Hate to break it to you but we DID get the Katori. For Free. During the Greant Naval Battles event.

To be entirely fair, EU already had the chance to earn Katori during the GNB event, along with a bunch of other low tier premiums (Smith was in there, Albany and Tachibana too if memory serves). Which again, was do-able for free, just like NA.

Well... I have done the math! The Katori requierd 38.500 Base XP. That all. And you can even do it in Co-op battle.

The last time we get to won a T3 ship, the Campbeltown, it cost us 50.000 Base XP and 2.000.000 of damage given to ennemy ship.

Only things in your favour was the 12 points captain given with the Campbeltown.

From what I have gathered, EU even had MORE chances to get Katori. Last time NA had the chance to get her was by buying the large Black Friday bundle that included every premium ship (except Nikolai and Gremy).

People getting mad over a ship they would never play anyways AND ignoring that we had multiple chances to get that pile of crap :sleep_fish:

You're not missing much, I got one via GNB.

It's fun for a game or two but it's slow, has no armour and is a sitting duck for pretty much anything.

The RL one got seal clubbed by the Iowa though, I wonder if they used HE...

Katori in the last two weeks has almost got the same average damage as ARP Takao. It's surprisingly good provided you can stand how slow it is. :D

I read something about Iowa only using secondaries on the Katori.

That's why fail divisions got restricted to +/-1 tier :)

Wikipedia:

At mean range of 14,500yds, Iowa closed with Katori and fired 46 16-inch (406 mm) high capacity (non-armor-piercing) rounds and 124 5-inch (127 mm), straddling the cruiser with eight salvos. CAG 17/A16-3 reports Iowa hits Katori with her second salvo. Just after Iowa's forth salvo, Katori quickly listed to port exposing seven large shell holes about 5 feet (1.5 m) in diameter in her starboard side, one under the bridge about five feet below the waterline another amidships about at the waterline, plus about nine small holes.[citation needed] The damage on the port side was much worse. After being under attack by Iowa for only 11 minutes, Katori sank stern first, with a port side list at 07°45′N 151°20′E about 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Truk. A large group of survivors were seen in the water after she sank, but the Americans did not recover any.

USN overkill :)

I played it more then once :hiding:

It is pretty edited. though but with accuracy module it's a great 'git gud at aiming' sheep.

I'll quickly jump on any EU injustice WG thinks it can pull over us but this really isn't one of those situations.

Even if it was the Miksas which I'm still missing but refuse to pay for, I wouldn't be cursing the vodka paper fantasy pushers...

I just wonder is it THAT hard to put missions like those at SAME time? So  no one gets mad about one server getting ship for free etc at certan moment.

Well, my "source" was a quite passionate american youtube video, so I'm not even that surprised I'm wrong.  Thanks for pointing it out though. :honoring:
