Nagato

Hmmh how is this ship? I am at Fuso at the moment with IJN BBs, but for me it seems Nagato is horrible and i dont have much interest on getting it very quickly.

 

Does Nagato have anything good? Seems to have bad armor, only 8 guns,, no torps and nothing special? 

 

I haven´t played it yet myself so im more likely asking how is it, just seems to be below average BB.

Shes awful at stock but the hull upgrade is an amazing step up.

And remember Nagato isn't a brawler.

Nagato armour may not be the best, but the guns are amazing when handled properly. And she's not quite such a slug as Colorado, so that's a nice bonus... definitely a good ship

When i first time got Nagato, i hated this ship, but i had to play it because it was only way to get to Amagi and further. However, my first impressions were wrong. After many battles in Nagato, I finally learned what this ships is, and why is it special. To put it like this, Nagato is ultimate trainer for real BB player, Nagato will force you to learn how to play BBs in most efficient way. And as you learn, you will enjoy Nagato, it will teach you how to aim, it will also punish you for mistakes. But most importantly, after you master Nagato, you will be ready to play any BB with most efficiency. Consider Nagato as very precise rifle that shoot slow, but when it hits it is devastating for enemy.

Nagato is not noob friendly.

I would say the Nagato is kinda BAD if you have only the Stock HULL (luckly got removed from last patch).

 

BUT

 

She can be a beast to destroy anything that is crossing her Path because of those 410 mm Gun's.

Last night i was Citadeling a GNEISENAU so yeah if you play her correctly you will be a very good BB driver.

 

BUT

 

You need to learn her first so it will be frustrating at first but don't give up. I will promise you, you will fall in love with her since it's in my perspective a better Ship then the FUSO.

Naga is a great ship but she has weak armour. Germans will farm you if you are not careful, fight them at medium range.

If played properly, you can farm High calibers all day long with her.

But needs a bit adjustment when coming from the Fuso, since the guns act differently.

Fuso has a lazy shotgun like spread, Naga needs and rewards aim.

cant brawl, cant sit bow on, its slow, strong guns but few

i really hated playing with this ship, thankfully now i have unlocked amagi (and i suck with it )

but even on the top hull it took me ages to like her(loved the fuso btw).

i sold her after the grind, and rebought her for ranked and played it to rank 1.

and only after i was nearly there i had to say i like the ship. 

 

as for "no brawler"  thats not exactly true, it isnt a sniper either.

its  "all round" and in "secondaris build" (all secondariesexcept using the aiming mod for main battery)  it does really well in close combat

 

i would recomend the ship  with the remakr that it can take loog to get used to it/love it.

She is at her best in mid range as her armor is weak and rng sucks in her guns.

She is crap, there is no other words for the Nagato. Any high praise for her is just wishful thinking / or just got lucky in the odd battle against rubbish players. It's that one duffer of a ship in the line (every line has one) that WG wants you to fast XP past. Play her and you will see for yourself.

Its the furutaka of the BB line, you change your pew pew for real guns, the accuracy is way better so you learn how to BB or fail and become a 20km away snipper. The Amagi is the same but with more guns and faster.

BTW try to read something about the overmatch, it may help you.

Gnesi is fairly hard to use imo, the guns need a bit of love/experience with the Tirpitz.

 

Altho it's one of my better performing ships, I think she's fine...

I actually kept the Nagato in my port although I am already at the Izumo. She is a fine ship. Quicker than her USN counterpart and feels more maneuvrable overall. I have her secondary specced which works fine as long as you have support and you don't go up against many higher tier ships or KM BBs. Else you can also use her at medium to max range (although less effective because BB accuracy and stuff).

I, personally, found the Amagi a harder ship to play at first, mainly because she lacks range compared to the ships she meets. But she, too, is a good but underrated ship once you get used to her.

Her weakness is armour. Angle it and fight in 13 (+/- 2km) km range. Like all other jap bbs she is beast.

Doesn't Nagato get easier matchups battletier wise compared to what it used to get a couple of months ago? There is quite a lot of power creep with 356mm artillery vs 410mm artillery and armor protection of different tiers. Did the ship get a sigma buff recently as well?
