German and Japanese ports?

Quick question to WG devs: Russia has two ports (the Black Sea and St. Petersburg), as does the US (Hawaii and New York). According to leaked 5.16 patch notes the Brits will get theirs too. Neither the Germans nor the Japanese have their own. Is there any chance for Wilhemshaven, Bremerhaven, Sasebo or Kure?

One of the reason's why I'd love to have Kure in game... [large picture]

Isn't there a Pink flowers IJN port?

Or is that via a mod...

No, it's real. It's pretty, but I don't use it much since it gives me a sort of LSD-kind of feeling. And the ship camos come out with a weird lustre to their colours.

Oh, and I guess the Yokosuka port is technically Japanese, although it will allegedly be closed down at the end of the year.

Zipangu is a Japanese port and the most beautiful one in my opinion. The little tugboat and the planes really makes it outstanding.

(Also includes kawaii cherry blossom)

Kure, Wilhelmshaven and maybe Truk should probably come at some point. Zipangu is nice but a bit too unrealistic and 'crouching tiger hidden dragon' for my tastes :p.

The new London port: https://i1.wp.com/worldofwarships-na.gcdn.co/dcont/fb/image/tmb/a815b938-be59-11e6-94b4-d89d6715223c_1200x.jpg

Personally, I wish for a port in scandinavian fjords

A capital idea! My Tirpitz would cut an excellent figure against the serene beauty of the Alta Fjord!

And then we could have the French port of Mers-el-Kébir, with the beached wreck of the Dunkerque, to make her feel properly appreciated as well...! :hiding:

The London port looks great, by the way!

The London port does look nice.  I wonder whether it will look squashed with a Yamato GK or Midway parked up in the Thames.

I'd love a occupied Scandinavian Fjord port too, while a port is just a port I still prefer it to look functional... hence why My yokosuka port is modded with a Hawaii skin XD

while pretty, New york, London, Putinberg and Zipangu are just pointless. give me WW2 Yokosuka port, Gibraltar or Wilhemshaven anyday

The Grosser Kurfürst is currently busy, as it is, in fact, the town of Himmelsdorf from WoT that has put to sea.

I know this, because it was in that Jingles video.

Yeah, I'd like one that is a bit more toned down in it's stereotyping. Zipangu looks more like a caricature of Japan than an actual place.

I'd love to see WW2 era Yokosuka (Tokyo), Kure (Hiroshima), Maizuru, or Sasebo (Nagasaki).

Having German ports is going to give me nostalgia for Silent Hunter 3.

French could have Mers-el-Kebir or Toulon. Italians could get Taranto or La Spezia.

Malta would also be awesome as a alternative RN base.

In order to please our German overlords, I would like to suggest Norway, more specifically Trondheim (yes, mapmaker from WG/Lesta, I know you are fond of this city, so get going!). I mean, you have the historical backdrop as well as beautiful scenery:

Air photo from British bombers before/during the disastrous attack in 1940 (forum didn't like the extension/format of the picture)

(The last one is probably from 1946)

One more (not sure about the year of this one):

Alternatively, just create a fjord so that Tirpitz can feel at home .

While it's true that both the Philippines and Zipangu could be considered to be Japanese bases, what I meant was that it'd be nice to have a proper Japanese naval arsenal, hence my suggestion of Kure or Sasebo. Truk would be nice too.

Take a look at Truk Lagoon. Does this look familiar? "Philippines" perhaps?

There's only one problem with this though - Truk lies further away from the Philippines than Saipan or Guam. That's quite a long trip, visual similarities notwithstanding.

Will the fjord port come with smoke generators to add verisimilitude to the scene? It should save on drawing time!

Kiel canal has always been the most famous place to photograph German warships. :great:

With high bridge and steam train overhead! :great:
