You don't get bans for a single silly word, you must have been abusing the chat and collecting reports for quite a long time before. Anyway good luck in your endeavour to get a forum ban as well.

First experimental results are in and no, doesn't seem to work. Maybe no Polish people around to take offence for whatever reason, but anyway, repeated the experiment 5 times, impact on karma: zero.

Then again, ingame censor filters are often terrible.

 

I got a chatban from Armored Warfare because I found out that "Mustard" was censored because of the "tard" in it, and after having announcement it amusingly during the CBT phase of the game to other players ingame for a few matches in a row, boom, chatban.

Nope, you get a chat ban when people dump enough report on you, no manual intervention required. 

 

edit: which is funny right, since on forums the +- votes where removed because they told us it was 'toxic' and the community was unable to self moderate, yet they introduce something like 'Karma' and automated systems which hands out chat bans if enough salty people report you. Ah... logic... I think I can help out here... The chat ban system exists, because WG have no intention of actually moderating the game. Not because they think the playerbase is capable of self-moderation, but because they think a simple 'click here to vent' system will serve well enough in the displacement activity department and prevent players from actually making too much of a fuzz about constantly getting insulted, while the forum as a whole is pure displacement activity anyway, so a second system would be redundant and not cost-efficient.

I would really like to see the chatlogs for your games of say the past month or so, as I can be quite blunt in chat but I'm no where near getting as many reports as you 

 

ps if you continue on this path I think you will be looking at a permanent chat ban in the not so distant future.

I must admit, I have noticed myself getting a little blunt, and salty in recent months. I haven't resorted to insults or bad language, but I am becoming a little intolerant. If it were possible to turn off the in-game chat, as you can in WoT, I would turn it off for a while. I feel a rumbling in the force.

Well i estimate that i was chatbanned around 90-100 days this year. If i didnt get it yet, i wont in the future either ..

Indeed. I've had a couple occasions were 2-3 man divisions spent all their remaining reports on me, usually for things like suggesting that maybe they were in no position to complain about a loss (or to complain about a win were they sunk). But I've yet to get a chat ban for this. So if something should happen to one person that often, then it's not random any more that it keep happening to him (or he's simply lying about the frequency).
