Er, if you say so....

Yep, seems like he will be amazing help for you. Totally pro. Yep.

FWIW his 'amazing OP tips' revolve around 80% guess work, 10% strike ranger and 10% early game CV snipe where he takes dive bombers all the way around the map one way, and torps all the way around the map the other way, and hopes to alpha strike enemy CV since strike Ranger would have no hope against any decent CV captain.

5. Damage dealing (bombers torpedo/dive):

Can I add something? If you see a smoke screen spamming HE at your BBs, dont be afraid to drop torpedoes towards what seems to be the broadside of the shells coming out. Using the top down view, you can quite accurately predict where that pesky DD is, and 1 torpedo hit can be crippling. Also, the DD will most likely try and evade the torpedoes, sometimes in such a hurry, that they sail out of the smoke screen, and with your planes above, they will become easy pickings for your fleet ^^

PS: although I admire your willingness to learn CV play, and admire both your stats and you reaching Shokaku, I must reccomend playing other lines. Not only is WoWS more than a real time strategy game, it will give you more insight into what your targets are doing. Try playing higher tier DDs, and you will get to understand their likely decisions, the same goes for BBs and CA/Ls. The best way to predict your enemy is to think and play like them for a while :playing:

Wow ... that's a lot of answers :) I don't have time right now to respond.

I will just add that, from what i have seen, you can cancel a take-off command by right-clicking the bottom plane icon, if it's take-off counter hasn't started (if the take-off maneuver hasn't started). It is still useful when you have many planes inside the ship and you wanna change the first take-off order that you gave.

For example: at the start of the game i usually want my fighters out first so i can scout before i go in with the bombers. But the fighters have bigger cooldown then bombers, so if you select all planes and hit F, the torpedo planes will go out first - that is precious scouting time loss. But if you see this mistake in time you can cancel all bombers and let the fighters be first.

Or you can cancel a bomber take-off if you see that enemy fighters are lurking around, and so on.

Ty, see you tmr

You do notice that we can all see how 'valuable' your 'tips' are right -> https://worldofwarships.eu/en/community/accounts/531174385-SkybuckFlying/!/pvp/overview/

A little off topic but rather than start a new thread for a short question, I figured I'd just add it here.

I tried the Saipan recently with the air superiority load-out (3 fighters and 1 bomber).   I had a couple of battles against the Hiryu (spelling?) where on paper my foghters should have dominated.  But even on ocassions where i had three squads against one of their fighter squads, the IJN fighters still wrecked mine.   I had targeted each of  mine to the same squadron of theirs.   I had the relevant commander skills to improve dogfighting (including the extra unit skill).

Why did this happen?

Why did this happen?

So, Hiryu has 2 or 3 tier VII fighter squadrons which, I think, even with all the upgrades and captain skills can never beat the 3 American tier IX fighter squads! That is without strife. My best guess is that he had some help from AA below.

This happens a lot with pay-to-win players who go directly from tier 1 to tier 7 or 8 by buying premium ships (not saying you are one !) ...

An other possibility is that Hiryu captain has Dogfighting Expert - a 1 point skill perfect on Hiryu against Saipan, but even like this i think 3 Hiryu squads vs 2 Saipan squads is a more even match-up.
