Oh man, you have a lot to learn then...

Fuso sh*ts on anything at t6, Nagato is a bit weaker tier for tier at t7, but still a monster, Amagi is my fav BB in the game, Yamato pens everything...

 

I don't think i will go past the Nagato, and only because of Nagatos history being the flagship of the Japanese navy. This seriously feels like i am cheating, if you have a cruiser or two to support you and just a little bit of situational awareness you are literally an untouchable god. It literally feels wrong, and brainless. I don't want to play the game like this.

Soviet, i saw your post about the spree and Tirpitz. Last page i mentioned a better tactic than angling, practice it. In my experience works better than angling

 

Thank you but i have already been doing that. Problem is it only works against bad BB players. A decent BB player wont just unload all his guns on you as soon as he catches a glimpse of your citadel.

Yup I mostly agree that that is one of the main causes. And it has a snowball effect which is seen in the current meta and more importantly mentality of new players. Which is sad.

FP was not and is not a flat decrease of 7/10% firechance, it is multiplicative.

 

Well the math is pretty simple.

Let's say you have an Aoba with DE (20% fire chance).
Also let's say we ignore the scaling fire resistance of the ships for a second.

DE is a 3% additive fire chance increase (so 17%+3% = 20%) which is why it's really good.
Fire prevention is a -7% skill so it must be great right?
Well no, it's multiplicative which means your 20% fire chance get's reduced by 7% not by 7 percent points.
The math here is:
20% * 7% = 20 * 0,07 = 1,4 percent point reduction.
So the DE Aoba shooting a ship with a FP captain will have a 18.6% fire chance instead of a 20% fire chance and not a 13% fire chance.

Now 1.4% would already be half as effective as DE but it gets worse.
Most HE spammers have a lower than 20% fire chance and on top of that ships have a scaling fire resistance that scales with tier (higher tier higher fire resistance).
So for your average DD spamming HE at you (8% fire chance) with your fire resistance (let's say Fuso 0.76).
So that DD only has a 6.08% fire chance shooting at that Fuso, now the 7% reduction in fire chance makes that a 5.6544% fire chance.
That's a wooping -0.4256 percent point reduction.

 

The reduction in fire chance now is still pretty useless, but merging the superstructure to one "fireplace" makes the skill very powerful.

personally i like the DE nerf, being as effective as FP. Imo it gave ca with fast reload and low fire chance too much value, and devalued the higher caliber ca as the bonus was smaller. That would make FP useful too without the need of buffing 

 

I dont see why limit fires to 3 is needed, if they felt there were too many fires, then they could buff fire resistances of the spips that need it

Since we talked about Fuso, and I had it in the port (only ship I was looking for from this campaigns), I just had to buy C hull, spend 900k creds and take her out for the spin.

0 upgrades, 0 point captain, 0 premium consumables, 0 flags.
Just good old naked Fuso :D

Ended up in a Two Brothers t5-7 MM, went A, and basicly their whole team went there... So I just wrote "oh man, this will be fun" and opened fire :D

This time the rest of them (that managed to survive) ran away from me, so basicly this all damage was done in first 10 mins or so... Ended the game with full hp, thats how tough it was :D

well, if the CA is properly angled, the BB has a hard time to erase the CA.

Unfortunately, when you angle against one BB, you end up showing your broadside to another.

And for CL,... just don't get spotted (which means: stay back)

 

Problem is that some things aren't right with the spread and BBs sometimes get tighter groups than CAs. Things like 4 pens + 2 overpens still is a lot for a cruisers and lucky montys deleted my MK from full HP without detonation more than once at ranges like 25km when I had help the other flank ASAP and thought a distance like 25km provides protection. The other thing is that cruisers are supposed to help the DDs with killing other DDs.

Well now, whatever the new skills may or may not bring to the game one thing is for certain.......camping at the back has become worse. And its not just BB`s either, everyone is afraid of being the front man/girl.

Just had a game in the Fuso, had a sudden rush of crapto the brain and thought"I know, i`ll push through the middle, that`ll help my team with B cap and also split the enemy forces into two groups" and after I was focused down by 7 ships I took a look around and guess what??? The closest battleship to me was 13.2km away, the closest cruiser was 8.9km and destroyers? well one poor soul was 1.8km away though he could do nothing to help.

I`m tired of my battles being decided by camping and long range sniping until enough ships been sunk to allow the "brave ones" to start pushing up, it`s tedious in the extreme.

Although I have been playing since closed beta, and have many many hours and far too much money invested  I feel the game has become steadily worse with every update.

Balancing has become a joke, how can there be balance when few if any people play carriers? The list of issues is long and varied, with arguments for and against each of them, but for me it boils down to one thing.....the "fun" has slowly been drained away.

It would appear that WG either don`t care, or don`t care that the player base is becoming more vocal of their displeasure at the direction the game is taking. I feel its time for me to also adopt this attitude and as a result I will still play, but by a vastly reduced number of games per week. WoWs had such potential, but constant tinkering "balancing" (not for the better either) has slowly but surely taken the game to a place that is just no longer enjoyable.

I am not a whining noob that`s played 200 hundred games and cant get to grips with the mechanics or tactics....I have played over 5k games since closed beta and have had the unenviable pleasure of seeing the slow decline of the game. 

I have played all classes though not so many in carriers, so I feel I can say I have a fairly good idea of what I am talking about( and no I am not claiming to be a bloody expert). Well, I`m off to play games that are not WoWs...and I have quite a few to choose from, funny thing is I don`t think I`ll miss WoWs that much...though I will still keep my eye on the game, you never know, WG may see the light and WoWs will be great again!!
