How is your progress with "The Hunt For Graf Spee" and "Santa's Christmas Convoy"?

Finished today, including the last stage of the AGS to actually unlock the thing. I started last week when AGS was unlocked for all. Didn't pay for any of it as I think I paid enough over Xmas for the stupid boxes. Got Gremy and Nikolai from them so can't complain too much.

 

Rocking out the Tirp camo and a Leander that I've been after for awhile.

 

Hardest missions were the 500k earnings as I don't have a Missouri. I accomplished them with Atlanta and Tirp, too hard in a silver ship.

 

Made somewhere in the region of 30 million credits whilst grinding however...

 

I am pretty happy with my overall progress, especially as I had to wait till I got the free AGS before I could start on Santa's Convoys Campaign missions. Right now I am clocking in about 2 stages a day with the 3,2 and varying 1 pin missions. So I should get them done by Jan 19, except I don't have a Tirpitz so I won't be doing the final mission, of course.

 

Ehem.. WG... what's the big idea with this Tirpitz being needed?

 

You can only "complete" the Convoy missions with a Tirpitz as it's needed to play the final mission. Plus the reward is for the Tirp.

Just got the Bayern so that's the christmas convoys finished for me. An alternative  AGS camo isn't needed and I don't have the Tirpitz but could have done those before deadline pretty easily. So much for WG claiming that we didn't have enough time, pretty blatant and unimaginative BS

I just finished the Leander mission, nice addition to my port. Will probably also finish the Farragut (which I already own), however I am skeptical, if I will manage one more. Not much time left for me.

 

However, I am quite OK with all the stuff I got with the Christmas/New Years missions and events.

I'm on the farragut mission, a ship that I've sold already. Leander was nice though, I still had a bit to go on the Emerald grind. I think I will try and get the Budyonny too, would be fun to try a Russian cruiser without going through tier 1-5.

Mostly because it would feel very awkward to not do at least the base missions after all what i said about WG cutting the campaign.

Got Spee on Friday. I'm rushing through the C convoy now. Just unlocked the Budy cammo. Don't think I'll make it all the way. But I like the missions a lot!

Well, those are mission prepared globally (except the EU ofc), so they were prepared with their most prized 1st class players, the RU server in mind. The 2nd and 3rd class, that is NA na SEA also had the luck to be included, but EU have not.

 

After all, the EU players are treated like a total pariahs and have to play with much higher requirements for much lesser rewards than the other servers. And last 2 weeklies show that this trend did not stopped.

 

From their Q&A, they are planning to make some event for Chinese new year. I'm wondering if that will be RU thing, but not EU.

I should unlock the Graf Spee tomorrow. I only have around 2K left to get. I was working most of christmas and new year so started on it late.

Painful, just sheer agony trying to grind through it all...just potato team after potato team after potato team after potato team after potato team after potato team after potato team over and over and over. I'll get the Tirpitz camo (currently half way through the GS camo mission), but it's been no fun at all. Endless swarms of torp-soup spamming DDs making every game impossible for BBs, the cancerous plague that is CVs ruining most games too.

I cant finish the last Mission, because i dont have a Tirpitz and i dont want to buy one. Sadly i cant even get the Achivments for the "Christmas Convoy" even if have completed them all ... only the play a Battle with Tirpitz to get Tirpitz Camo missing... Its a bit meh... Maybe you should be able to get PremCamo for a T8 BB you have or some other Things (not Tirpitz limited) like the Northcarolina Camo or Bismark Camo, Amagi doesnt have a T8 PremCamo

I got the ship I wanted free (the Farragut) so I'm not in a hurry. I will probably get the ruskie cruiser as well, because why not, but I'm not interested in either the Fuso or the Bayern.

 

The camo for the Graf Spee is just ugly and gives the same bonus as the standard one, so I'm not interested in that either, and I don't have a Tirpitz, so no final mission for me.

 

All in all, good for the free unlocks (UK and russian cruisers) and the free port slots.

I finished the Farragut yesterday. Due to a lack of gaming time it's unlikely I'll get other ships, which is unfortunate since I don't care about the Leander and already have the Farragut.

Completed the Graf Spee mission in 2 days after the final step unlocked.

Completed the first five or six Santa's convoys so far. Working on the Bayern mission. Glad I don't have a Tirpitz so I can skip the final mission.

Did not have a life this weekend.

This weekend was a fairly solid push for finishing the Santa's convoy missions.  Originally my goal was just to unlock the Tirpitz camo... which I had thought might be a stretch... but I was 2 games from the Graf Spee camo (stage 8) when I stopped playing on Saturday and I was easily able to get the Tirpitz camo yesterday morning.

 

Since then I have decided I will push to complete them with honours.  I spammed the credits mission over and over to get the Tirp camo and I had already been running the XP missions alongside that so they were mainly done.  Once I had the XP missions done I moved onto the damage missions, but a couple of 200k damage CV games made short work of those.  A couple of games this morning have left me with just 2 missions left - 12 citadels (got 3 in my Belfast) and 50k fire damage and it is done with honours.

 

All of this has made me really glad I didn't bother paying actual money for the Graf Spee.

Quite nice & easy missions for exp, hits & dmg. Nothing like "spot 10 DD in T8+ BB" or "kill 100 Commonwealth ships" or "do 100k with flooding in 1 battle". 

You can play what you like.

I got premium time from saving the last task of the Low-tier Campaign, and being able to do 3 tasks at once it went smoothly, even though I don't have much time to play outside weekends. 

I am currently at the end of Bayern stage, and will not be able to complete the campaign because I don't have Tirpitz.

 

A bit shame that having done 99% of the tasks, to get the campaign medal I need to BUY the most expensive premium in the shop 

Nasty pay-to-win. Another WG "player-friendly image" failure in this case. 

 

And another failure because the Convoys are perfectly doable in the time left after unlocking last Graf Spee stage.

I got the AGS the 10th and since I'm doing Santa's Convoy. Things are goin well, I'm half way through mission 7, so I should be able to finish it tues or wednesday.

I had Fuso and Leander in port netting me loads of credits and it is nice to have a prem camo for keeper ships.  I sold Farragut/Bayern because I don't want them but the Budyonny was a real prize for me since I haven't played SN cruisers so having a good jump up the tree is nice.

Played quite a lot over the weekend and now will finish the campaign tonight with approximately another 3-5 games.

 

Interestingly gone from 50k credits (after buying the Maas) to 17 million just from doing the missions and mostly using premium ships to do it.
