WG are you mad with that Detonations crap?

Tonight I try to play this game after short break Fun and engaging experience like never before....

3 battles with DDs and TWO detonations  *I will never use detonation flags in randoms but this is more than unlucky

This game deserve not to play only

If point of detonations is Please Dont Play Our Game I will do that with pleasure

38. Mines may be possible in PvE but not PvP. Mines cause sudden deaths of enemies or suicide of allies, both of which are not popular.

 

 

Detonations...fun and engaging.

Anyone get that feeling of deja vu? Feels like we have been here before, many times. Plenty of other threads on this topic.Detonations, because in real life catastrophic explosions in ships DO happen, adds spice, keeps it real, etc, etc, etc.....

I feel that they have increased the chance of detonations. I had many more of those recently, including four BB detonations from torpedo hits in one week. Also seeing more detonations around. Does anyone else have the feeling? Is this a measure to make some signals more useful than they are? Is this a side-effect of a subtle change in the penetration mechanic. Or pure tinfoil bait?

WG should bring detonations to the forum for boring, repetitive threads/posts by the same players.

I haven't been detonated for awhile. 

 

You can just install that 70% Detonation reduction mod if you don't want to farm Anti Detonation flags :sceptic:

Want to talk about the Hood and a 'couple' of others from history? few and far between. Yes, this topic has been done to death and will keep being raised. It can be a very frustrating mechanic for new players and it can seem to be unfair.

How about some advice and less elitism?

 

For the new players: WG want you to have some difficulty (was going to say suffer, but would not be fair) at lower levels, and in some ships more than others, so you will perhaps spend bucks on flags and premium services and ships. Nothing wrong with that... It's a business.

 

Use the flags on vulnerable ships (cruisers mainly), you will get more.  Learn to play by avoiding situations that put your ship at risk. Keep playing to grind your way up.

Ah DD's gotta love them. They are the first ships to be targeted as a rule and rightly so. In the hands of a skilled player (at any tier) they are deadly :)

That the DDs are prone to detonation with at least some regularity can be seen as a compensation that they lack citadel. For a Battleship/cruisers that is trying to kill a DD it should not be a monsteramount of hits compared with a cruisers, so instead of giving the DDs a citadel it is not unreasonable that with a large part of the ship with sensitive stuff unshielded they must have some mechanic that mirrors that. Otherwise they be too strong. A cruiser you can delete with a few sakvos in a battleship, a DD can not be too strong (all overpens etc).

But Honestly this and one deto in my Fletcher was all what i did or happed to me in the last 3 month or so if I look at my stats  1 deto happens to me every 111 games thogh they tend to pile up. I think my Atlanta dedonated pretty often so i thoght its probably linked to turret destruction at least for DD guns.

Use the flags.

 

In a recent match I played a BB which was not even built for secondaries. It fired a single secondary shell at a turning DD, at the maximum range of it's secondaries. The DD exploded. I giggled.

The general average is around 1 detonation in every 100 battles or so, even for the OP. Hardly worth crying about really. Mine is about that but should go up as I have over 300 anti detonation flags thanks to a super container.

 

nb - Waxx, no point in arguing with 10 year olds :P

None for weeks and then three in two days, maybe just unlucky?

 

 

Same for me this past weekend, haven't been detonated for what feels like ages then 3 in a 5 games at the weekend.

 

1st Zao full health.

2nd Fiji I think, I was very low health near the end of the match so it didn't matter, I had done my part. 

3rd again the Fiji with the first shell that hit me half way into the game, that was annoying as I had done loads of damage so far.

 

I swear detonation are like buses, they all come along at the same time.

 

Back when I was a newbie grinding the USN BB line I had just unlocked the NC, first game I took a torpedo under the turret full health, detonation. 2nd game torpedo similar place detonation, 3rd game fine, 4th game shell as I was running away in the booty, detonation. I started sailing my NC with Juliet Charlie after that.

 

All said and done, over 5k games and only had 47 detonation, annoying when it happens in the first salvo or your destroying someone and you go boom but funny when you make someone else go boom, like a German BB, that is funny. I don't mind the mechanic but I do think losing a full health ship is a unfair handicap for a team from a rng based event.

Oh look, a detonations thread.......thats novel.

 

Lets face it, we have all suffered from, and given out, our fare share of detonations. But we now have ship upgrades as well as flags that reduce the chance of recieving them.

 

If you think its bad for you now, you should have played the Karlspoo when it first came out. Ships only had to look at you to get detonated. I laugh when I give them, I laugh when I get them.

Detonations are a historically accurate way of throwing a large lump of random luck into a battle 

they happen pretty rarely and we give as well as receive so I have no issue with them being there

Only one out of 16000 people worldwide gets murdered. Only 1 out of 150 gets AIDS. Hardly worth all that fuss.

 

Edit: I dont want to compare video-game explosions to serious RL problems. What I want to say is that BS stays BS, no matter how rare it is. Justifying nonsense with "hey its rare" is actually stupid.

Still think it's funny. Nearly as funny as seeing this thread pop up again every week.
Today managed to detonate a fulllife Hipper with 420-blaze-it-guns of Friedrich at the start of the match.
