It is known that more RN lines are coming in 2017. And yes I expect it will be the BBs and DDs. Once the Devs are happy with CVs we will see a RN CV line too in future. Personally I would love to see some heavy cruisers, in particular the County Class.

I agree.

Somebody from WG already stated that RN DDs are planned for 2017. If the RN will get two lines, BBs make the most sense to me for the other line. We already had cruisers a few months ago (albeit light cruisers), so I don't expect RN heavy cruisers for this year.

I would be very interested to see the RN CV line in WoWS and what it might bring in terms of gameplay, I agree though that the CV rework  must come first, all in good time I suppose.

Bottlecruisers please! That would be more intriguing!

Let me guess, you are hoping for HMS Invincible, HMS Indefatigable, HMS Queen Mary and HMS Hood?

On a serious note, I expect that HMS Hood will be added as a premium ship in WOWS and that HMS Renown will be added as a standard line/tree British "battleship".

I've always said this would be a more interesting way to handle the RN BB line and would give them a unique and consistent flavor, but I don't have high hopes of it actually happening.

Yea like Battlecruisers in general and it is a truely British thingy.

I am not hyped about Renown though. The only thing remarkable about Repulse is that she proved that Battleships were obsolete in WW2.

I am not hyped about Hood either but I am kind of looking forward to the impressive money grab weekend she appears in the shop. This will make the Scharnhorst sale look like nothing.

@VC: yes, BCs would be a unique BB line and a perfect fit for the RN BB debut. But I agree with you that WG will probably go the "normal" way with battleships. However, what would be uniqu about them other than they would please the RN fanboys? Probably nothing :-)

I would be more hyped for either Renown class member in any fit, even more than for Hood, because I consider them gorgeous ships and the real last thoroughbred battlecruiser (Hood herself crossing over heavily to fast BB).

If they go with normal BBs, I guess they can keep the zombie healing flavor they started with Warspite. Also slow turrets but very accurate guns. Low tiers would have the "trait" of getting bigger guns sooner compared to US and KM. High tiers might end up a bit generic with the exception of individual history. I think their overall feel will be close to IJN without the crazy range.

HMS Hood?! Did someone say HMS Hood? Oh.... God, I'm waiting for her since... Since I'm on this forum! :D

And for sure, the HMS Hood will be a premium, how can WG miss a such occasion to make more money. :hiding:

Really hope they will add British BBs.

I do fear that this hype train is going to crash very hard. The reason is that, boiled down to basic stats, RN battleships are somewhat lackluster. Their trump cards IRL were being revolutionary, being many and/or being very well sailed. Once you balance them against ships of equivalent power level they lose strengths like being the first ship with X size gun. They are by no means bad ships, but they've got no particular strength or flavour rooted in the designs themselves. All that's left is to prop them up with soft stats that try to emulate very competent crews.

Their main advantage was numerical superiority which won't be the case in WOWS.

Knowing WG's track record for anything Brit and their love for gimmicks this release has all components for a major disaster :-)

Part of me thinks once RN BB are released and everyone has played their fill then this game will have peaked...

Or maybe that's just me :hiding:

Well - once this happens the game will be 2 full years out. If you think of a reasonable cycle it might not be off far. But that doesn't mean the game dies afterwards. There is content easily until 2020 - not counting "filler" stuff like the Russians.

Man, I wish HMS Hood had her sister ships completed and launched. She could be an almost 1:1 copy of her non-premium sister with ridiculously high pricetag :P

(Nope, the missing uniqueness of Prinz Eugen is not yet forgiven)

They need to get the British battleships out sooner this year rather than later! i am becoming quite bored with the game as i have nearly every tier 10 in the game that i want and only destroys are being added at this time.. i would also be happy if before destroyers we get a heavy cruiser slit a tier 7, with the tier 10 being the planned super heavy cruiser HMS Churchill.. then destroyers (which i'm not fussed about)
