Is there a GOD-mode cheat?

It was this Kuma:
Hit him a couple of times with HE - made 660 dmg, then he took 2 torps (9620 dmg), that made two floodings, and took him down to 88HP.
After that I hit him 15 times w. HE at close range, and did ZERO dmg.
 

And I was not the only one fire at him.

Edit.. I just learned something about damagepools today..

Yes there is GOD-mode cheat. You activate it by pressing Alt-F4 in the battle

Ok the others are not being very clear.

 

All ships have Hit zones 3-5 i believe depending on ship size. to keep it simple lets take 3 hit zones

 

Bow/Midships and Stern each have a hitpoint pool

 

If you have taken all the hit points from lets say the Bow and Midships section they are effectively destroyed any more hits in those sections do nothing.

 

Look at ship you are firing on if the section you are hitting is blackened and showing lots of damage and your hits are doing nothing, Try shifting you fire to a different section of the ship..

A replay could be handy in figuring out what really happened. However it could just as well be damage saturation as the other guys (or girls) have said above (and probably below) me as well.

Did you fire into the armor belt, or superstructure ?

 

Mixed, I tried everything. It was crazy..

Got 9 penetrations.

That confirms it you were hitting a destroyed section (no hitpoints left)

its called the low HP noob shield!

nearly finished ships are so destroyed, that you cannot harm them any longer, so that they live longer

only method is to spread ur shots over the whole ship to find that very left hitbox, that keeps this 1 magic HP to hit.

 

welcome to the world of RNG and carry mechanics

All ships have Hit zones 3-5 i believe depending on ship size. 

 

3 and 4. 3 for destroyers, 4 for the others. The four being: Bow, middle, stern and superstructure. Destroyers lack the superstructure section (it's part of the middle section for them).

All ships used to have four sections, but destroyers had the superstructure section combined with the middle section, probably because it would quickly soak up damage from being depleted (50% depletion obviously reduce damage a lot), as well as the incredible ease at setting two fire on a destroyer by just hitting it in the middle.

Hi

 

This is very good video about it.. As you can see what happens on 4 minutes -> that ship not taking anymore damage, but after he repairs he took again a damage, but that because fixing light damage blaa blaa blaa.. not important on this topic, but yes as long as he doesn't get his health back, he can take as much hit as he want

If you don't want to bother with aiming at a non-depleted section just switch to AP. AP overpens always do 10% damage. Even DD AP finishes the job eventually.

With HE, you'll have to search for undamaged sections of the ship that HE can penetrate, in most cases these areas are in the superstructure.

Well, read this thread again, the explanation is right there, it's called damage saturation.

As it was explained above: Your ships has multiple "hitboxes" and if one of these boxes wents to 0 HP you cannot damage it any more. Torpedoes very often "saturate" one of these boxes (especially on DDs).
