In fairness though, USN could do with a tier 8 premium, they've been long overdue one. Still, I agree that I'd like to see more unique ships come in (2017, you better be good to us!).

Really? And the IJN aren't over due a decent Prem BB of any sort?

I would instantly buy an AA equipped Kongo. E.g just a late war one, like what the Texas went through...

Please WG? :sceptic:

The only thing that got upgraded on Kongo AA-wise was adding a *edited*-ton of those 25mm guns (Haruna carried 118 barrels total in 1945). These do about 2 dps per barrel (taken from Yama), having 118 of them would net you 236 dps at 3.1km base range. Count in the DP guns and total base DPS value tops out at around 276.

Means a late war Kongo would have more AA power than a top hull Cleve at close range. Yeah, I'd buy that, too.

Well other then Tosa class, any of those premiums would have bad repercussions for eventual national tree.

Tosa would ruin chances of an IJN BC line. Jean Bart, Vittorio Veneto or Roma, and Prince of Wales are all likely candidates for tier 8 premiums however.

If tier 8 was long overdue then Texas, Arizona and even Missouri shouldn't have been introduced in the first place.

Why do anyone even think 2017 will change anything? 2016 was proof enough. In 2017 we'll see more US premiums, more Soviet premiums, some German premiums and everyone else get one or two.

Awwwww yeeeees :great:

however, they better stick an actual realistic and historical camo on her before release. This will do:

That would probably be vaguely ok as Tex AA is for self defence and can't really provide an umbrella for others. Besides WG hate CV so they'll have no issues with releasing something that will hate on them more :teethhappy:

so it doesnt get the NCs buffed citadel protection and is treated like Iowa and Montana

some screens from gm3d

(note funky propeller placement)

Are those pictures a bit stretched/narrowed or is the South-Dakota class really fat compared to North Carolina and Iowa?

All three ships share the same beam (maximum for Panama canal locks) and South Dakota is the shortest. So short answer (pun intended)... yes.

Slightly concerned about the shape of the bow, looks a little bit too narrow and sharp, but overall not a bad model.

P.S. the weird prop arrangement was because of an idea that the outer shafts (and their skegs) would protect the inner ones from torpedo damage.

Well, the thing is to choose between the Kii and the Tosa. One of those should be premium and the other, in the BB line

And I will stop the off-topic here :hiding:

Wow, really? She looks 1,5x as wide. The NC and the Iowa (ingame) comparibly have much less space between the turrets and the edges of the deck.

They could barely fit two turrets across the width of the ship while the Alabame looks like she could fit three.

Perhaps it's just the way the models are shown. The angles could be screwing with my perception.

Yay, more boring, redundant and unimaginative US premium BBs. It seems WG haven't met their quota on sucking off NA players this year.

The US is the only nation without a significant tier 8 premium at present.  suggest another candidate.  I mean yes i would dearly love CV-6 but thats not coming any time soon.  I don't think a US tier 8 premium CA would work and they've already got the paypal benson

US without tier 8 but they have tier a premium on many other tiers including tier 9 soon. Meanwhile, some nations have massive holes and could really use a premium.

Not sure why a tier 8 premium is such a big deal, especially since there are plenty of tier 7 prems and a tier 9 that is coming soon.

She has much wider lines, only getting narrower closer to the extreme bow/stern.

Well, she has the same beam as North Carolina (33m), but is 10m shorter in length. She also has all her DP guns mounted on her (much wider) superstructure unlike NC which has her outermost turrets mounted on the main deck.

So yeah, she's a little... pudgy.

cos tier 8 is the best one for farming credits and xp which is normally what a premium ship is for. Japan has a premium 8, Russia has one, Germany has one.  The Missouri will probably cost an absolute truck load of free xp

Isn't it WG policy to have T8 as the "top" tier for their Prem ships (not withstanding the odd special) and general competitive stuff?

If Alabama is on the cards then I'm withholding buying NC Permanent Camo and I'm certainly not going Missouri!

It's partly why I think Permanent Camo should transform a ship into a full blown Premium ship. With all the relevant buffs...
