I have toyed back and forth about even posting this, but in the end I concluded I would, in the hoped that someone within WG might read it and consider what I'm saying as a viewpoint that might have something to it. And let me be clear I'm not suggesting I'm speaking for anyone but myself.

 

I played WoT for a number of year racked up 12000 games and as someone that enjoyed learning by watching I stayed to the end of almost all of them, I had never played an online game before they had never interested me, but WG and WOT did I even tried WOP when it came out and enjoyed that. In a way I guess I tap into a playerbase that#s unique to these "types" of games who come to it from the historical interest areas and not the gaming ones, having left I'm not playing some other MMO.

 

However, my wish was always to command ships on the high-seas and World of Warships does that better than I could ever imagine(and I don't totally suck!). from the first day of closed Beta I was in love with it, often I would pass my day thinking of things I could do better (yes I don't have a life!) and on top of that on the whole the game has a GREAT playerbase and while I don't know any of you personally, I feel you are my friends (again no life..........)and to top it off from my first day playing this game I have thought it was breathtaking and a great selling point(much more so than WOTs for example)

 

That being said like anything good(and I still love the game), there are always dripping taps that niggle away, for me they where such things as the GNB event, the treatment of players on the EU server and more recently the introduction of the RN cruisers(I will digress a little and say that when they were planning them and in testing I made the comment on the board that they would be hard to play and exclusive(as it happens most of my battles are in Cruisers so it was perhaps less of a learning curve for me than others), anyhow one of the main supertesters went off on me and said that WG would never do that and was offended that I would think the supertesters would remain silent should it happen!!! well go figure one of us was right, one wasn't).

 

Anyway for me the straw that broke the camels back was finding out we are going to get ANOTHER year with 2 of the lines that are coming out are Russian(as if we don't have enough of them already!). However, my plea to WG is this, not for my sake but for those that are remaining please start treating the EU-server with a little less contempt, you have a great product, you have a loyal group of people that are passionate(hell I'm posting on the site and aren't playing any more!)let it grow like it should you have worked too hard and the playbase has put in too much time to simply screw it up like it seems you are intent on doing, Christmas seems like its another opportunity blown and the crazy thing is that as a company WG are quite generous! It really should be rocket science

Two new lines for the RU navy confirmed?

 

Only thing I know about is the DD split with three RU torpedo DDs that will be added sometime. And I'm pretty sure WG was quite specifically saying that whilst they are working on the RU BBs they won't come out in 2017 in favour for other lines and we know they teased with the release of one new line for a nation not yet included (so likely France or Italy) that should come in 2017.

 

Not sure where you got the two new RU lines from (if one considered the three new ships as one new line that's still only one), or did I miss something about another RU ship line in the works? Surely it's not CVs, right!?

 

Anyhoot, don't be stranger and come back when you feel like it.

Aye, Tanks too bud. I kind of have to agree with you on most of your points, Most of the times when i log into this game i honestly just cannot even be bothered, Its not unusual for me to start up the game, Just look at some pretty ships in the dock but not have the enthusiasm to sail them. Haha.

 

Also, coming from tanks, You should be well aware that wargaming ABSOLUTELY ABUSES THE LIVING **** out of its EU playerbase, Were the highest paying playerbase. So they milk the hell out of us, All other servers get free stuff we dont, offers we dont, And cheaper bundles then us.

 

If the US gets a ship or a tank they can just buy it, (Not to mention they can get them for free too!) If we want a ship or a tank we have to spend an utterly stupid amount on some useless bundle we dont want. Thats just the way it is, Were the cash cows of WG.

Should still play if you enjoy it from time to time. Just don't give WG any money if that's how you feel. 

 

The Santa boxes tempt me but all I want is a Gremy and a Nikolai but both would be to seal club. Which probably isn't the right way to go.

Thing is quitting is then cutting your nose off to spite your face. If WG ever bothered me that much (they don't. It's a company. I don't expect companies to be brilliant) I would keep playing but play for free. Your choice though. Have fun in whatever you do

Quitting is the action that does WG the most harm. Fewer players threatens the game even more as people stopping spending money. I admire OP and wish I could bring myself to do this myself.

All these differences do not really bother me.

 

The game itself is actually very good mostly, in comparision to WOT it is leaps ahead because WOT is shite and broken in many ways.

 

We may complain about world of BB but world of arty and gold ammo is alot worse where your armor counts for crapand you can get OHK very easily and are forced to hug a rock for the entire game.

 

If they have crapoffers, do not buy simple as.

I quit for about 8 months and came back to find the game had changed for the better

as all things in life don't burn your bridges as you never know when your gonna go back over em

Invested too much to outright quit, myself, but my wallet is permanently shut if Santa's Convoys don't make it to EU.

 

Straw that breaks the camel back and all that. If I'm going to be treated like a second class citizen then I won't pay in the hopes of being treated like a first class one.

Good post OP.I see a cry from your heart here. I consider WG as a bunch of people (almost) as game crazy as we are. Having created masterpieces of beauty in their world of titles. IMO their weak point is trying to be a multinational.. I didn't mix into the mission discussion cause I don't care. What I am not able to get my mind around is how they treat their costumer this different. Yes slight differences: like I know I'm not paying the same price for a big Mac @ mcD in different countries. But I can buy 1 in every rest. First there was the shipbundle issue and now this. I get it: they want to make a buck. IMO there's consensus that nobody's having a problem with that. In my world POV I would never risk provoking my costumers. Either give somethin to everybody or nobody.

All it needs is another game company to release a good title. I left for a while for Fallout 4, and still play the Frost mod. When I quit World of Tanks (17K battles 55% WR) I thought I might be back someday, but when I watch Jingles videos and see the same old toxic chat, unbelievable idiocy of the players, I just shudder and think no thanks. 

We have a thread on these forums called "Some interesting info from RU". The very fact that it exists tells you all you need to know about the state of the WGEU office and the player base. They do not think it worthwhile for a Wargaming employee to provide regular updates on what is happening, and what the developers are thinking. As long as WGEU report back to Minsk/Cyprus that sales figures are good, then nothing will change. Why should it? If one feeds the golden goose crapevery day, and it still lays golden eggs, why give it good feed?

I also think it is a cultural thing, in so much as customer service in the US is a high priority, whilst in Paris, France, well? Its not known for being good at that.

Nothing will change in the way they treat the player base or the community contributors until we stop spending both time and money on the game, and they know that a few "Western whiners" on forums don't add up to much. But you do have a choice on how you spend your free time and have fun, exercise it wisely.

I'm at that stage now, in the last 7 days I have managed about 11 battles. Enter a battle and I'm like "this is dire again". I couldn't careless what WG EU has done for Christmas time. Found me another game to play on my tablet ( yep a tablet game beats a PC game - how sad is that) and it's 99% less frustrating than this game to play and more enjoyable. WoW has lost it's appeal for myself and most of my friends too. Good luck OP I would say a break from this game would be good but I doubt anything will change when it comes to WG.

Equally as galling is the release of the German DD's, I base some of my plans for grinding up lines looking at early reviews by Flamu/Notser/ichase, these guys released their vids and then WG change the stats of the ships making them totally different, what is the point of giving these guys ships to review then change stats last minute, I had free xp'ed up to the point I wanted only to find the gameplay is far and away different to what was on the cards. The gun fire detection range now makes capping/knife fighting extremely risky with poor turning circle/speed, sitting back with the BB's in a DD is not my cup of tea.

I understand where you're comming from. I've played WOT since its closed beta(diff acount)aswell and passsed the 10k  battles in that game and ive seen it gone to hell. 

Now about WOWs.....i'm starting to get the same feeling here. It's not just how WG is treating the EU community no no...they're up to their old tricks....rember how they basically killed off the whole light tanks VS arty meta? yea, any1 seen any high tier CV's lately?...en fin you get my point.

 

OP I hope some time away from this game will respark you interrest, but somehow I doubt it....so take care!.

Maybe just take a break, like i do sometimes.I just take a break, maybe 2-3 moonth and comes back.  Go play another game, have fun. Then one day you return and find it fun again.

If a game get you(to serious) there is always a time to get out of it. Everyone needs a break, even from wows

Yes, there is another game a bit like this, but I did not enjoy it at all. Unfortunantly, WGs main competitor decided to not release a WOWS competitor, so guess you are stuck here if you want a decent capital ship MMO.

when i'm trying this i'm always redirct to eu server. pls help
