Even without the perk its disgustingly mean to basicly everything it meets. And gl meeting someone at T4 who knows how to strafe or how to manage fires. Either you like maps or you don't. Then you meet US CVs with air superiority builds which make you sad and as you go up the tiers, ships you come across have AA which kills loads of your aircraft. You really have to love maps..
_ramrus_ Weekend Tester, In AlfaTesters 618 posts 10,023 battles Report post #16 Posted January 23, 2017 I would need to test devastating strike capability on Hosho, considering it's soo fun to delete cruisers with US tb
[POI--] dasCKD Quality Poster 2,376 posts 19,148 battles Report post #17 Posted January 23, 2017 Tier 5 carriers are superior for seal clubbing. I am of course talking about the Zuiho specifically. Whilst you have to run the gauntlet of AS Bogues, you have bigger plane reserves and about the highest relative power of any carrier.

That might be the point at which I could beat papedipupi, strangers, Reyte, Poi Empire, and more designated CV players (too many to list them here, great players nonetheless) at their own game and just dominate the airspace... To me CV is the most challenging and most exhausting class to play. Which is why sealclubbing is so dirty with them. But sometimes I like it dirty. And damn, those things are so flat :3

[D_R_M] steviln Players 911 posts 18,566 battles Report post #22 Posted January 23, 2017 I think that they included CVs in to low tiers. The battleships at tier 4 and 5 were mostly constructed when CVs where still not effective and most of them fought during the first world war when aircraft was not a factor in naval warfare. Propably, a lot of the hate against CV stems from the bad experience of playing against them at low tiers.

[DUDES] Z_OnkelE WoWs Wiki Team, Privateer 1,795 posts 19,879 battles Report post #24 Posted January 23, 2017 I was thinking about seal clubbing a bit with the langley with AS Perk.. I have been playing T4 CV exclusively until now which started out as a method to fulfil missions in the past. The small number of games I did with my T5 CV (at least I unlocked all modules on the IJN one) taught me only one thing: proper cruiser AA is really, really painful. But staying only at T4 and finally learning the basics of CV gameplay made me technically a seal clubber. Regarding the said seal clubbing: it is quite disgusting to have the AS perk on any of the T4 CVs (it only needs a 10+ point captain now and it is equally bad for the enemy seal, if you pick USN or IJN). You will run into less skilled CV player a lot and they do not have that skill. Thus it makes the experience even more demotivating for players who simply want to try out this new part of the game. Honestly I thikn it is such an advantage, AS should only be active for T5 and above (maybe even T6+) to give new players more chance to catch up. It is hard for them to put up a fight already, if they run into a seal clubber without the perk. In the two or three games I did since 0.6.0 I have had one match in which I erased 27 enemy planes in less than 5 minutes. The enemy CV couldn't do anything at all! I do not consider myself a proper CV player but after any player learned the basics this perk makes it even more punishing to run into such a (slightly more) skilled player with a trained captain on top. pra3y Players 3,021 posts 11,390 battles Report post #25 Posted January 23, 2017 Bogue with the 1/1/0 loadout is the strongest low tier CV. No CV at low tier can really beat you if you know what you're doing and with dog fighting expert unless its a 2/0/1 Inde or 3/1/2 Ryujo they can't beat you at tier 6 either.
