Curious as to what 2017 has in store for World of Warships? Read below to check out some of the main points, or view the video below to find out more!

What's coming in 2017 for World of Warships?

  • More ship branches for the British Tech Tree
  • Two new branches of French ships
  • Soviet Destroyer changes (Two Destroyer sub-branches: Destroyer leaders and Artillery Destroyers)
  • Legendary Commanders
  • Earnable ship upgrades
  • Commander Skill Tree changes
  • PvE (cooperative) missions
  • Clan battles
  • Sound improvements (dynamic music and the ability to modify the sound files of shots, torpedoes etc...)
  • Graphical improvements
  • And much, much more!

i actually wanna have an own sound for a citadel hit you do to an enemy ship like people do in funtages.. this "quack" sound :/

 

But i think we won't be able something like that

Did i heard "new types of armament"?

 

Oh god, that don't leave much of a choice... missiles and mines (pls no mines, everything but mines)? Or maybe purpose builds rams...

 

EDIT: Missiles are actually probable, one of the ships being modelled in the clip was a Kildin class DD:

An improvement i would like is a coresponding destruction of the ship depending on the damage it took at the last moment and make several of each and make them random. As of what it is now, its 1 death on all ocasions. And a fancy Yamato style detonation animation might be interesting too.

As for the new weapons they might put in, i remember them talking about Nukes long ago, so might be something of the sort. just hope our ships dont have to become minesweapers.

Always nice to hear about new content but giving any thought to it right now is like discussing what color the new wallpaper will be in a house that's burning down around us ...

Actually Project 56 was Kotlin class (as it turned out, last non-missile class of the Soviet destroyers), Kildin class was Project 56M (with lead ship being Project 56EM). Kotlins were armed with 2xII 130mm guns and 2xV 533mm torpedo tubes (and 4xIV 45mm automatic guns) and the main connection to Pr. 56M was the hull and powerplant.

 

Cant wait for the new British lines and Finally some more French Ships

 

Dunkerque called the devs and told them she feels lonely. So yeah, looking forward to FR ships - they often had weird and original solutions :)

Well that kinda already is in the game - for example bow breaking off if you are sunk by torpedo hit in the general area seems to happen quite often, though maybe I am imagining things... :D

EDIT: No spectacular explosions yet though.

What playstyle can we roughly expect for these artillery destroyers? Will the current ships be that line, the other one or both?

That is right, but the model shown in the video (twice), namely that one:

Is armed with quadruple guns, instead of double 130mm. Also, the smokestack, mast and the superstructure are clearly different.

 

For further comparison, this is Kildin class DD:

So while you may, or may not introduce missiles, you do have missle armed ship in your 2017 video.

 

EDIT: I read your second posts. Yeah, let's see, i'm actually curious. Just please tell them, no mines, we already have problems with pushing, we don't need minelayers/sweepers.

I hope I'm wrong, but weren't the SS-N-1 missiles on the Kildin/56M nuclear tipped only...?

Now that would be something !

Turn it into a tier X equivalent of the missouri for 2,5 million free xp i bet we would have hundreds of them nuking everything in sight on day 1.
