I just got detonated in a tier 9 battle from full health by an idiotic AI controlled fort. I lost close to 100k credits thanks to it, all because the worst mechanic in the game decided to team up with the most moronic game mode idea ever conceived. Oh, players want to fight against other ships do they? Well let's put in weapons that causes damage for them! Causes more damage than them in fact! Oh, our players want to be proactive and play for objectives? WELL TOO BAD! ANYONE WHO TRIES TO CAP GETS SHOT AT!

 

Yes I am salty. Bastion still needs to die.

Yup, that stupid mode needs to die. Suggestion: there were quite some people who complained they didn't know what to do with all their credits, how about you start to boycott Bastion? You can afford it. Credits-wise and if that's the case also stats-wise. Heck, even I can afford that. Just throw those games. If we can get something going it will show in their stats... and that's the one and only way to enforce change.

Screw this game mode...

I would troll in it but then I'd be Pink'ed.

 

Think I'll make no attempt to cap or go anywhere near them and I'll just go for damage when I get this mode. Part way boycotted I guess.

Now THAT's a killsteal.

 

And yes, Bastion is a terrible game mode. The first couple minutes are a frantic clusterf*** as DDs try to rush and capture the points and as soon as one team captured a zone, it turns into a massive campfest with a massive disadvantage for the team that has to try to recapture a point.

Ferw days ago i tried caping zone in Zao , i got 8 km from fort and had to run away cause i got nearly beaten  .

 

Make it pve option not pvp

 

I had nothing against bastion when forts were cosmetics , now they do insane amount of damage making it a pve game against bastions not pvp

Problem with Bastion since the latest upgrade is that I have issues dealing damage with my Khaba AP. Thier new armor layout just makes them so much harder for smaller ships to pen whilst they gained accuracy etc. Plus, starting with forst already operational just negates dd gameplay.

You need to be close for small caliber guns to damage the forts , so in most cases you will be dead

Started on Hotspot with my Donskoi on the lower left side, instantly got spotted by enemy fort and fired upon (I don't have CE yet). By the time I got out of detection range again, 1/3 of my HP was gone.

_FTD_ is going to love this.

 

Sadly the more this game mode proves to be the worst idea ever the longer it's going to stay in because all this feedback just shows how much we love this mode so we'll have it in all maps in the future.

I, for one, can't wait until they deploy Nineteen Eighty-Four-style floating fortresses on the Ocean map.

Make it optional. I don't wanna play it. Then lets make it so the few people that want to play it can, but the rest of us can skip it. About 60-70% of the games i've played these last few days have been Bastion. It's boring. 12km homing missile forts that take half the HP away from DDs. Think i'm just going back to port every time i get it from now on. :sceptic:

When I first heard of Bastion I was thrilled, but then again I never thought it was going to be a sort of protected Domination. I thought it would be more similar to War Thunder planes where there are bases you can bomb, but you can also decide not to. Right now fighting the forts is forced down our collective throats and they have made them into enormous obstacles, killing many ships each battle (arguably the forts, if counted as one entity, is the top scorer in a large percentage of games). That means the players lose out on a lot of damage and kill benefits, aside from the annoyance to tactical considerations.

Fine, but only on that map. With another 50% less chance for that map to appear with bastion mode.

Detonated by a fort wow! T_T

 

In addition to all the things mentioned above: Apparently some guy at WG took a look at WOWS and found there wasn't enough AA in high tier matches. So he decided to give forts (pretty hefty) Anti Aircraft Artillery, creating an AA wall you have to pass two times per strike in order to access the enemy fleet. Also bringing your CV close to the action where it belongs becomes practically impossible due to the 'LOL your concealment doesn't even matter' stations. And the best thing IMO: Noone ever explained the Bastion game mode! People just idle around, occasionally shoot buildings ... and you can't blame them. Yesterday someone asked "What are we supposed to do here?" since he genuinely didn't know.

 

WG, pls take a look at the feedback players give and rethink your decision to expand Bastion to more and more maps

Bastion in it's current form is just pure pants.
 

If WG really wants their AI controlled forts maybe they should put them on the edge of the map to discourage 'brave' battleship captains. :trollface:
