Honorable service mission

So after coming back from a break I've discovered the missions and finally worked my way through the science of victory one. Great fun to do, as it gives an extra sense of purpose and the rewards were pretty sweet as well. Wanted to start with the honorable service missions today, but looking at the first mission it seems you can not advance to mission 2 without playing battleboat? Task 4 and 5 are battleboat exclusive for some reason, blocking further progress as you simply can't get 10 pins without em. This feels a bit weird to me, as all the other tasks have no such restrictions.

Why choose battleboats specifically, when there already is an oversaturation of em and wargaming considers em a "specialist" class (eg. not for everyone, like destroyers). Wouldn't it make more sense to include a cruiser only task instead? And for task 5, why not allow to get Dreadnought in a cruiser to start with?

I'm all for keeping things challenging and respect that wargaming doesn't want to make everything available for the masses. Still can't help but feel rather disappointed by the lack of choice in this matter.

Thoughts?

You do not have to do them all. You can re-do them without reward, but you get the pins.

That's how I do them, even that with my yolo-playstyle spotting two DD's could be easily doable. :D

If all you care about is progressing the campaign, do the 2 or 3 missions which are easiest/quickest for you over and over. You only get the reward once but pins are unlimited. Later on in the campaign you have to do this anyway, as some of the missions are very frustrating or borderline impossible for not super-unicum players.

If you want specific rewards or just all of them... Better give in to WGs way of making people play more classes. Which you can always go back and do later at your leisure anyway. So if you want that Shinonome, ignore the bad missions or ones with requirements that don't suit your playstyle.

They are repeatable? o.O Must have missed that, don't think I saw any mention of it anywhere. Well I'll take it regardless, and thanks heaps for pointing it out.

I had to have it pointed out to me too, the UI isn't intuitive on that front. That little DD at the end is well worth it BTW.

I think it was the Graf Spee missions or something where it was really obvious, since those had three pins needed, but only two missions at one pin each, so even the total amount of pins from all missions were lower than the total needed. Thus, the only logical conclusion was that they were repeatable.

Only if you feel the need to complete the campaign 'with honors' will you need to complete all individual missions.

Some stages are easiest done if you pick those missions that get done while playing battles albeit slowly, like certain amount of damage or certain amount of XP and so on.

Yeah I finished the first tasks and saw that I could re-select them. The sink 5 battleboats one is defo gonna be on repeat :teethhappy:. 200 hits is pretty easy as well with pew pew gearing, so I'll just grind those for convenients sake.
