I'm having the same problem which led me to select the "Signals and Camo" containers which grants me a good constant 500 free xp.

Don't bother with Try your luck. I got few SC after the containers were introduced (40 mio silver and 3 times 250 flags), but then nothing, so I switched to flags and cammo containers.

so i am trying to get a supercontainer for almost 3 months and never got one wtf is this i get those useless signals and camos

I suppose unless the supercontainer squats out a Tirpitz you will be continually upset over free useful stuff like flags and camo.

You're thinking Try your luck. A supercontainer is an occasional more impressive box you get instead of your usual ones.

Only got SC's in the first month when it was introduced,nothing since then,gave up on TYL after 120+FAIL.

Picking Signal+Cammo(wich drops everything else than cammos...),most of the time,trying the luck ones time to time,but no luck here...

(242 containers opened BTW,4 SC,but -1 the starter one,so more like 3,all in the first month,and meh rewards in them)

I got two total, not even useful flags but a shitty 500 doubloons, so yeah, it's obvious WG thinks any "bad luck prevention" system is a stupid idea, why would anyone possibly get upset over being the one out of 10.000 who just has horribly bad luck?

Didnt get one in my last ~200 tries.

 

What I did get however is circa 10x 4 reserve-slots for captains in the signals&camo boxes. I got over 40 free spots now and wonder if thats normal. I could run a hotel now or something.

You will probably get some in the near future. I gave up on TYL containers, maybe sometimes just the first one, for 2k XP. After that i only select the flags/camo containers. They have a chance of dropping as SC just like TYL (i know, %-wise TYL gives more, but what are my chances to get one?). So i just stack up the flags, and if i hit a super, i hit a super, if not, o well. 

 

Plus, getting 250 speed flags 4x in a row from SC is just too much for me.

The last 12 containers i got 2 SC...Its all about mathematics %....I got 250 useless flags of speed and 40 camo....Nothing to be happy about.

This is exactly the same as my experience with TYL's and SC's. The exact same pattern, still, some people say this is a normal statistical variation here... that all the good ones drop early and often, then the supply just dries out...

 

I have been testing TYL's for about 3 weeks now recording my results. It's about 3 scs per 60 TYL containers, and they contain consumables and signal flags, no silver, no Free XP, and certainly no ships.

 

Somewhere someone on this Forum said that the SC drop probability is 2% with TYL's, 1% with the others. Since a non-SC TYL typically gives you just 5 signal flags (best ones have given mee free ship slots!), it might make more sense NOT to pick TYL's but any of the other types.

 

EDIT: for the record, I been on Premium time ever since the SC's were launched. Made no difference in my case.

26 free spots and Steven Seagal lurking in the reserve somewhere, getting progressively more rotund.

I've been thinking similar thoughts about mine, although I have picked up 3 "supercontainer" flag boxes in the first month.  250 detonation flags, 250 of the chance to start fires, and 250 of the additional chance to cause flooding with torpedoes.

 

 

The usefulness of these flags while playing the RN CL line is somewhat limited, though if I go and play a DD line then I am sure that they'll be of more use.

The chance for SC is doubled with TYL, iirc. That's still a low chance. The math only works out over a considerable sample size, I'd guess equating to several month of playing the game enough to get 3 a day to see even the first effects. On the player's side that is, for WG it's nearly immediately due to to the number of players. If we take the next step, the chance for a SC actually producing the goods as in giving a high tier premium sheep... well, that's again a quite small chance on the small, but double, chance of getting an SC in the first place, so we're talking years before even a slight probability kicks in that choosing TYL significantly increased your probability for that to occur. Because double nearly never is still nearly never, just very slightly less so. TYL is the eternal optimist's choice. Oth I'm sitting on a stockpile of ~1300 speed flags and that number is fairly stable, despite now running them on nearly all my sheeps. Once I'm approaching any real danger of falling below 1000 I get the next 250 of them in a SC. Which is strange, but still just the law of large numbers. Our brains will continue to search for patterns there though, but there aren't any but those we make up.

I was pretty sure drop rates had been adjusted after the initial very positive response the container system got, because I got a bunch of them in the first 2 weeks, then no supercontainers for almost 2 months straight. And yes I get at least 2, but more often 3 containers a day and I've never picked anything else than Try Your Luck.

 

In the last 3 weeks I had 5 supers...so, I don't know. Random will be random I guess.

This is what my gut feeling tells me also, but the statisticians disagree. However, at some point after the SC's were launched, a few days maybe, not sure anymore, the launcher ran a quick update on the game. By quick I mean a bar that loaded really fast, would those be called micropatches or something? Now, I can't say what that was about, I can't even know if it had anything to do with SC's or not.

 

But the drop rate was not the same afterwards... :unsure:

I would expect the container type roll to be a server side thing, not in the client. Otherwise, it might be open to manipulation by editing the client. However, I honestly don't know. It would take a lot of very accurate reporting by a whole lot of people to produce some statistically relevant numbers, right now it's all anecdotes..

Haven't had a single super container since I switched to Signals and camo. However, the signals I have gotten out of them far outweight any extra chance on a super container but getting meh signals when the dice comes up white. Division mate (the lucky donkey that he is) always get the super containers, so it's just one of those RNG things.
