The other team's 'side' to this flag is more open, so it's much easier for their ships behind to support the flag and much harder to get early spots because you have to pass through the small gaps before you get any vision on what's coming. I think it's the A flag if you are south and the C flag if you are north. Almost every time in chat, even when the team doesn't spawn near this flag, people are insistent to get it. Sheep huddle together for safety. This tactic only happens when the team is full of sheep. The wolves still feed. Don't let yourselves get surrounded in battle, it's the worst thing you can do. So it is you being the potato here. But should the whole team go there or just the Cleveland so he can spam over the islands there? Because the cap is always closer to you than to the enemy team, and in something stealthy enough you can almost always cap the point before the enemy destroyers can contest it. Sure, you'll be under more concentrated fire if you are spotted, but you can go back the way you came quick enough to get out of their firing arcs, at least in my limited experience.
