Do you need a Graf Spee to do the Christmas Convoy Missions? £16 for free stuff......

 

WG must be rubbing their hands together if this is the case judging by the amount of people who have been up in arms over this,  as they now suddenly need a Graf Spee to do the mission.

 

To be honest, I really did not understand all the furore over this in the first place. I for one, will only grind for the free ship, hence making myself ineligible for this mission. My choice. If I want the 'free' Tirpitz camo, £10 gold is cheaper than a £16 Graf Spee.

 

I might be missing something here.......but the ship is not worth much and will be heavily outclassed in 90% of matches (60% of them will be T8 anyway). Just grind it for free.......

well, i think the treatment of the EU is very unfair too, yes. but i stopped caring about that a long time ago when i realized theres lots of ppl who pay(ed) 60€  for ships ( for example tirpitz ).

you get triple A games for 45-60€ when they release, put that in comparison! FULL new  games for the price of a single ship... and other popular ships arent much cheaper aswell...

 

ofc its a free2play game, so they need to earn money, but the prices on EU are stellar... and LOTS of poeple pay these prices !! so ofc EU tries to milk us even more...

and be assured, WG giving us these missions now is NOT because of the shitstorm on the forums, well, maybe just a little bit. but the reality is, most players dont even look on the forums or realized that EU is the cash cow of WG, and many of these players still happily buy overpriced ships and packages, id estimate over 80% (or something similar) of wgs income on EU is from non-forum-reader casual players who dont care and who arent changing their buying-habits.

 

yea, ofc everyone can spend his money as he wishes, hell, i myself tend to spend obscene amounts of money on hardware for example, but in relation, the costs of WOWS stuff is not justified for me, i bought one 30 day premium package when i started playing this game around november 2014, but i quickly realized the crazy prices of EU and never spent a dime again. i would be happily buying premium time and premium ships all the time if the prices were right. i would have spent money every month.. but that way WG got like 15€ once from me instead of potential hundreds... that money went towards my GTX1080 for example, and other hardware.. overpriced hardware yes.. but not as lunatic-overpriced as like i said ships, for the cost of full new games. no thanks. 

 

so in conclusion, yea it was a shitty move from WG to remove content with the purpose to milk us even more... BUT its still good we get this stuff at least, thats just all we wanted.

Well, that part (Graf Spee requirement) was always there - the campaign from the get-go was geared towards people who either bought GS or were pretty hardcore players (to complete the campaign in very limited timeframe left after getting GS for free).

Perhaps WG-EU were actually applying some integrity in making the initial decision not to include such a mission into our region? Who knows. I think I am looking for less stress during gaming, as the tasks on the NA server for the Christmas Missions are doable but could involve some stress and aggravation, so would not be for me. I have had enough of heavy grinds to be honest.

Agreed with the assesment, meaning that only people who bought Spee can do it. Personally they should release it to 1st of February for a compensation, so that everyone can do it.

 

There needs to be a way for Spee grinders to play Convoy too in a meaningful day period too, and this is coming from someone who actually bought Spee because I wont have enough time after new year, so this isnt about me.

Then simply skip them? No one forcing anyone into doing the missions. I find all Japanese DD line stressing, but I dont expect them to be removed from the game because of it - I just dont play them!

What if you already bought some of the camouflages? As we werent getting these missions, I bought the fuso camo two days ago, will we get our doubloons back?

 

Edit: I just read the news, they will give the doubloons back to those that bought those camos.

Funny thing is if you go of off the mission you could see on the PT-Server. The Spee is no requirement.

You need the Mikasa, the Texas and the Tirpitz.

Thank you WG. You made the right choice. A little late and after a big shitstorm, but still the right choice.

So let me get this straight the original mission was on the NA server to:

 

Buy one of the two expensive packages for the Graf Spee at least 79 dollares to then be able to do those missions.

 

EU players get cross they don't get the missions (yeh like everyone would have bought it) but they could do a mission for a free standard Spee

 

Now it is implemented that you can :

1.Buy the Graf Spee lowest for about 19 euro and have a go at January 2 nd at the (new) missions for about 17 days to the 18 th (until19th) or

2.Do the missions we had here on EU to get the Graf Spee for free but then you can do the (new) missions only when you have won the Graf Spee at earliest the 9 th of January - if you finish the mission that day - then have to the 18 th (untill19th) when the mission ends  leaving them about 10 days to do the new missions

 

Finishing all missions will get you a 10pt German cpt.  5 ships: Leander Farrgagut Budyonny Fuso Bayern + 5 slots and camos and camo's for Graf Spee Tirpitz and the players that bought those camo(s) will get compensated with doubloons

 

Not really. We didn't have or would not be getting this second campaign (Santa's Christmas Convoy) at all. Not before we had access to the free Graf Spee nor after.

This was a campaign that every server got except EU.

 

To be able to implement the campaign in the EU and have parity with the other regions, WG will make the Graf Spee un-bundled option available earlier in the other regions as well.
