Yeah well, I suppose its another sort of endurance test: Only if you can stand the test of waifu- pony- and meme-spam, only then you are truly worthy and ready for the strains of being a true Scrub/Scrubette (or one of the sister clan variants).

 

Anyway to appease the great wrath of one of our "evil Overlords™": Scrubs were able to help rebalance  Eclaire from TTT and somebody else from WGP2L ......

Also apologies to the poor chaps that had to endure me salting the ocean. I good pizza (thanks to Lanfear for the inspiration!) really helped cool down my temper ... there's nothing you can't cure with a damn hot pizza (all those tips started paying off: pizza delivery clocks in at an average of 15 minutes as opposed to the starting 30 minutes!) full with extra cheese, pepperoni salami, yallapennos and as much chili spices as is possible without the thing being literally on fire!

Scripted or not, it did still entertain me. If scripted, they are at least decent actors. On the other hand, I have seen enough this woman logic/thinking + acting with feelings that I can easily believe it to be non scripted.

So, in light of technical difficulties with Discord, I seriously have to question the necessity for switching to that over the existing TeamSpeak.

 

I have a dynamic IP that changes every day. That's how my ISP does the internet. That's afaik how all ISPs in my region do their internet. That means every flippin' day I get the "new log-in location detected, please verify your account" when I wish to log into Discord ... then because Discord is apparently lazy as hell, it takes five or more minutes for the bloody email to arrive ... but if that wasn't annoying enough already, now apparently I can't hear ANYTHING when I actually get into our Discord despite not having changed any settings (neither on Discord nor on my own hardware or PC sound settings).

 

So not only is this Discord a real PITA to just log-in, but it evidently randomly decides to not bloody work at all.

 

We have a working TS3 server. We can use WG's WoWs TS3 server. Can someone please explain to me why we need to switch to Discord now?

There is no need to change. And who has even made these claims? At least not the clan leaders afaik.

It's not official, but our TS is empty and everyone I know has switched to Discord ... which is just dandy because it doesn't work for me, so now I can't play with folks anymore.

No need to switch. It is not official, though apparently quite a few are using it now (so therefore I run it as well to keep up). The TS servers will not shut down! For one, the clan TS is my own server, so that will always stay online as long as I have a working ISP. And I don't think the official WoWs TS will shut down anytime soon :).

I can also say that any "official" clan stuff will be run from TS for sure.

 

I am quite sad to hear of your problems with discord though. Dynamic IP is not unusual... So this must be affecting more people. Might be the reason why we are seeing multiples of some people on Discord.

I myself do have some connection issues (it takes a few minutes to connect to any speech channel for some reason for example).

 

Also... it almost seems like an ingame channel might be usefull. If only WG would realise how absolutely crap their chat system works (you know, by actually running the game and trying to talk to friends).

 

In any case, no drama. Just something that was done because some people were already using discord I guess. No need to follow.

This is the important point. Divisions may use what ever V-Comms they want to, but if we have any "official" clan stuff (CW?), SCRUB will use TS.

 

 

Overall it would be (imho) better to have just one V-Comm where everybody is, but at least the ingame chat is attended by almost everyone, so there you can contact pretty much the whole clan.

Tbh I kinda refuse to use Discord too. TS is working just fine, needs very little attention, is simple as f and best of all: I dont have to download, register, set up stuff just to be exactly where I am right now. Needs much more peer pressure right now to get me to switch (and good luck with that, I am still using a phone that can ONLY deal with calls and SMS, even tough I could have had a lot of free smartphones by now).

I've been preferring Discord lately as it offers more of a community feel with all the extra features, proper chat rooms, custom emojis, embedded images etc.

Also because had to reinstall everything and lost all the TS data for the umpteenth time. The voice quality on Discord is no different either, better in fact compared to some of the TS servers I've been on, and certainly more consistent.

But that's just my personal preference lol. I get that some of us Scrubs are resistant to changing for their own reasons.

In the meantime, I decided to just make a simple hat lottery for the remaining two König Albert bonus codes I got from Gamescom.

Considering the ship is soon to be removed from the premium store permanently, I urge that ONLY members of the clan that don't already own it apply for the lottery (just quote or mention me in this thread saying you want to participate).

 

I'll collect the names, write them on paper pieces, put all that stuff into my WG cappy, then draw two pieces and PM the lucky fellas with their codes.

 

I don't want to set a particular deadline just yet and if I do, I'll make it known in this thread (and ONLY in this thread!).

 

In other news, @WolfGewehr already had the König Albert and opted to get the WoT PzKpfW. IV code instead. I had already PMed him with the code though, so I'll leave up to him to decide what to do with it. Might be he already gave it away, might be he'll do his own lottery ... you can find out by relentlessly spamming his inbox with questions  

 

Now excuse me, I have to scream maniacally at my PC to stop being such a pussy and download faster (I hear it helps). Hopefully see y'all ingame tomorrow.
