BabyAdmiral Beta Tester 473 posts 3,725 battles Report post #2 Posted December 30, 2016 I would say they are worse. Smaller playerbase. The average player shows more broadside in my experience.

anonym_yHbO7kUt9ZH4 Players 83 posts Report post #4 Posted December 30, 2016 Uhm, it's almost impossible that they are worse imo.. i'm certainly not the best out here, but the way the 'teams' i get lately behave, i would say the NA server has to have better players Although, being bottom of the foodchain in DD's constantly for a month or so and with all T8 ships isnt helping much either.. but that's another discussion. The average player shows more broadside in my experience. Agree with this. I've played on NA a few times and I just find it much easier to do well. The enemy just seems more predictable, however, I have no statistical evidence to back this up.
BabyAdmiral Beta Tester 473 posts 3,725 battles Report post #6 Posted December 30, 2016 Your player profile is private btw. When opening a thread like this where you basically are whining about other players' ability to understand the game, you lose quite a bit of integrity by hiding your stats.
[MIMI] Kruzenstern Beta Tester 1,133 posts 5,971 battles Report post #7 Posted December 30, 2016 A smaller playerbase normally means a better average though. And one big advantage on NA is that most players speak english. I can only speak for WoT, but quality of the average player on NA (where I played my first two years), while still pretty bad, was a quite a bit higher than on EU (where I played my last two years). The enemy just seems more predictable, however, I have no statistical evidence to back this up. I have an account on NA as well (for about the last 6 months) and I have found them more gung ho. You tend to come out of battles, win or lose, knowing you have been in a fight....more often than not DD players tend to wolf pack even when not in a division. Chat wise it was almost unplayable during the presidential elections due to trump supporters filling chat with b0llocks and inciting anti trumps into arguments during battle, even on their own team. Generally friendlier though and skill standards much the same. Edited December 30, 2016 by bushwacker001

You tend to come out of battles, win or lose, knowing you have been in a fight.... I have to agree with this. I'm a brawler by nature (better at angling/tanking than to be stealthy), so that might be one of the reasons I experience NA players as "worse". It might have more to do with playstyle.

In my experience there isn't a lot of hanging back by BB's, especially if the last survivor for instance....they seem to have the 'do as much damage before I die' attitude which is good.
[SCRUB] ApesTogetherStronK [SCRUB] Players 1,074 posts Report post #13 Posted December 30, 2016 Better or worse is subjective to a point. Different playstyles overall due to their culture would be more accurate. They do like to be gung ho, overextend and show broadsides more though; which most of us here on EU will know how to take advantage of quite easily.

[H_FAN] Gnirf Players 3,293 posts 67,343 battles Report post #18 Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) In one of the Shootered Ships Pods there was an interview with a player that had gone to Ranked 1 on all servers, he stated that the EU players were better in teamplay and US players were better in individual skill. Interesting at least as a discussion point of view. I wonder how many outcries of bad team, noob team, it would be on their matches in chat...... On the other hand it was in ranked so he might have stated otherwise if he had played random. Language barriers are not an advantage for EU even if most have English as second language. The other servers I do not recall at the moment. Edited December 31, 2016 by Gnirf

[H_FAN] Gnirf Players 3,293 posts 67,343 battles Report post #21 Posted December 31, 2016 Better teamplay on EU? Go ahead and try to win a random battle without division. I always play solo (playing for fun), I made the post to inform about a lenghty discussion in a podcast which gives some input. I value a players opinion who has played to rank 1 on all servers. It was not my opinion because I play only on EU-server. You noticed my ironic remark of the chat?
[ARRSE] cracktrackflak Weekend Tester 947 posts Report post #22 Posted December 31, 2016 I find it a better experience playing WoWS on NA as opposed to EU. The standard of gameplay is distinctly lower - unsurprisingly, given the server numbers, etc. What I do like is that NA players tend to communicate a great deal more and - of course - most of it is in a single language. Although much of the conversation is the usual "your mom"/"jesus is the light" variety, the greater overall volume of chat means that there is distinctly more team effort on NA than there is on EU. Incidentally, there is also much more positive chat with the enemy team - appreciation of good play or bad luck, etc. On EU, by contrast, I think everyone is familiar with the situation where you try and get some team coordination in chat, only to receive stony silence in return, In WoT, XVM shows you that you might have 12 different nationalities in your team, and thus probably no commonly spoken language. This language and nationality mix is inevitably a problem in game modes that reply heavily on ad hoc teamwork. Incidentally, playing NA and EU alongside each other over the holiday break, its quite clear that NA is considerably more generous in its "random" giveaways in SCs and Christmas Boxes.... Zathras_Grimm Players 1,438 posts Report post #23 Posted December 31, 2016 Apologies as I know this was featured in another thread but is there a way to change to the NA server with my current account? Like banking etc, it seems silly to stay and be treated poorly (compared to other servers), if there is an easy way to change and be treated better.

Well I try always to follow chat. It is no idea to whine over the language situation, nothing can be done about it. As I play to enjoy the game I try to be active, some times it gives result. Please not ignore chat on the basis that it is meaningless in some games..Remember also that it is easier to react to your suggestions than to answer them. If English is your 2nd/3rd language you have players that are willing to follow instructions but does not write a response. I have no problems to chat in English, it is not much slower than Swedish (my first language), as most Scandinavian players we are versed i English (no dubbing of films etc), speed of course takes priority over grammar/spelling. If somebody writes in German I may respond in German, but more likely in English as it goes much faster. Or simply OK if its an acceptable solution. My theory is that a coordinated average idea done quickly is better than a good idea that the team are slow to respond to. So if someone suggests A+B on a map instead of B+C even if I thought that is better I follow the A+B if the team seems to go in that direction. In games there might be hectic situations where you just could not find room for answers. But I try to follow chat. So you think they are more generous, My impression from some videos was that their numbers of camos/flags were lower in the boxes. Comparing 1$ w 1€ etc.. But I might remember wrong. [H_FAN] Gnirf Players 3,293 posts 67,343 battles Report post #25 Posted December 31, 2016 But the attitude, seems most players in EU don't even want to win games and when someone who wants to win is getting same game, they get frustrated. I respect your opinion but you will probably need to do serious research on all servers to verify that. I play to win the game at the same time as I want to have fun. With short games I can not spend too much time being angry at lost opportunities by teammates as they happen a lot and will continue to do so. If I do that I will perform worse myself. It is better to take a break if you have a few "angry" losses or play a low tier ship that you like for sealclubbing, like Bogatyr ( or Nikolai).
