Well, to be honest, new sounds are just awful. New voices or actually the english one sounds like a teenager for example. Morover, i don't know why you decided to add it, but this new dripping sound that pop up every time is absolutely horrible ! It's just unbareable.  :ohmy:

 

Please, dear developpers, give us back our good old 0.5.15 sounds  ! Please !

In my first game, noticed that when players use standard messages, they are played in their respective national language.

Is this new?
I don't have them enabled on live server.

If so, I do like it!

If not, then I still do and may turn them on again!

Honestly the sounds are terrible for some reason SFX volume also affects gun fire sounds and interface sounds affect sounds like switching weapon and shell type.

just keep the sounds the way they are we don't need the changes

I actually like the new voice overs. They are fresh and very good to hear and understand. They do sound less tough so that is a downside.

2 minutes on the server, and that drippy water-tap ping-y sound already freaks me out.

 

Disabled the interface sound because of this, please just remove it again, it's super annoying.

I like the new music with the electronic sounds. The music build up alot of suspense. But that isn't always good. I think it can be very annoying when you are just sailing around a bit and the music suggest an epic colusion between battleships.

The sound can work up to a climax but the gameplay is not in sync with that so it feels off.

Also. I don't always play the game for the suspense. Sometimes it is relaxing to play this and this music doesn't support that feeling.

I also have to say that the new gun sounds are really bad.

 

Big minus.

I tried the Cleveland and the gun sound is just annoying and has no feeling of shooting guns anymore.

Same for me, just take a quick look on the Testserver but noticed this straight away! What a horrible ping sound!

The Japanese cruiser guns sound horrible as well. It sounds like I'm blowing up a tube of Toothpaste that additionaly contains metal shrapnels, with every shot that I fire. 

 

Also the "ping sound" does annoy a bit. It's just too much of a noise for every upgrade that you mount.

Yes, that new 203 mm sound (I assume it is the same for all, but I heard it just before on the Atago) is just awful all together. It sounds more like 100 mm destroyer pee shooters. Just keep that one as it is, it sounds quite suitable. Or if you think that pee shooter sound is more fitting, you should reduce the gunfire penalty on all IJN 203 mm guns to an even more fitting 3 km :trollface: .

 

On a further note: I am quite content with the Cleveland sound though. Was surprising to hear that change but it isn't annoyingly bad.

Yep, came to report that dropping thingy... The players hate the high frequencies... also i do not get why the UI sounds needs to be "polished" guns ok try to be more accurate, but UI, keep that what works!

The weird noise in port when you select an option in the interface?

Yeah, that'll get annoying really fast.

This isn't a new change, but please remove the jarring 'base cap siren' from Bastion mode. It has its place in Standard battle, where the friendly base being capped immediately decides the outcome of the match, but not in Bastion mode where capping and recapping points is part of the ebb and flow of the match.

The radio effect is an effect, I rather prefer to have a volume ontrol on Battle voice over like "General quart..." too loud, "Tic, toc, last 5 min.." and so on, and a separate one that is from my team and my ship.

Cannon sound are a ling of distorted at low volume where I keep them, no bass , midlle bass frew.

The radio slider is a good option but i wish for a tickable option for Distance related effect application. Further the broadcaster more Radioish the sound wich effect's max value is the slider's position..

It could be did by the main distance parameter as an absolute (lower tiers get less effect as max), or in relation with the map's diameter (relative).

The reports about gun sounds are interesting, as there were no changes made to them in this update - if the gun sounds feel different to you in the PT, could you please provide:

  • Screenshot of your sound setup on PT
  • Preferably also short video demonstrating the sound?

I was wondering myself until I realised that the PTS just had different settings enabled - and is resetting them possibly after updates. 

Changing the sound-settings back to my Live-server-client-settings, everything sounds familiar again.

Since my post I also switched off "Wide"

Aldo even keeping engine on max level, Can't here as much as in the previous releases

I play the game mostly with headphones.

 

And please level down the initial voice " General quarters" "Action stations" at least of 3/5 db! Thank you!

With the update today the cruiser gun sound changed again. Even though my public test and normal client sound options are exactely the same and they were before the point of the update as well. 

 

It still sounds a lot like the cruisers are "squeezing" out the shells rather then firing them. Now there's more bass in it, but it's still different from the live server.

Hm. Have you compared the same cruisers?  Cleveland shooting sounds "pff" while Kutuzov goes "WOOM" :hmm:

I think the 'dripping' sound was removed? I don't hear it any more. Can anyone confirm?
