I got about 2k gold and then just a few camos and flags out of all types of boxes. Still gonna try a few more before it ends though as im hoping for 1 ship as i never get anything good out of the ingame containers either

It is possible to still get some good ships. But the drop rate has dropped since day one.

A lot of talk the drop rate has been nerfed, impossible to say as the prizes are done at the point of sale.

 

WG are never going to admit they've screwed everyone over out of thousands of pounds by g!mping the drops...

Bought around Xmas 10 small, 5 medium, and 3 large presents, got some nice flags, camo, doubloons and a Gremmy. Bought 10 medium ones again three days ago, and got camo, flags, the Indianapolis, and the Atlanta.

 

So, overall, I got a lot of bang for my bucks.

success with the boxes depends on how many of the premium ships you already own, and what exactly you are trying to get out of them.

based on that you either buy cheaper/expensive ones in various amounts...

It's a valid tactic, although questionable, to have a good drop rate initally knowing people will talk about it hence driving demand higher. People will flood to purchase boxes resulting in a massive cash haul for WG. I was lucky, I got 7 ships from the deal early on, including my now favourite, the kutuzov. The others were the arizona, texas, lo yang, scharnhorst, marblehead, and indianapolis.

I tried them 1 more time but I'm done. There are more Greenpeace ships in my port because of the environmental disaster of the gazilion cammo's being dumped! The next 25 years I don't need to bother about premium cammo's at all anymore. (((-;

I bought quite some before Christmas, and got some few good ships. Kutuzov, Blys, Anshan, Warspite, Sims, Marble, Emden, Izi. Doubloons and premium account + lots of dragon flags. AND CAMO of course.

 

Later over christmas I tried again, but this time only camo all the way. No doubt they nerfed it big time. I have tried again later because my wish was to get the Nikolai. But nada Niko and nada gremmy... only camo that i will never need to buy again.

 

All the youtubers have gotten Nikolai within opening just a few presents, so thats rigged of course, we all understand that.

 

But I am curious... have anyone of you gotten the Nikolai?  Not beeing a tuber of course. Could be interesting to hear.

I bought 9 for myself and the first one dropped the Gremy, the only Premium ship which i was missing in my port, the rest where camos and dubloons.

No point wasting money after that so i saved quite a bit which i used to buy the Krupp Steyr Waffentrager and the E25 (my preciousssss) in WoT.

 

But you see the same complaints in WoT in regards to the giftboxes for the Holiday Ops event (which i didn't buy a single one as i got to ops rank 9 just buy playing).

Folks somehow expect specific items and are quite salty when they don't get them - which is not aimed at the OP, he seems merely disappointed..

While i can understand the disappointment, i do not understand the saltyness and the "WG rippoff and scam" threads here and over there at the WoT forums.

yes but all my ships I got during the first Days. Anshan, LoYang Tirpitz Nikolai. The last 15 boxes or so (Adm+Capt) only camos and doubloons. Value? As Nikolai is for me woth insanely much OK, Before the latest 15 good.

Have not bought anything recently. Had plenty of premiums Before.

I understand the salt perfectly well, because it's legit.

 

They even extended the days with the Santa - meaning prob it will get even more nerfed to get ppl to spend as much as possible to get a ship or the Niko. It's a rip off, and I have stopped spending. When the service is nerfed... to me it shows only greed and a policy of cheeting ppl believing they get a fair chance for a ship.

Learn what gambling is and you wont feel cheated. If you cant deal with the way gambling works, restraint in front of such "offers" for boxes that may or may not contain what you feel you deserve will need to be in order...

Legit? So, if you play in a lotterie and do not get the jackpot on your first try you get salty and it's legit?

This xams gift boxes event was exactly that: a lottery.

Some got lucky, some do not. The youtubers got lucky, so did many others. Some got the Gremy and the Nikolai, while others got three times the Sims or Emden.

Happens when you roll a dice, but people have expectations and when those aren't met, they get salty and claim "scam and ripoff".

 

And they NEVER said you get a ship in every box, they said, that will get your moneys worth of items in every box. And that's what happened.
