Pertaining to this news item:

http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/common/mighty-mo-is-here/

While 750k is clearly expensive, it comes to my attention that (promotions and discounts considered) the price of this ship isn't actually massively out of line with price progression for premium ships:

Tier 7 = 7500 dubloon,

Tier 8 = 11000 dubloons (EU 38.84)

Thus 11000/7500 = 1.47

Therefore: Tier 9 (Projected) = 11000 x 1.47 = 16170 (EU 46.8)

750k free XP = 30,000 dubloons under normal conditions (EU98.8)

However during conversion discount 35k free XP per dubloon, thus: 750k/35 = 21429 dubloons (thus EU 72.41)

I also purchased most of dubloons during Paypal discount (-15% iirc)

Thus optimal price =  72.41 x 0.85 = EU 61.54

61.54 (optimal price)/ 46.8 (projected tier 9 premium price) = 1.31

Thus the Missouri is only about 31% or so more expensive than what would be a regular premium at tier 9, even if you pay its entire price with dubloons.

Therefore if anyone wants this ship and can wait, I advise holding off till the relevant promotions come again.

Its still absurdly expensive whichever way you try to put it i suggest you unlock a separate line up to tier 10 instead will probably be cheaper.

And now calculate the time it needs, to get this ship that we are supposed not needing to pay for, and which is supposedly simple to get, without spending money.

They are hiding a price behind the real money XP conversion mechanism.

I've personally got nothing else I want to level up to T10.

RU DD aren't my style (I stopped at Trashkent). USN DD I'm happy to stay Benson and level up naturally. Same with IJN CV and RN Cruisers.

Only thing is if RN BB come out I'll definitely be using some free XP.

Exactly , only cheese in the mousetrap is free , i dont mind buying normal premiums but this is too much if you got free xp save it for a new line of ships.

1. I would buy it if it would be a good ship. Iowa is not a good ship nor fun to play. There are only a few T9 ships which can stand on their own in a T10 heavy matchmaking (Fletcher, Ibuki, Udaloi...) Iowa is not one of them.

2. You can spend your money in a much more efficient way, buying perma-camos for your favourite T10 ships, turning them into T8 premiums credits-wise. More freedom to choose, and a much cheaper solution.

I'll get this tub Thursday for sure..

I'm sat on nearly 900,00 Free XP.  That gives me enough to unlock all the modules on Neptune [note edited] when I get her (I'm taking the RN CLs all the way up the line).

What?  Yea, I'm certain they added a tier 9 premium with the expectation that everyone gets it for free:sceptic:

It is no wonder that people get so outraged when their starting point is that.

Exactly my point. But why do they camouflage the actual intend? They could have just put an actual price tag on it and be done with it.

*grins*

I think you have plenty free xp for that one :-P

I will probably get the missouri when i get the "im rich" flag bundle for the graf spee and use the dubloons out of that package to convert.

Hopefully this isnt time limited, if it is i wont even bother trying to get this, im sitting on 118k free xp, i have over 2 mill sitting on ships waiting to be converted, but i cant afford the dubloons to do the conversion. Before people say get a job, or get a better job, I CANT. I'm disabled and cant work, so I'm on  very limited income and im looking at about 1 years available free income to purchase  enough dubloons for this.

Thanks Wargaming

Bit of harsh truth coming. Good that you can't afford it. You're the definition of the problem i've got with this premium ships coming. You averaged [i EDITED AND HIDDEN THE STATS CAUSE ITS APPARENTALLY HUATEFULL]. You are the last thing tier 9 gameplay needs. Earn an iowa by yourself, take it to avg 50k dmg over last 50 battles and then buy a missouri. I would find it very frustrating to have You be in top ship on my team with your skills.

That's only my opinion and sorry but not sorry. If i'm the only one thinking this way i'll shut up.

Nearly as good as selling this is having people play lots of games to get it.  Lots of players is good for WoWS and WG.

I'm not sure either. I have 250k free xp on my account now. 3 M fee xp stocked on ships. I always use free xp fo the upgrades. Don't want to suffer through stock hulls. And AFAIK Mo is an Iowa with radar. I kind of having a "love-hate" relation with Iowa: either I shred everybody to pieces or I only miss, bounce or overpen. Furthermore I'm a bit "anxious" for the "Yamato effect." (Hey, it's a Yamato. let's focus it out because it's a Yamato).

I'll just wait and see what the cat brings home. Reviews and stats. Maybe I'll take it.

You averaged 35k dmg over 120 battles in north carolina with 42% win ratio,  15k !!!!! avg damage in new orleans over 45 battles with 37% wr and 37k avg damage over 80 battles in tirpitz with 56% win ratio. Personally speaking, I play the game for fun. I started as an utter potato, doing sod all damage and constantly showing broadside and have battled my way to being average at best. Not everyone will be MLG, does that mean they shouldn't play? It is a game after all.

I wouldn't have a problem with "lots of games". I do have a problem with "a mountain of games that will take years to complete". No sane F2P user is going to ever earn it. Most of them will have moved on to other games by the time they might have played enough games to have the necessary amount.

I already did an example post in another thread earlier but I'll repeat the math for this one.

A normal player earn 5 % of his ship XP as FreeXP.

To earn even 100 FreeXP a normal (non-premium, no flags, no premium ship, no nothing) will need to earn an average of 2000 base XP in every battle, so this number is already very gracious.

750000 necessary FreeXP devided by 100 is 7500 games that need to be played.

If one game take on average 12 minutes, those 7500 games will take a total of 90000 minutes of time playing this game.

90000 minutes are 1500 hours.

1500 hours are 62.5 days.

That is nonstop gaming time, with a clearly above average performance, to even have a chance to earn this ship. Without sleep, without eating, without time for other necessary bodily functions.

If you only play 2 hours per day, equaling in 10 games per day, it will take such a player 750 days to complete the mission. More then two whole years. Each game played less per day,  each point less average FreeXP earned per battle, or even every minute added to the average game time will increase this time massivly.

In that time no free XP can be spend on anything else.

That is one epic grind. I haven't seen anything comparable anywhere yet.

No... Wargaming has no intention that any free player will ever have access to that ship. They want to sell it one way or another. By selling flags, premium ships, premium time and XP conversion. The FreeXP price is nothing but a masquerade.

Excuse me. but can I politely ask you to tone down? You don't know what his/ (her) disability is! Maybe he has poor eyesight in which case those numbers are great. I know what it is to have a disability. Though nothing too serious and I can function perfectly fine with it: I'm slightly dyscalulatic (is like dyslexia, only not with letters but with numbers). It always takes me that extra half second to "process" the numbers before taking a shot. I think if I could have acces to the absolute not to be talked about taboo mod, that would in fact for me be the same help as the rightfully implied colorblind mod for those disabled persons. But even bringing the Aim assist up in a discussion always ends up being, metaphorically speaking, me being lynched by an angry crowd. When I only sugesting it as an assist for my disability. Not to cheat in any way!

IMO those things are pissing me off a bit: some disabilities (color blindness) are being taken care off and others (mine: discalculy) are slahed away as "cheating" with an assist an calling people with a disabilty bad players whithout even knowing the background situation of those people. I dare say I know a thing or two about disabilities from my profession...

Not at all. I'm just saying WG has a proper way easing people into play with grinding new ships. You start slow, then you get better, faster ships and you gradually learn how to play. Throwing new players into tier8/9/10 battles makes it very frustrating for both sides. Maybe new player doesn't care if he wins - that's ok, but he is ruining the game for his teammates. Have some consideration for your fellow men and learn to play before buying top tier ships. Imagine some random guy playing for your team in world cup - that would piss you off wouldn't it?

I don't judge gamers by their disability but for the game they play. And if you think that tone is to high wait for this guy to get into tier 9 game and i guarantee you he is going to hear much worst than this. I'm trying to help him and myself.

Well to be honest i was a little shocked with the pricing of the new Missouri since 750k EXP is a crapTonne of EXP.

I dont need to pull my Calculator to tell you with thise some you could easly reach tier 9-10 just like that and you would be greeted with 6-7 new ships to buy.

To be honest i was thinking maybe 400-500k but this is a little bit expansive.

In counter there are poeple who already have all ships unlocked and dont know where to put there Free EXP then yes it would be considerable but at the moment for the average play this ship is to price and to stupid to buy right now. Upgrade rather your own ship lane then buy a Special ship that can be bought anytime later on since i believe this ship will not be removed from the game.

Erm, you're comparing it to the standard price on t8 premiums who themselves are on sale quite frequently, and they don't force you to use multiple different sales to get the better price (how many would want to make a paypal account merely to get this rebate if they don't already use it?)

That comparison only works if you compare the cheapest way to get those t8s to the cheapest ways to get a missouri.

Let's tackle it from another perspective. The Missouri is certainly not aimed at a newcomer with 0 battles under his belt. However, WoWS has plenty of veterans with loads of assets idling in port, without a meaningful way to use them.

I certainly appreciate that WG offers this ship in this way.
