USSR DD split compensation

Right, this is the first split where some ships get moved up a tier of two - the closest thing so far has been the IJN split where ships only got moved down. How will WG handle the compensation? If the policy is really ''you don't lose anything you have'', then you should keep your uptiered Ognevoi and Kiev. What else are they going to do? Take it away (so you do lose something), refund the price and replace it with some ship you may not even want?

I'm expecting a full brief tomorrow to explain what the split will be like. Kinda hard to make plans now when I don't know:

 

- Will I get to keep my Kiev or will it be scrapped for credits/replaced by Minsk?

- If I don't get to keep it, will ship XP carrry over to Minsk?

- If the captain gets retrained for Minsk, will the skill points at least be refunded? (man I'll be pissed if they don't, that ship is going to need EM)

 

Ideally I'd get to keep my Ognevoi so I can get straight to the new branch without having to grind through nu-Leningrad, but I'm not counting on it. I hope that at least I'll get to respec.

No, you own the tier 6 or 7 rusky DD, you get the tier 6 or 7 rusky DD, this is fair.

And last time they posted the compensation on the mainpage some days before. And the only thing I remember is just buy all the line, you get a nice compensation.

it will , if you have trashcan , you get new trashcan cpt  + new uda cpt

No, you won't get the same captain points as you have on the other ship, it's like all freebie captains most likely 3 point commander. All you could gain from the split is a free captain retraining.

well it is only AVAILABLE source of info, beacuse WG love theirs little secrets (is "mysterious like Carpathian castle" saying in english too ?)

of course official info is better, but for people who (for example) leave for whole week is this info better than no info at all

nothing worse can happend than you will have full port of soviet destroyers )

(i starded line 2-3 weeks ago (i started playing WoWs again hurray) and get from zero to Tashkent (stock in port with Kiev crew - i liked Kiev a lot) - whole line was amazingly funny for me, i loved those guns (and hated that torp range))

I stopped at Ognevoi back when surviving the first 5 minutes without losing both turrets was a miracle, got back into them and now also have a Tashkent which I btw actually like... Idk why people call it the Trashcan, gun's are stronk and it finally get's semi decent torps

So , even if sometimes they decide to move Cleveland on higher tier I will need to play more boring ships to unlock Cleve even if i have it now... Seems cool.
Instead of keeping existing ships, but still locking those who are not researched they need to crew up something always, as usually.

You will get the new tier 6 DD (I think the Gnevny), your Ognevoi captain will be retrained to the Gnevny and the XP you have on the Ognevoi will move to the Gnevny.

From the Gnevny, you will be able to research the new tier 7 DD (the Minsk), then the tier 8 Kiev.

You will also get the tier 8 Ognevoi in the split side line, with (probably) 0 XP and a new captain with (probably) 8 unspent skill points and a place in the reserve. From there you will be able to research the Udaloi at tier 9.

Very, very unlikely.

 

WG isn't going to give people a higher tier ship than you've grinded beforehand (new tier VIII Ognevoi even though the player only grinded up to tier VI or VII). It's most likely you'll get the ship replacements for ships that are replaced (tier V, the Gnevny which got moved up to tier VI and if you unlock the Kiev, the new tier VII, MInsk). If you have researched the RU DDs from tier 8 or higher, you'll get the new ships in the split line researched too (so if you have the current Tashkent you'd get the new Kiev at tier VIII and the new Ognevoi ... if you have the current tier IX Udaloi, you should get the new tier IX Tashkent and the Udaloi in the split line, etc. pp.).

 

In short, don't expect to get ships of a tier you haven't reached yet. There's no official word as of yet as far as I know, but I doubt WG would just have players jump a couple tiers (imagine someone is currently on the tier VI Ognevoi and would get the tier VIII version, but never unlocked the tier VII ...).
