[-AWF-] von_Boeg Players 1,207 posts 6,812 battles Report post #1 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Just noticed that the NA server gets this event: Mardi Gras I Destroy at least one enemy ship in a Random, Ranked or Co-Op battle. • Must use a tier IV or higher ship•Once Per Day Reward • 1x "Restless Fire" Camouflage Mardi Gras II Earn 25,000 Base XP over any number of Random, Ranked or Co-Op battles. • Must use a tier IV or higher ship• Repeatable Reward • 25x "Restless Fire" Camouflage To me it looks like great fun, so my simple question is this: Do you guys think we will get something similar on the EU server? I assume that WGEU have learned their lesson by now and stopped treating servers different, so I assume we get this for Europe Day or something? EDIT: As the moderating team naturally can see, this is a valid subject that apply to the EU server. I do not think so. The last thread was about an event on the NA server, while this one is speculation if we will get a similar event here. We are much more sophisticated than the newbie rabble over on the NA server! As you know WG-EU is very well aware that EU players do not like being spoiled and would like to spend more time with their family instead of playing the game. Therefore WG-EU will not offer something similar to its paying EU customers. EU players are a serious bunch which know their crap i.e. that something received for free is worth nothing and their paying customers would therefore be up in arms and cause a serious shitstorm if WG-EU would dare to offer content meaning high-value camos for almost free i.e. for completing relatively simple missions. Instead these camos will be available in-game for purchase at 100 Doublons a piece for a limited time period. Also there will be three repeatable missions which reward 5 camos each: (1) In a single battle kill two CVs with a TVIII+ destroyer; (2) In a single battle score 5000 damage with secondary guns using a Russian T VI+ DD; (3) Over any amount of battles cause 50’000 fire damage using any regular British Cruiser. Stop trying to appropriate their centuries of culture just so you can get a couple commercial goodies. It's not like this Mardi Gras were in any way related to the christian based carnival festivities or otherwise european at all. And they even dare to say it's an improvement over previous Boot Camp... I understand they have to translate it into a hundred languages, but It feels so low effort... To add injury to insult, we know that unless there is a 2000 pager torch&pitchfork topic on a particular issue, they aren't going to do anything about it. As long as there are comparable things. This is a reasonably small event, so if WGEU thinks this isn't something for us, fair enough. But for the love of all that good, give us something else. There have been plenty opportunities for 'it's not an American thing' events, like Saint Martin's Feast for instance. Though that boat has long since sailed, as that was in November. Obviously Mardi Gras, as a named event, is less than common in Europe as a whole, but carnivals are bloody widespread, as are events surrounding the reason for the Mardi Gras (last night of feasting before the fast). Why couldn't we have something to celebrate that? And why on earth have we been given a "not European thing" excuse once more? It is rude to be treated in that way honestly. Has there even been a single case where it has actually applied yet?
