Santa Convoy is to challenging and only for the top players, and what is this? For sure a really good compensation for the convoy. I am so spoiled now.

For people like me, its fun and challenging but for the casual, he might as well just go down the American line.

Stage 3 is not that diffcult. If you get 140k damage, you will probably have three kills and be top 4.

Stage 4 has the problem with 10 torpedo hits, the rest is automatic.

Ok, my signature shows my thoughts about WG:EU marketing policies but let me defend them here.

1. First mission just does itself. Boom, done.

2. Second mission is trivial. I don't really play much in secondary-equipped ships so it might be a bit tedious but still - it's just a small bit of grind.

3. Third mission is finally a challenge. Yes, you need a very good game to complete this one, especially if you're playing on lower allowed tiers. HOWEVER the requirements are, in fact, pretty decent. Kill 3 ships and deal 140k damage - basically "do an overall great job". 4 or 5 frags would be frustrating, but 3 on 140k battle? Unless you get it by setting random fires on ships that don't do much, you're almost guaranteed to get these frags! Oh, and 140k damage should guarantee top4 damage too. So, we have a tough but fair mission for 1 mil credits.

4. This is the hardcore one. Yes, 10 torpedo hits are hard and torps love to hit saturated sections so 100k torp damage is pretty hard too. And you need to qualify for top 3 damage - 100k might not be enough (although if you use your guns a bit AND score 100k torp damage, this part shouldn't be much of a problem - though very frustrating if this happens to be the part preventing you from completing the mission). So, we have a hardcore mission (with one slightly questionable but probably mostly irrelevant aspect) for some camos and consumables (geared towards the class you need to complete this stage). This is not a mission for everyone, of course - but it isn't a STUPID mission (like chasing down CVs...). It requires you to play your torp boat as you would normally - and get a great match in it. And if you don't like torp boats, you just end on stage 3, 1mil credits is still a nice addition and you don't miss on some super-awesome unique content, right?

This mission chain is better than many previous iterations. If all weekly mission chains were like this one, I'd be happy with general shape of weekly missions.

I totally agree on the challenging part, but have to disagree strongly on the fun part. And that´s the problem at least for me.

If they were challenging AND fun, as the UK CLs are for me, i wouldn´t complain.

I wonder does any of WG staff managed to get that mission 4 done? Mission 1-3 are good and 3 is nice challenge, but mission 4.... someone must drank some vodka to get that idea for weekly mission.

Yes, as i said in the $hitstorm thread, WG thinks we are idiots or something.

On the one hand, they are telling us this nonsesne about difficulty and otoh they putting up these missions.

They sure know how to...oh wait, they don't.

So in summary:

1 - Press the Battle button 3 times.

2 - Play a BB and don't be a coward.

3 - Put some actual effort in it?

4- Play a DD?

Or alternatively foam at the mouth.

It's not really about the mission, but about the signal WG sends. For the "Santa Convoy"-campaign, WG told us that that challenge would be "too hard for us players to complete in the given timeframe, thus we decided to cull it and make it a purchase option". Then they come up with these missions, which are harder than the Santa-Convoy-requirements, run for 3 days shorter, and don't say that they are too hard to complete.

Something doesn't compute. It just means that their reason given for the scrapping of the Santa Convoy ("being too hard to complete in the Holidays") just became void by having this harder mission which they deem is completable. Again another PR-lie exposed.

Its the bias that makes it fun for me :)

While 4th stage may be slightly over the top, overall I see no serious problem with those specific missions. Not everyone needs to be able to do every mission.

Well most of the weekly missions has been regardless of the new or old (Krakentype) something that you do not concentrate on, if you get a kraken in the tight moment that is fine if not...well I play normal , mission fulfilment is bonus.

The first stages go fine, rest is having a great game at the right moment.

There must also be hard missions for good players, so I have no porbs with that. However, since they pretend they removed the Santa mission due to its difficulty this comes across as very dishonest.

It was already pretty clear when ph3lan made that post that he was lying through his teeth, this just makes it all the more clear. Hardly surprising that when they're incompetent to do their job, they're also incompetent in making up excuses.

I agree that what WG did with the Convoy campaign was a d*** move(biggest f*** up so far) but lately, the community has been needlessly b****y about non-issues as shown by this thread.

Yeah WG pissed off everyone(points for that), so it's time to let the wallets do the talking, not whine because "I dun liek dis mission", "nazi DDs dun play as I invision them!!!",
