[FK] Jellicoe1916 Beta Tester 274 posts 10,234 battles Report post #6 Posted January 24, 2017 I'm sick of seeing posts like this, they gave her the 350s so it wouldn't be a radical change between tiers 6, 7 & 8 (so it didn't go 350 - 283 - 350) this is why there's a premium tier 7 with 283mms, it's called the Scharnhorst. The same weapons they are used on Bismarck class. But during war time, they didn't changed these guns. Now take some candy and stop pissing us off! World of Warships, just like World of Tanks ditches historical accuracy if it benefits the gameplay balance. And in this case - it is about the line's consistency - with lower calibre gun, Gneisenau would simply not fit the line's flavour - it would be a strange bump on the road. So, WG went for a bigger guns that were actually planned for this ship. They could give her historical guns as an option, true, but they didn't - for that purpose you have Scharnhorst premium. I suppose you didn't complain while playing previous German battleships, that are effectively half-fake - the refits you see on them were never installed or even planned, because the real things were scrapped after WW I - but hey, I guess having a viable AA is absolutely fine and didn't bother you at all. German tier IX and X also never existed, there were only speculations and plans about introducing the Super Battleships. Or perhaps you could take a look at US cruiser line and stuff like the Phoenix that was never built, or Montana battleship, or British tier IX and X, or Japanese Myogi, pretty much half of the Russian tech tree is also based on projects that were never laid down as real ships. In comparison to this Gneisenau at least had this gun upgrade planned, but she was sunk before Germans could refit her. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
