[WGB] iJoby Community Contributor 2,171 posts 30,925 battles Report post #1 Posted March 14, 2017 I have come to realise that I am not very good with ships above T7, I may have a lucky game sometimes in T8-T10 and get a great score, Kraken etc, but overall my stats for T8-T10 show that I am below average. My comfort zone therein, without a doubt, is T7 and below, it might be because I have more fun with less stress playing Mid Tier ships. It would be interesting to know what you think your comfort zone is.

[MIMI] Kruzenstern Beta Tester 1,133 posts 5,975 battles Report post #4 Posted March 14, 2017 The only comfortable tiers for me are 3, 4 and 7. Tiers 5, 6 and 8 get completely fubar MM, with ending up as bottom tier being the norm. All the while Tier 7 gets ridiculous amounts of being top tier, and tiers 3 and 4 get nice and easy MM. And while I have tier9s, I don't like the high tier meta enough to really enjoy them.
SaxonHoliday Players 165 posts 5,738 battles Report post #5 Posted March 14, 2017 Most ships I enjoy are settled somewhere in the realm of T7-10. There are exceptions, such as Kamikaze or Wyoming, but T7-10 is where I stay 90% of the time when I'm not grinding out lines.
[SCRUB] Loran_Battle Beta Tester 1,245 posts Report post #6 Posted March 14, 2017 I laughed at that last answer (and then proceeded to pick that one). Generally I don't really care about the tier. The ONLY problem I have is with tier 5 and 6, or as I generally call them: tier 5+2 and tier 6+. Cause [expletive] WG MM rules. (even though I agree with their reasoning for it, I do not agree with the implementation and especially results).
jss78 Players 1,292 posts 12,866 battles Report post #7 Posted March 14, 2017 I prefer 5-7 in principle, that's where the basic style of gameplay is most enjoyable to me. However I find myself playing T4 quite a lot because of the far more pleasant MM. Especially if I'm feeling tired which is often the case when I play. T2-3 are kinda fun, but I dislike the lack of diversity in ship types.

XbodzioXplX Players 6,008 posts 7,043 battles Report post #9 Posted March 14, 2017 I just dislike T8. Ships on +1 tier to yours is better (in general of course). But T10 is peak of the ships in this game. So if you fight against them in your T8 you are in worst position. This is my opinion and personal feelings. Some may say tier 5 is in worst position. So Atago and Bismarck is now rusting in my port

I can't put that option tho as my stats don't prove that at all as well warspite is the only British bb at this point and most of my games are here. I'm sure this may change when I have some more ships to play with

Hedgehog_small_tanks Players 26 posts 163 battles Report post #14 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) 5-7 for me. I've Gremyashchiy, Fujin and Kamikaze R, which are still really fun to play at Tier V. They seem to punch above their weight. Gremyashchiy in my book remains a candidate for "best ship in all the game." No I have the hilarious Okhotnik as well. Tier VI we see Anshan. Super little DD. Warspite and I have always got along. And then Tier VII. Right now my favourite non premium IJN DD is the Shiratsuyru with that insane ability to launch all torpedoes twice within seconds. I like Leningrad and Scharnhorst. And then there is Belfast. Amazing piece of gaming kit. With a 19 point captain set up as per Flamu's suggestion I'm getting nice results. This is the best non reward ship in the game, tier for tier, as long as it is not completely alone. This isn't my main account. See Hedgehog1963. Given your choice of ships for tiers 5 and 6 (excellent un-nerfed premiums), and the fact that you are an ace destroyer player, then your views make sense. CleverViking Players 503 posts 1,982 battles Report post #17 Posted March 14, 2017 I prefer the 5-7 bracket as I've had quite a few bad experiences at 8-10. My dislike might be a bit due to the fact that i rushed one line and got to drive around in Mogami with 15.6km range against Yamato before I really got used to high tier cruiser gameplay. 8-10 can be frustrating and extremely punishing, especially in cruisers (this is not helped by the current meta where it's not unusual to have 5 BBs on each team). My favourite ship is probably Molotov due to it's incredibly satisfying playstyle as well as it being my highest performing ship (apart from WR ). I also adore Kamikaze and usually play it when I've had a bad streak as I rarely have abysmal games in her (also almost no WASD-hack on lower tiers)

As a cruiser player, the only ship that I actually like on tier 7 is HMS Belfast. I actually prefer the ships at tier6 over those at tier7 as well. One of the best experiences in the game I ever had was last ranked season, where the first handful of levels were played with tier 6 ships. Those battles were so much fun... When it changed to tier8 I stopped enjoying ranked and soon stopped playing it. But the MM at tier 6 is devastating, in the list I am currently keeping to see whether it is really that bad or I am imagining things, I get 60% +1, 30% +2 and only 10% top tier battles in tier 6 ships. As opposed to 50% top tier in tier7s, with 25% +1 and 25% +2... WG really needs to fix that.

[TNG] TheCoolBird Players 136 posts 2,171 battles Report post #22 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) I voted 2-7. But tier 5 isn't so much fun, since I have been detonated a few times recently playing tier 5 by tier 7s. But I much prefer anything tier 7 and below. Tier 8 is just pain I find, the few ships I have at that tier require me to put a lot in. The Amagi is fun, but going against higher tiers almost constantly is tough. I'll hopefully change my mind if I get past tier 8, and see what it's like to be top tier. I may just need to learn more though if I am to play high tiers, I still consider myself new. Tier 5 is where I go to get my stress levels down with the Murmansk and Texas, Zuiho and Kami, and the T4 Clemson is one of my fav DD's, The Wannabe Farragut. Mid Tier Rusky cruisers, Budy, Shchors are great to play too.

Raziel_Walker Players 463 posts 8,787 battles Report post #25 Posted March 15, 2017 T9-T10 for non-DD ships so you don't get shitty MM where you are bottom tier. T6-7 ships should be more fun to play though, how long would MM queues take if MM was limited to 1 tier in difference?
