As the title says. Is this true??

 

 

If it is,why on earth is the ship with longest confirmed hit on a moving target at almost 24000 metres suffering with a range of 16.3km... New York at tier 5 gets such a buff even tho it has stock almost the same range as Warspite.. There are even cruisers at tier 5 with around the same range! At least give Warspite the opportunity to mount the range module! At Tier 6 she should at least be on par with New Mexico! This is simply stupid!

I couldn't agree more.

I'm sure great players like Flamu, Aeroon and Notser still have great games in Warspite, but we are not all that skilled.

I feel tricked into buying this ship,I had no idea her range was so sad.

Kirov have better range, so does konigsberg, tier 5 cruisers for crying out loud.

 

Bayern have 17.7 km, while warspite only has 16.3km.Same caliber almost.

And she is very easy to citadel, in fact she was one of the mightiest battleships in the world.:rolleyes:

because whole game in this aspect is scaled down - greatly.

 

for example such Yamato if memory serves had main battery gun range well over 40km in real live and last time I checked in the game it had slightly over a half of that range.....

 

EDIT: if you want to refer to real life numbers in a discuss of game balance remember that japanese had torpedo hits scored from a distances that woudl roughtly translate into.... I launched the spread on this guy half the map away and some of this managed to hit the guy on the next map

That is not the point... The point is that she has to low range ingame... Cruisers have longer than Warspite... Warspite had effective firing range at 30000 metres in reallife,so ofcourse it is downscaled... But 16.3 is to short for Warspite... if they're not gonna buff the range buff her armor so it is possible to brawl then... She takes more damage than cruiser at up to 15 km range... i have no idea how many times i have been citadeled from the front in Warspite!

​Well at around 36-38 kn for 40 km seting then again most ships moved at around 15 kn in most cases and Long Lances were practical invisible.

Yeah Warspite is so weak and underpowered, a snub like me can only manage 69% wr in her. That's a whole 11% lower then someone really good like Flamu :(

Ollie1982 is completely right.Warspite captains are forced to play like German battleships, but do not have armor to do that.

So you have to close to within 16 km,and in that time you have lost at least half your hp.

 

And as a floating citadel, you take too much damage too fast.

It is completely ridicilous that tier 5 cruisers have better range.

 

I guess this tells a lot about WG.................

What do you have against the British?Well you are Russian so................

130+ games I think in the old lady but only a handful in the last few months, not fun at all these days and needs a bit of help. Maybe if she had been loaned to Russia we would have a Stronk ship!

Dude... Ofcourse its downscaled, but If you are going after effective firing range in reallife and downscale it after that, Warspite should at least have the same range as New Mex. or maybe even New York. Warspite could at 30degree eleveation fire some 33000 metres,and Yamato could at same elevation fire some 35000 metres...

It is true though she currently she suffers from powercreep. Later released ships do have an advantage over her in many ways. She is slow as hell, turret turn speed is ridiculous even for a bb, and range is an issue, notwithstanding she gets set on fire a lot. Maybe she used to be great, but not anymore, apart from the odd situational game.

I manage 66% winrate in it.. and its not your performance alone that wins matches... it is your teams performance.. It is just not fun to play the Warspite anymore. Totally agree with what Shaka_D, Henning and Peoplescavalry writes.

Now, Arizona is more fun to play since it has more range so it copes better with being uptiered. But in a tier 6 match against Fuso's and New Mexico's, Warspite is a blast. 

 

 

But usually you meet Gneisenau and Bismarch, so that do not help very much sadly.Not to mention ships like Belfast and Kutuzov

I admit I have shortcomings as a WOW player, we cannot all be perfect you see.

Some people...............

Arizona is a really good ship, except aa defense, and that also applies to Warspite.

But let's say Warspite got 18 km range, or artillery plotting room upgrade, would you mind that?

Since several other premium ships get their range extended, this would also be good for Warspite.

Excellent point! No I wouldn't mind at all. But then they will nerf her on another front as her limited range is a balancing measure.

If anything the problem lies in the tier 6 matchmaking. But it is NOT the ship fault.

Also, yes, you do have a part in your WR. My 68% winrate in NC isn't due to luck.

do you know what was the reason for nerfing 155mm AFT and BFT? cause it was unrealistic for ca with small caliber guns to have bigger range than bb with big caliber guns. and then they introduced russian ca...

Because this crapwhining topics 'Is this true?' are friggin BS and it's been covered on this forum dozens of times before. People need to quit whining. 

 

And yeah if you whine and cry about something and you suck at playing the game I do find it laughable. Now if you complain about something like Warspite range ( even if it's old / 'been there done that' ) and you actually perform decently in it I will take it more serious as those people don't want a buff because their own personal lack of skill is causing their issue. 

 

Increasing range on Warspite would make her more enjoyable to play when being uptiered, but as I said they WILL nerf other aspects to compensate since the ship NEVER has been actually bad/weak.

... and we dgaf because this is a game. Or if you really want 'historical accuracy' are you willing to move to 3% hit ratio for BB guns? Nah didn't think so. Comments like those just show a bias which should have no impact on actual game content.
