How is your progress with "The Hunt For Graf Spee" and "Santa's Christmas Convoy"?

I am cruising along quite nicely

 

I only get a couple hours a night, so i should be able to bash out the AGS camo tonight and the Tirpitz camo tomorrow

 

I had considered buying the AGS to help with the mission once i heard we were getting it, but i put the cash into santa boxes instead in the vain hope of a Gremmy or an Atago.I won enough doubloons for a month of premier time and a ton of Ocean Soul camos in stead which have helped with the XP requirements

 

Its quite nice to feel like i earned it all, (even though in a way i paid for it!)

Interestingly gone from 50k credits (after buying the Maas) to 17 million just from doing the missions and mostly using premium ships to do it.

I've soon got the Bayern just a match or two left, so hopefully grinding the last two before the campaign ends. But not sure I will finish all the tasks, only prioritized to get enough to unlock each task task so far...

 

 

The campaign was very much welcome since I had some of the ships already, and those extra silver came in good hand to buy NC after draining the account on Myoko and Shimakaze...

I had Fuso and Leander in port netting me loads of credits and it is nice to have a prem camo for keeper ships.  I sold Farragut/Bayern because I don't want them but the Budyonny was a real prize for me since I haven't played SN cruisers so having a good jump up the tree is nice.

 

That's good to hear. I have no intention of keeping Bayern, so I'll sell it. Fuso as well. Farragut is a definite keeper for me (I already have her in port).

 

What happens to the ships you sell with premium camo, if you rebuy at some point in the future, is the premium camo still available?

Nah I had none of the ships. Only sold Bayern but kept the others. Played through all of them already and sold them all long ago but I had been planning on buying back the Farragut and Fuso anyway.

 

Almost every section of the mission rewarded you with 500k credits for earning 500k credits so it has been extremely easy to earn a lot very fast.

What happens to the ships you sell with premium camo, if you rebuy at some point in the future, is the premium camo still available?

 

Camo stays with the ship - if you ever re-bought it then you would be able to put permanent camo on again.

Got the Graf Spee on Tuesday last week and finished the Christmas Convoy on Saturday. Now I am picking up the missing pieces to get the "with Honors" award.

MRW when you can't go for achievements for the Convoy missions because you don't own a Tirpitz.

Unlocked all the ships, and sold all but the Fuso, and now i don't care about the event as much as i don't plan on keeping the Graf Spee as it is terrible ship versus my lovely ScharnHorst, and why would i grind for just 2 premium camo's for the Spee and the Derpitz, they should have made it include the ScharnHorst

 

So i'm back to grinding for the Shinonomi

 

The only incentive to continue grinding would be the consumables and flags, but the two last rewards is just really meh...

Tirp camo is great, I still play her nearly daily. But that's partly because of sentiment as a Bismarck is more in your face action.

 

Shino campaign is a bit of a pain too, the second stage with cruiser citadels/secondary disables drove me up the wall!

Yea i bet it is awesome if you have a Tirpitz, but for those who don't it sucks getting nothing.. which is why it should have included all the German primium ships like Sharnhorst and Prinz Eugen and not just the Tirpitz, but then again it wouldn't be WG without them having to mess something up...

 

In the PublicTest where they first showed it they had put the Tier 5 IJN CV in too

 

And yes the Shinonome grind is hard, just ended up doing the same ones again, and now i'm at the 3rd stage about to do the final mission to 4th stage, so i can see the end of it soon.

Well can't argue with that, as there is a Tirpitz is nearly every high tier game, but the again the Tirpitz is the only high tier primium battleship might when the Alabama gets released, as the Scharnhorst is more of a battlecruiser with those 283mm guns.

 

Lol so you do them all, well i just do the ones that's the easiest to do but even that is still time consuming, good thing there isn't a deadline on it, but i just grew impatient and i wanted it done, but i also looked at it from a effort vs. reward point of view.

Just finishing off a few leftover base xp missions, then I'm done. Don't own a Tirpitz unfortunately (just too much dough for a pixel ship for my brain to accept, did get a Scharnhorst and Belfast though), but whatever...

 

I also did it the "honest" way - no repeats - but it was still almost laughably easy to do. With Ocean Soul/Gamescon camo, flags, and first win bonuses, meeting the xp and credit goals was a piece of cake, even without a Missouri. Scharnhorst/Belfast+Gamescon camo+Zulu+my passable aim=guaranteed 500+k game.

 

To be quite honest, even though I am grateful they eventually came around and did the right thing giving us access to the convoys, I can't help still feeling insulted by WG EU. This is the campaign they thought we wouldn't have a chance to complete in time because it was 'too hard'?! Expecting a tough grind, I even went so far as to plan out the grind so I could at least get to the Budyonny before the end of the event, maybe even to the Bayern... what a waste of brain capacity that was  I mean, I'm not complaining the missions weren't Nachi-style torture, it's just that it makes WG EU's obvious cashgrab and ridiculous excuses before they were PR-pummeled into submission look that much more atrocious... 

 

Let's just hope they learnt their lesson this time... *fingers crossed*

Just got done with the last convoy task for the extra achievement.

I don't like to leave it this close to the deadline, but I also wasn't super motivated once I had all the missions completed.

 

All the tasks were okay, not too specific or difficult.

 

I could see how the 500k credit ones might be difficult without a tier 9 or 10 ship, or a tier 7-8 premium. Especially without premium account.

While I was doing the citadel task with mixed results. A few here and there with Leander and some of my BBs.

Then when I went to do the daily on my T-22, I got 7 citadels. Huh...

 

I wouldn't bother with co-op unless you're really pressed for time.
