I tried starting this mission, but it tells me Task 1 you need Graf Spee to start it ??

Is this a mistake or am i doing something wrong ?

Also, on the Graf Spee missions: Mission 2, i can't activate final task, it tells me to do the other task's in mission 2 first, but i have already done them

You need Graf Spee to complete the convoy missions.

Do you have 3 pins? If not you will need to complete one of the missions twice.

To save your next reply, the latter part of the Graf Spee missions are locked until 9th January

You need 3 pins to unlock the final mission. So one of the tasks you have to do twice.

The graf spee missions do require the graf spee - it was a incentive for people to buy the graf spee (and therefore start the missions now) rather than get it for free and possibly not have enough time to complete them

First, finish Graf Spee Missions. You have to finish some tasks twice to get the necessary pins.

After you received Graf Spee, you can start to play the convoy missions.

its

a) pay for spee and have more days to do the missions, or

b) not pay for spee and have less days for the missions

so your choice is easy and ok time to do the missions (aka the relaxing grind)

or you can do the hard way and free way to do the missions (aka grinding galore) but you have your own choice of doing it free or pay way.

its not expensive ship either though. but i would ask you to think if you think its expensive, what do you buy on the weekends if you go out and drink, as its like 3-4 beers out of town. (here in norway 1.5 beers)

You can't do the Santa escort missions unless you BUY the Graf Spee.

You can't even start part 3 final mission of the Graf Spee chain till 09/01/17

There is no way you can complete the Graf Spee chain then complete the escort missions, they both end 18/01/17.

You can do the escort missions but it will cost you money.

I also tend to measure my gaming expenditures in the number of beers they will get me at the pub. It helps.

Of course, I still go out for a few beers at the pub now and then...

I'm pretty confident I can power grind all the Convoy missions after the 9th. With the help of flags, camo and P2W ships :hiding:

Can't understand why it boggles, It's so obvious what you need to do, maybe WG should have made a video. :)

Fantastic to see how under-informed are certain players regarding the mission objectives and criteria.

It sends a clear message that there are still players out there who only play the game and does not check forum/portal/other channels and also they do not spend the time to think through the Campaign and mission rules.

Looks like we are truly in the GOOGLE era - where you do not need to know anything other than to use google to ask the questions....?

Well, the Graf Spee was only 18 euros, so no big deal. Gives me more time to do the Xmass Convoy missions at my leisure. You can decide to get the Graf Spee for free, but you'll have only 9 days to do the convoy missions.

That's not right. I mean, you are mistaken. Yes, they both end on the same day. HOWEVER there is nothing stopping you from finishing GS chain right when the last step becomes available. Note that the mission that unlocks the final step is time-gated - but the final mission of the campaign is not. So while you have until 18th to finish the chain, you can get it done with right on 9th. Leaving you a bit over a week to grind through the convoy missions. Yes, it's a hard grind, especially if you try to do it without premium account, but it's most definitely possible.

You are of course correct.

9 days to complete the missions, Im not really bothered about anything past the Fuso. I have many tier 10s, Missouri for the 500k credits missions. I think I will be able to get most of the way through.

About 3 beers for me (at the pub) or 3 packs of beer from like supermarket.

For me, buying a £15 ship to skip to tier 6 of 3 lines seemed like a no brainer, would cost me way more in free XP.  Just a shame I already have the British Cruisers and US Destroyers.

The amount I've blown in the game already I'd rather try and grind out the Convoy missions.

No AGS isn't a lot of money but if I can play smart for a week or so and unlock all the goodies then it'll be an interesting challenge.

It's a pretty good marketing ploy by WG and fair as well I think.

You can earn a Graf Spee and a buttload of credits/flags/XP/ships and camo for free if you DO have the time.

If you don't you can treat yourself to a Graf and still get a buttload of freebies.

Win win for WG and the players.

If you don't want to buy AGS or have the time then that's unfortunate it is a mission with goals to be achieved not a giveaway.

I'm lucky enough to have bought the AGS supreme bundle before Santa's Convoy came to EU. So....... According to WG I get a buttload of free ships or credit equivalent anyway.:P

The missions are pretty fun though and add a great element to the game that WoT never had.

I was contemplating the RN CL line but couldn't face grinding to tier 6 and was not willing to sink free xp. Got a free Leander now so chuffed with that.

It is unbelievable the amount of free stuff you CAN get if you really want it. (Although technically it's not free for me cos I spanked a wodge on AGS bundle)

On a side note I was a bit late to learn all about the Santa's Convoy debacle. A hearty thanks to all the community that put it forward to WG EU about the server disparities and won us a chance to play these missions. Well done, it shows what the playerbase can achieve in the face of unfairness.:honoring:

Actually it's no ploy at all.

WG originally were not going to give us the Convoy missions at all and going to make everyone pay for the camos without the option of playing for them. Even to the point of changing a promotional video and having the EU use a different game client to the rest of the world. But enough of us kicked up a fuss.

Never forgot... :honoring:

What I mean is the current 'pulled out of their behind' emergency EU AGS and Santa's convoy mission seem pretty fair in how its done in time windows.

Not wanting to take anything away from the guys that got it for us.

Just a simple question: What time is SERVER TIME? (as it says to complete step 3 on January 9, tomorrow)?

It means 00 am ETC, UTC or 02 am?

Thank you!

P.S.

Usually Container is reset at 02:30  Rome time.

So, who's won what so far and how's it going?

These are really good missions. I'm onto Bayern and have kept Leander and Fuso. The rest I banked as already had.

I really wanted Leander as I could not be arsed to start the Brit CL line. She is a fine ship and I seem to be doing quite well in her despite my expectations. Very dynamic gameplay and she's a closet Leeroy.

I 've got/had all the others but Fuso is a nice ship to have again for ranked. I'd forgotten the immense power of her broadside. It's just.......LoL!

The unique camo's are pants. I mean really? The same shite for every ship?

I cannot dispute the flags and cash awards for just playing though. Some of the pins add quite a twist on your gameplay like torp hits and citadels.

I found Tirp or Sharn great for torps as they are normally deployed at such close range its a given. Co-op is just free pins for this.

Citadels are easily farmed with something like Molotov. In fact these missions are great for getting you off a grind and having some real gaming fun. Playing for citadels completely changes your perspective of the game and I've had some good damages from Moly.

I do think they may skew random play as people may go all out to achieve their pin goals.

Oh Atago or any IJN CA or Dunkek is fantastic for module damage. One game or so and it's a pin.

Easiest silver ever to be made in game. Great missions and maybe a swan song before the new crappy skill tree and consumable nerfs.

Good times.

And  don't forget any mission is repeatable so you can farm kills/torps/cits/modules for easy pins. And co-op mode is just free pins if time is an issue.

Good luck Captains and don't forget to post your mission progress.
