This is rare to me personally. The numbers of BB's in every game makes the BB 'issue' more severe than any other issue that appears less frequently.

Tier 7 6 and 5 the numbers of Battleships are fine. High tier 10 does look dull though from replays I've seen.

I'd say there is a bigger issue with cruisers and destroyers. The amount of matches the cruisers and destroyers are BEHIND the Battleships is madness. They don't seem to realise they are scouts and screens. Destroyers who Swan off the map looking for lone targets. Cruisers at the back HE spamming. Last night I had a match where I spotted a Destroyer heading for our carriers at the halfway spot in the map. No reaction other than to tell me to stop spamming chat from 1 guy. 5 mins later carriers dead x2. Who were the 3 people chasing the destroyer now? 3 Battleships...

I think tools are not limited to one ship type for sure. Just you often notice the tools in Battleships as they last longer.

My cruisers are NOT all intended to screen ahead of BB's, it's all circumstantial .Also, yes it's almost exclusively a BB problem, finding their balls and using their ARMOR, HITPOINT POOLS and HEALS, which cruisers don't have, don't have and only get at tier 9.

Tools are not limited to BB's for sure, but as you point out it's the easiest class to witness them in. Though sometimes even cruisers should use the tools they got to the biggest effect it can have :)

First match i played after reading your post.

Edit: Second one

And the third one:

As you can see 5 BBs per side is pretty much the norm in tier 7 as well. Sometimes its 6 and i even saw 7.

BBs at this point are pretty much completely out of control, by far the most played ships in the game. Little wonder though, nobody likes to be one shot while angled and doing your best to dodge every other match.

This game is intended to be a cooperation of ship classes and supposedly in  a group of movement (DD-CA-BB-CV).

Every ship class has a set of purposes. I see them as:

DDs - scout, cap & smoke; support priority: CA, BB; fight priority (alone): DD, BB, CV, CA;

CAs - support priority: DD, BB; fight priority (alone): DD, CA, CV(planes), BB, CV;

BBs - support priority: CA; fight priority (always): DD(close only), CA, CV(planes), BB;

CVs - air scout & cap disruption; support priority: DD; fight priority (always): CV/F&T&B, DD, BB, CV, CA.

But what happens with BBs at the border of the map is:

BBs - support priority: none; fight priority: BBs only,  because others are too fast to hit  for the distance.

And it is very easy and no brain is needed to play this loser tactics - an exact fit for many.

There are a lot of players what are capable to spend a huge ammount of money into the game,  hell i checked a player what bought instand a Yamato with a overall totall of 65 battles, im not joking this player is really playing.

So most of us learned the game step by step wile advancing the tiers up, you can clearly see the diffrents between someone who bought all there ship's what is sadly increasing everyday.
Also there is a diffrents between when a skilled/good player have a bad or a good day, skills are always visible, thats the same we have that we can recognise a patato player from miles a way in our battles

I think that WG have to implant in the game you have to play a xxx ammount of battles in a upgraded ship no matter what type/class ship it is, before you can tier up, this prefent, that you can instand buy a premium high tier ship iff you didn't reach the same actuall tier, so no skipping the learning part.
Ill bet, if you need to play (for example) 200 battles in a ship you will learn what to do, this can only increase the fun, every team is more equal and the most importaint: Battles will be much more better!

They are everywhere. The pics you posted are common for all of us to witness. But like a few have said, they are often on the enemy team too. I was in my Maas yesterday and got 4 kills purely on BBs running in one straight line. Tier 7 BB's!

One Scharnhorst, full HP, saw me get detected 8km from him and still took 4 torps from me. The mind boggles!

Yesterday, in a perfectly even battle (4 of each class on both sides, no CVs) one of our BBs exclaimed "OMG what's up with the massive number of DDs?"

Apparently a perfectly even battle is massive numbers for DDs, but not for BBs. I think the poor fellow has been 'brought up' during the inflated BB numbers period, and so is used to having BBs being the most numerous class. Obviously he didn't complain about cruiser numbers as they are food.

Now, the guy's reaction was a surprise to me, but thinking about it, it made sense to him. Four destroyers per side in a battle has to him, been a rather unheard number. So the natural reaction is one of surprise.

I think his reaction to an even battle says a lot about the current state of affairs.

65 total games played and bought a yamato ?

You would need more games to get the xp to convert and skip the entire line.

Edit: except if they bought a ton of those gift boxes and managed to score a ton of free xp.

I've seen many battleships that seem to have no clue. Even when warning them, or giving advice it just gets brushed off and ignored.

However this isn't just limited to battleships. I've seen plenty of other ship types being a bit clueless.
