Great armor, powerful guns (if a bit inaccurate), very fast, relatively maneuverable (mostly due to a powerful engine), torpedoes, great secondaries and better AA than an Atlanta by a good margin. Except Atlanta has access to unlimited AA consumables which grant 300% DPS increase for 40 seconds every 120 seconds to her mid and long range AA and ultimately puts Gneisenau to shame... let’s stay real. He does not mean Gneisenau which as BB obviously doesn't have Defensive AA Fire. Point still stands: Saying Gneisenau is better at AA than Atlanta is fear mongering by forgetting about Defensive AA Fire consumable aka T-Virus, which puts Atlanta so far ahead in terms of AA capabilities its not even the same sport any more. Seriously, why do you not take a closer look at the ship if you are really that interested? Then you would find further differences and maybe find the explanation yourself... My very first salvo landed a citadel in a poor little Brit cruiser, and my last salvo landed a citadel in a North Carolina, thereby gaining me a Confederate award. But yea as other people mentioned, its because it has be different from the Scharnhorst, and the game progression wouldnt make sense if it had 283s. And I actually prefer strong secondaries. Also you never played the SH so I guess you cannot tell if those guns would fit the line.
