RDF will stay in the client at least for the second iteration of the public test, this decision was made after looking at the concerns voiced by the community and careful evaluation of the test data.

 

We will have more detailed information on why we we made this decision soon and I am happy to try to address specific concerns and questions about the skill here. :hiding:

 

 

 

Anyone seen that DETAILED INFORMATION WHY THEY MADE THAT DECISION?

 

Please, if you did, share with us.

Lets see why they think that RDF is good and healthy for game. :D

funny: last week they said we'll hear something official on the matter BEFORE it gets set in stone.... it's tuesday by now and patchnotes for NA are up, obviously... and, surprisesurprise, STILL NO FRCKNG OFFICIAL STATEMENT.... probably will be something along the lines, "suck it up buttercups"........ :izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena::izmena:

You are generalizing, with all due respect. I am truly sorry you are not satisfied with our decision, but "listening to" does not mean "doing exacty as a group of players wants".

According to PTS survey, the majority of players are satisfied or happy with skill changes (with RU giving the worst grades, BTW). According to our own conclusions, changes are good, too. And here we see there are people who stated that changes are good, and RPF is not broken - but thay are successfully mocked and insulted. I saw that.

We absolutely heard and studied "against" arguments - and decided that "for" is stronger here. It is our responsibility.

I accepted lots of valuable feedback here, and many improvements/fixes were made thanks to this community! But that doesn't mean we will agree with all players 10 times out of 10, unfortunately.

 So apparently they ran PTS 2.0 because of concerns of RPF and the feedback of the Community, now they say the majority of the Community thinks its okay?.... alright... whatever

wanna make life easier with this for low-bob/no-clue people (who seem the majority of who did that survey?!)?! well, the ones with clue will know how to counter that idea..........

Just because you never saw an Alien, a Unicorn, a Balrog, a honest politician and Bob - the living turd doesn't mean they aren't out there. Somewhere.

So yeah, there might be one of those folks that thinks that this RPF is actually a good idea.

 

Edit: I just remebered that Aeroon thinks it's not bad, in the vid where he was sailing the Des Moines.

I guess they watched the vid, said "...only one who likes it, while the rest despises it...good enough for us lets keep it in."

The folk who complain are generally more experienced and higher skilled. We are a tiny minority.

 

The average potato won't care or understand and that's the people WG care about as they're the masses who buy £100 packages and lap it all up.

also, i'd really liked to know if they checked the stats of those players lol.... i'm absolutely no statswhore myself (private :P), but indeed from all the ones who defended rpf in the threads i read about it in, turned out to be somehow potatoes if i recall right?.... maybe just recall it as such now cause of my anger, but actually i'm curious on that answer. so, if one can check WHO gives feedback, one may should look behind to have a measure how valueable that feedback is?!.... anyway...

PRO aspect of adding this skill is to improve the role of DD hunters that is crucial to all cruisers and some destroyers. We expect this to be an efficient option for these ships, but definitely not a must.

Also, this skill conceptually lowers one of existing "I'm helpless" scanarios. Such scenarios exist in the game, an we would like to lower their impact. Here, I talk about being opposed by any ship with better concealment. If you paid 4 points for this skill, you will at least know the direction. Not an ultimate weapon, and rather a tool.

I am looking forward to the change of captain skills and that includes RPF! Yes!

 

And I am also looking forward to the time in three or four months, when almost every player recognized that RPF has not the game breaking influence as sooo many fear here.

 

RPF will change the (DD) game, but it will not break the (DD) game! And that is what WG could see, where others fail.

Even as role play, captain of my ship i could give ORDER TO NOT USE **** RADIO.

Yes, yes it will. Once the majority of players get the memo, they will stay back, not contest caps, not spot and not flank.

Noone will want to be the first to get detected, so there will be lotsa nice folks who will give others the opportunity to be the first in line.

 

 

Besides, ichase showed how to use this skill, he literrally sacrificed a team mate and this is not the new norm i want to have in this game.

Please tell me how your captain orders his men to restore health on his ship? Or why a Radar only works for max 40 seconds? Or why a full broadside of a BB can ever miss a ship only 6km away?

It is funny to see in discussions that RL-arguments are apparent ok, as long as they support your claim. Otherwise there will be multiple answers pointing out, that this game is not a simulation.

How about you start with what the positive sides to RPF are supposed to be? Because quite frankly I can't see any.

 

On the other hand, we'll lose all this (condensed from the other thread)

 

1.: The F3 torpedoes on Japanese high tier DD's.

2.: Cap mindgames with DD's

3. Flanking maneuvres in general (or running away to win a game)

4. Ambushes around islands

 

I for one will certainly not contest caps in my DD anymore. In fact, I may as well shelf my high tier DDs altogether and use RPF to seal-club in my Clemson.

 

Even with RPF an unspotted ship cannot be shot at.

 

Tell that to the people who've done that in the PTS lol.

No, seriously, I'm not nearly as extreme as some with my evaluation of RPF (frankly, I do believe it will wreck Team Battles and hurt Ranked Battles but won't be very noticeable in Randoms) but the general trend of wrecking anything that's not a BB is... worrisome. BBs got new tools to deal with fires. Their secondary build got more AA and their AA build got buffed (+20% AA instead of +10% on BFT). DE got nerfed - but NOT FOR BBS, it now helps their secondary builds! Oh, and did I mention that BBs now CAN - if they want - go AA and Secondaries simultaneously? There is a big overlap and they have enough skill points for both.

 

BBs got new tools to deal with other classes - and while they need to choose who they want to be most effective against, the tools to choose from are there. Other classes? Well, the anti-air and anti-DD roles were buffed with new skills and tweaks to old ones. So, those who want to fight against BB counters got somewhat buffed. The anti-BB role, on the other hand, got nerfed: fires were the only tool for many ships to deal with BBs and now fires got nerfed.

 

All this happens in BB0heavy meta where there is simply too many Battleships!

The best part is, that obviously, DDs are surviving for too long and too much, so now we need another skill to help the people hunting that DDs.

Now, I can allready see that all the BBs will charge in, trying to snipe that DDs, while ignoring everyone else.
Or how cruisers will charge into 6 enemy BBs to kill that DD.

Or how IJN DDS will gladly go to cap with their 800m turning radius and 30 knots speed while there is a 40knots DPM monster DD charging their way no matter what they do.

Or how you will outsmart your opponent by baiting him, and even stealth torping enemy DD.

OR OR OR OR OR...

True. But it tells the enemy from where to expect torps/an attack and where to look for.

This thing needs to go - fast.

Weird. I have done just that on the public test server. And If I didn't score a hit I activated Hydro and pushed into the general direction, and soon after scored hits on the now spotted target.

 

Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean nobody can.
