If you really want to make the 32 plane screenshot consistent with the 28 plane illustration, then you get

2x4 fighters

2x5 torpedo bombers

2x5 dive bombers

without AS.

But I don't think the illustration is trustworthy.

edit:

Oh, El2azer figured it out before me...

Lower tier squadrons means slower squadron, means you get outmicro'd pretty badly. I've hated playing T6 planes on Hiryu vastly because of this so I doubt I'd pay anything to do it again.

Anyway I've hated every T7 I went across except the Nagato so I guess this tier isn't meant for me ^^

I'm more inclined to :

2 x 5 fighters + 2 x 5 torpedo bombers + 2 x 4 dive bombers

The small fighters in front in the render are clearly the Zeros.

But it's not certain until we see screenshots from the game anyway, so there's no point arguing about it.

As for the difference between T6/T7 planes:

Fighters - Speed | DPS | Loadout | HP

Mitsubishi A6M2        162    44    60    1,210

Mitsubishi A6M5c      162    57    46    1,410

TB - DMG | Speed | HP

Nakajima B5N2        8,567    129    1,210

DB - DMG | Speed | HP

Aichi D3A1        4,600    129    1,210

Aichi D3A2        4,600    139    1,400

= significantly worse fighters, same torpedo bombers, slightly slower and squishier DB.

If you consider that you get 25% more torpedoes and 20% more bombs, you essentially trade fighter quality for significantly more powerful strikes.

At T7 you can also still snipe carriers if the map is on the small side. This looks like an amazing seal clubber.

I just follow the fact that they always put fighters in the back regardless CV. And the ones in the back are look like zeros too.

The potato harvest will start soon...

A high but squishy amount of planes in bad hands is going to do wonders for CV play :amazed:

They look clearly different to me.

- Zeroes have a visibly smaller wingspan

- Zeroes have straight leading edges, not parabolic like Vals

- Zeroes have the tail wings offset to the front, Vals don't

All of this is consistent with the planes in front being Zeros.

And shoot APs...

I'm more afraid that Lesta will contrive to give 200mm secondaries like 4km range.

But yeah AP would be bad too.

Hope they don't stick to the crap idea of a reverse saipan. With lots of low tier planes ... while managable for good players, noobs will just fail even harder in this ship. Don't feel like we're gonna see a lot of quality play from our future Kaga teammates ...

That is their idea....You have only tier 6 planes, lol

What are you basing that on, though?

Like, it makes sense, but what's the source? T6 and T7 planes look the same on Japanese carriers.

Same torpedo bomber because the regular Hiryu has T6 TBs, which means that T7 TBs don't exist. Doesn't mean that they are not total crap nonetheless.

They don't. The color scheme is different. T7 planes are green, while T6 fighters and DBs are white as on the illustration.

(That is ofc we assume the illustration is accurate in the first place)

More saturated version of the screenshot:

The planes left are clearly green (Kates?) and the planes in the middle (Vals?) are clearly white/orange-y.

So yes. T6.

be sure , its get nerfed on test , like saipan

I'm not so sure.

It has all t6 planes. they will take long to rearm and reload (extra planes in some of the squad plus slower flight times)

It may have more of the same tier TB than the current T7 IJN cv but it will have lower tier fighters .

Although I think It will be a very good CV I don't think it will be too OP when compared to the Saipan in its current state.

Looking forward to getting this but If there are noobs in it they will get punished . Pluss I can guess it will be insane to farm experience by shooting down 90 planes in a game! With the new reward system.

It is funny that they removed second torpedo squad of US CV and now they give Kaga two 5 torpedo bombers squad. Typical WG...

Its not a US torpedo squad  Its an IJN one.

So:

The torps do less damage than the US ones.

The planes are T6, so slower.

YES I know the IJN cv has 1 plane less in a squad but this has weaker fighters too.
