Why should I want to make my smoke screen bigger, while lasting less? Duration is the most important parameter here. Same goes for Speed boost. I don't want it to last longer, I want it to be even more powerful.

Existing modules will be much more useful than those.

The engine boost upgrade could be worthwhile, the rest are either too weak and/or competing against more important equipment.

Fleet protection

But the standard smoke screen is big enough to hide an entire fleet already. Duration is much more valuable IMO.

Interesting - RPF is still not enough. Smoke duration less and Hydro, Radar and Spotters up longer. Yep, I'm glad I'm having a break from the game for a while, looks as though it will be for 2 patches at least.

(Lol I said in another thread I've learned to dread the 'next patch release' announcement! :D)

Its seems to be that its intended for upgrade module slot. Or they gonna introduce new passive consumable slots?

Longer Spotter plane seems pointless, who actually uses it much? The angles completely mess up my aim and after T6 I always pick float fighter.

they are all mostly useless esp if you consider what you have to give up for them

It is good for Perth. Now you can shoot at 15 km range in 4 minutes

Possibly for other UK cruisers as well, since smoke-setting time is their major problem. If it ends up giving them a reliable second smoke puff, it might be good enough that some people take it.

Also, while the duration is reduced, the actual reduction is lower than listed because it's generally the last puff of smoke that counts. If available on German t2 DD (lowest duration in the game) the actual duration might even increase since it has setting time of 20 seconds and duration: 45 s. With +30% setting time you gain 6 seconds. With -12% duration you lose 5,4 seconds. So, your last puff should actually last ever-so-slightly longer (counting from when you start laying smoke) than it does normally.

Hadn't thought of that, so the smoke isn't only modified in a way that isn't great for DD, but it also helps Cruisers.....who hunt DDs. F**k me WG did a DD Captain do something to one of you in a previous life?

Ok disbelief aside (yep I'm gonna try to laugh as oppose to cry lol :D), I have heard that the smoke on the RN cruisers has been broken for a while. The Belfast is a pain in the arse but if it is given equipment to use in the game then at least it should work correctly. If this is why WG is implementing the change then I support it. I don't believe the smoke change will hurt DDs specifically, and the longer the smoke trail is, the more of your ships it covers. :honoring:

If slot 4 is the one with the propulsion mod 1 and steering mod 1, I'd happily take the engine boost mod instead. The rest look pointless to me.

The only thing of these I would certainly use would be the radar upgrade on Belfast and Missouri.

Unfortunately, this radar upgrade is only available on tier 9 and tier 10 CAs

To be honest its useful on the Moskva and Des Monies. It will last a century on the Des Moines.

The smoke upgrade is probably only worth it on RN CLs.

The Smoke Generator modification 1, and Spotting Aircraft modification 1, sounds like they would be a major boost for the Perth, at any rate?

You cannot have them both as they occupy the same slot. But yes the Smoke generator could be a big Perth buff. However, you can only obtain these modifications from Super containers.
