to get these rare ships (Nikolai and Grem) was not there. However I doubt that I would buy the same amount of packages for other ships, maybe if they would store Kitikami Iwaki Alpha Flints etc that is hopeless to get otherwise (or are removed), it is the collector in me that speaks. Make it special, a bit OP (althought the 59 ain't all that no more) and they'll be able to use it for special giveaways, awards, supercontainers and whatnot. I well know her Pos points its just not consistant you need a team that dont fold instantly but dont lolwhipe the enemy either to do great in her. I just dont consider her a very fun ship. Yubari is much more fun for me even if she isnt exactly strong doing her thing. You just never feel "oh well the enemy is retreating before i get Into Pos the game is over" in her. You know how T 4 games usally go. Being slow isn't that much of a hindrance if you just go full steam towards the enemy. The ship is tough with a bow armour that is ludicrously bouncy and nearly nonexistent superstructure to spam HE at so you can afford to just go full steam ahead into the ball of enemies. The first three guns can also rotate freely towards the front so you can easily just reangle your bow to a target with only your rearmost turret having to turn 180°+ to get back on target. The Nikolai also has massive broadside weight 4x3 305mm guns which is unmatched at tier IV and V (though at tier V ships like the New York make up the difference with higher calibers, though yet again, the incedibly bouncy hull of the Nikolai can tank those). It has slower rate of fire with 35 seconds reload, but its guns are also very, very accurate (2.0 sigma value). Combine that accuracy with the broadside and that makes it pretty easy to land massive hits. Cruisers in particular are incredibly easy to delete since you have so many accurate guns to just smack a steelwall right into them. The ship is also quite stealthy. The fact it had no effective AA at all was pretty much the only thing that kept it in check (provided there was a CV in the game) as airstrikes were the only real threat against a halfway decently played Nikolai ... now with CVs being relegated to autodrops only (which are easy to evade, even in BBs), the Nikolai has effectively no ship that can match it unless someone gets the drop on it (something which isn't easy if the player is competent). Iirc, they removed it because they were afraid of this tank becoming so popular that it would screw over the TV - TVII matchmaking, not because it was overperforming. Should the Belfast become as popular as the E25 once was, WG will remove her for sure. Despite all scare mongering on the Forums, the sale had little to no effect on MM or game outcomes, so this could mean that we'd see the E25 return once a year. The Pz2-J isn't as OP as it once was, as these tiers are saturated with professional seal clubbers anyway and most of them use their Gold ammo equipped seal clubbing tools. The price tag prevents it from becoming a major problem in these tiers, which i consider to be a good thing. The Type 59 is only a issue when in a Platoon, otherwise it's very situational. The introduction of new pretty strong Premium tanks made it almost a candidate for a buff...at least according to most Type 59 owners. ^^ Powercreep ftw. None of these apply to the ImpNik, a ship that has "OP" in its decription, and i doubt WG will put it on sale ever. Considering it's cheap as dirt, has a well known reputation it could become a major issue should it ever goes on sale. Skybuck is dutch, Milky is Scottish. but he was in the dingers, so that explains a lot... as we seem to be sharing xmas box stories, i had the nik already, and bought 3x 3 euro which gave me the gremy and sims, then bought 10x 3 euro which gave me 2x prinz eugen's (+ 3x 1500 goldz) not bad considering the only other regularish prems i didn't have are the krasny and yubari (thank gawd i didn't get them)...
