Japanese CV abuse

So i was just play a normal game then this happened. 

 

i met the most boring CV player in EU and this happened

i met USA CV who run 2 0 1 flight deck. 

he didn't do any damage and manage to come in top 2 for damage... 

he got 1 achievement for 'clear sky' but surely i got 'clear sky' i got clear sky before and it didn't do a thing i still at middle of damage result. 

i might just play USA CV instead and play full fighter team just to piss enemy CV off. and still come at top of the table.

How do you know what damage he did? A couple of patches ago, they increased the XP gain for spotting and plain kills if I remember correctly

no use m8, it T6 CV. 1 squad can be take out in the matter of 3 sec. if you going for enemy CV most like all you plane gonna disappear before even see enemy CV. and Japan CV T6 only have 5 squad, it not like top tier when you have 8.

damage, cap point and tank damage turn into experience, CV mostly never get hit or go cap and so in this game. also he only have 1 bomber squad. most of the time my fighter go to interfere in bomb drop. any disagree?

The main let down with fighter setups (well apart from being boring as hell) is that if the enemy slips in even 1 successful attack he will surely outdamage you and contribute to his team more.

Fighter setups are only exist to piss its user and the enemy carrier off.

Use strafe more. let him catch a group of dive bombers if he gets to close then strafe them and his fighters he will run out first as long as you get him a few times with needing to sacricice your planes too. I have taken out about 18 planes in 1 pass before.

i don't really know how much damage he did but what i did know he only manage to drop 5 bomb and as usually USA cv just auto drop it. 1 bomber squad cant do that much damage.

enemy never aim for bomber first, because bomber it slow and do let damage (for japan)

only 5 squad with each have 4 planes. going any where alone their just melt.  it not about cover the whole map, it about zone up. one usa fighter squad can easy do that since their have 6 plane to melt your 4 plane down with T7 AA. go alone just not do anything.

Ok, so...

1st of all: you don't know how much damage he dealt, you can't check that in post-game result screen.

2nd: it seems that he actually... well, effectively killed one ship. That ship was you. He shut you down and killed your planes, reducing you to a floating corpse of a carrier. 

3rd: he probably had a lot spotting damage, torp spotting etc: small things that got him some more XP. Basically, he outplayed you and managed to do well in a pretty underpowered (though admittedely frustrating for CV enemy) configuration.

4th: I myself hate skyc'ancer a lot when I play my CV. Yes, the dynamics of these set-ups make it so that picking these feels like griefing. But the thing is, you see, picking AS decks actually puts you at disadvantage. Yes, you rule the skies but in Randoms people scatter or at least split into two groups. It's usually pretty easy to find some targets enemy CV just can't protect effectively - and when you're in an IJN CV you even have some fighters of your own to make shutting you down much harder. Think about it: even if you have problems going through and dropping fast, you can literally intercept half of his fighters with yours to ensure a more comfortable drop. And if you manage, say, 2 good drops in the whole match, that's probably more contribution than the enemy CV will manage (especially since - despite having air superiority - he just lacks squadrons to counter you, deal whatever damage he can AND try spotting DDs on top of that).

 

Facing US AS decks is extremely frustrating but might actually be the easiest match-up when it comes to pulling your weight understood as "being more useful than enemy CV". Sure, you're unlikely to have a great game against such an opponent but you're not really at a disadvantage. As long as you accept the fact that there are powerful fighter groups in the air and you need to play more carefully than usual to get some damage AND see your planes return home from their sorties.

The numbers suggest he simply knows how to strafe and you do not. Or if you do he was a lot better and caught you pants down.

 

The AS spec decks dont do much for their team. They cant do much damage.

Just for your info I killed a balanced ranger in my fighter ranger before took exactly 2 waves basically only 3 strikes to do the 44900 Points of damage.

In current horrible economy for CVs where credits income is too low, especially in tier 8+, i believe CV captains should avoid going against one another at least till last stage of battle. Leave each other planes alone.

I play my Independence like that. I do reasonably well exp wise even when doing damage less than 5 figures. My guess is that this comes from torpedo-spotting and spotting ingerneral, something I use my planes for all the time.

Horrible isnt the word to describe it, its something even worse, and since i played IJN CV its a well known fact that US planes are a lot more durable and in direct fighter dogfight IJN looses, and if the enemy team is good enoug they can negate the IJN strice a lot easyer than US since they drop like flies on anything that has AA and a strice US CV in this case just added salt to it.

Well the bigger issue is that you where to aggressive as it seems. Since you had the possibility just to atack the ships that are close to your own team. 

 

On the same time you could have also just do faint atacks and let him sacrifice his planes in your allied AA. So you could have won the fight like this.

 

IJN CV's are the hardest CV playstyle to master but if you can play them very well (what not many people can do) you will rock the enemie team to the bottom of the Ocean since you litterly can outplay any US CV because you have to many planes. Maybe you should try for beginners aswell your AS Setup.

first of all, this raing is not "per damage" but "per experience"

 

why it matters because there is alot of things you can do [even as a CV] which gives you more exp than inflicting damage

it not work when all  their team group up, all USA CV have to do it just leave one fighter near the team and another one go and hunt down. T7 AA it not joking, when i was play Nagato i shot down whole torpedo squad. German BB even have better AA.

Just play the Hiryu and watch an AS Ranger try to stop you. It's really funny. If any changes was to be made, I think that the defensive AA consumable should be extended to tier 7 CVs.
