@ Reaper_JackGBR Makes sense, also if im not mistaken the loading mechanism was designed for 2,5 round/m, ofc doesnt mean that people cant push the preformance even further as shown during the testingperiod.

1. Tirpitz (and generally German BB) dispersion is not a problem, it is a feature :honoring:

When I am kiting such a BB in a cruiser, it is impossible to avoid all shots. Even the shooting player doesn't know where his salvo will fall

2. Tirpitz stats are systematically lower because it was the first high tier BB available just for money. No grinding, no learning. Just pay & go. For many players it was the first ship in tier higher than VI. And it is not so easy to play a flammable brawler in T8-T10 games. Even OP one...

3. You compare "parameters" of Tirp and North Carolina, but you forgot to mention that weird German WoWS armor magic, which causes NC to easily eat 20-40k citadels when showing a glimpse of a broadside, while Tirpitz is very unlucky if receives a few penetrations for 10-15k, even when presenting full length.

Sure Bismarck (and his fictional T9-T10 extensions) may be OP, but it is not an argument to make Tirpitz even more OP...

I'm having trouble following the recent discussion here, so someone clear it up for me:

Is this scuffle about the Tirpitz being a bad ship, or about it not overperforming enough for a premium?

Because really, the Tirpitz is amazing and the immense tactical value of those torpedoes is off the damn charts. I've seen BBs devolve into downright panic mode when I actually push up, which typically ends in them giving broadside. And those that don't simply get a smattering torpedo driveby. Tirpitz is THE ship to just laugh at the bow-on camping meta of high tier BBs crash their camp-party like a battering ram.

If the Tirpitz were any better (access to HAS, better AA or those amazing secondaries) she would be disgustingly OP.

Clearly in the fully un-authentic world view of WOWS designers the best battleship designers in the world are:

1. Russia

2. USA

3. Japan

4. France

5. Great Britain

6. Germany

Scratch the Russians and maybe the French (never did delve too deep into French BB design so I can't say anything about them) and this might actually be fairly accurate. Modern US BBs had by far the most utility and were capable of defeating their axis contemporaries despite being built to much harsher restrictions. I'd call that a monument to pretty good design.

Besides, realism has very little to say in this game when it comes to balance, so all your admittedly very interesting stuff taken from RL is invalid. That's not even mentioning several facts both RL and ingame you're ignoring or straight up got wrong due to what I can only assume is KM fanboyism.

Tirpitz comes from a time when WG actually meant it when they said that premium ships were supposed to be weaker than tech tree ships. She also has already received an AA and (if I remember correctly) multiple armor buffs.

The only reason why Tirpitz' stats are [edited] is that at one point in the game the following match-up was incredibly common:

See, every scrub and their mother had one.

I've seen what a Tirpitz can do in competent hands, she does not need any buffs.
