ARP Ships - Questions

Hello,

 

Ok now that I have bunch of ARP ships in my Yokosuka port (and let me say straight away, that I really dislike that i cant use this ships in any other port but Yokosuka... BOOOOO) I dont know what to do with them.

 

First of all the lack of CAMO makes them inferior to regular ships that can mount a camo, so playing them puts you in a slight disadvantage right away.

Not to mention that you are lit up like a Santa in his sledge and therefore get more focus fire.... 

 

But lets take all that aside ... I have a bunch of Kongous and Myokous.... with exactly the same modules/captain skills/consumables.

 

What are you guys doing with your ARP ships? Ignoring them? Playing them for fun? Testing different builds (if so what and with what results)?

Well not much but is fun to use different captain setups just to try things , and id ont find the 3% camo so inferior after all they are free and very welcome 8)

Simply playing them for fun, different builds aren't exactly viable, at least for Takao and Kongo class. Myokos you can to an extent spec into AA or surface combat

 

With Takao you might see some hilarity in secondaries build, with guns opening up at 8km range, going pew pew from these whooping 4 barrels.

I tried a couple of captain builds on my Kongous but at that tier you hardly notice any difference. With Myoko it may be worth trying.

Since I don't like Myoko and already have an Atago, I don't use them at all. Played the Kongous quite a bit, but not anymore. They are just collector's items because I do like the anime (and because they are in the game).

 

I cannot confirm being focussed in battle. I stopped using Yokosuka port so I can hardly distinguish between ARP and normal ships. But even with Yokosuka on I did not notice any specific focus on ARP ships. Their colors and effects even distracted me a bit so that I screwd my aim sometimes.

 

One thing you can actually do well, and which should be worth doing with Takao: you can train captains exceptionally quickly as you swap them without penalty. There are 9 ARP ships. So you can get the 50/100/200% first-win-xp-bonus 9 times a day with the very same captain.

Use the same captain on all ships if you want to get 18pt captain faster.

Takao (Atago clone) is OK. The t7 cruisers are sub-par. Kongo is decent.

Enjoy free ships with free port slots and captains. If you don't like them - choose another port.

I didnt know that I could use one captain on all of them. Thanks for the info!

Doesnt that kinda defeat the purpose .. since character is integrated in the ship? Sorry but I didnt watch the anime myself...

 

I do like them and I do appreciate them. I would like to use them from other ports too.

The good news: We will get a different way to enable these cooperation contents. So you'll most likely be able to use those ships in other ports without a mod.

Same here, but it's unlikely WG will bloat their Gamefolder size with ports that are only used for events and past collabs.

Unless that changes, the master port collection and me will be friends forever.

Gameplay wise, Arpeggio ships act as premium so you can move captains freely. Positive, you can level up them FAST - 9 dailies with all the exp flags and you can get 15lvl in no time, that way I've leveled up Takao.

 

I guess anime purists might find putting Takao captain onboard Kongo heretical, but its certainly doable.

Personally I find Arpeggio voiceovers greatest reward, even though I don't understand what are they squeaking

Ashigara is so great :D Enjoy her voice while drinking energy drinks or espressi. Get hyper while getting hyper

Who wants to play a bright pink warship? Stupid idea. And I am no fan of Anime, either.

The Myoko is just as strong amongst T7 ships as the Atago in T8. Okay maybe the Belfast is better but apart from that i find her the best T7 ship.

At the moment I enjoy the bright colored ships between the 'why so sriously' other ships starting with Takao on Takao upgrading her since I missed out on the 16 point anime captain earlier this year. Then I put her on the other tier 7 ships as well to then have 5 or more games for the captain upgrade. I find the tier 5 give less to capt. upgrades more for fun and I have also a Mr. Siegal in a New York and a Gneisenau to upgrade and after that I might want to upgrade a Kirishima and Nachi to 15.

So one capt for the cruisers and one for the BB s I think is most logic all girls will take forever.

Well, for aestetical purpose you can use mods that make the yokosuka port similar to another one or you can disable arp aestetic so they will appear as normal myoko/kongo/atago with a jap captain.

 

 

For the game, you can use they for fun or mission: you have a mission with "start x Fires" and you don't have firestater in your port? A myoko with demo expert won't be the best but It would be usefull, you Need some money and you don't have a premium ship? T5 is good for farming Credit and t5 BB that won't occupy a slot in the port.

 

Plus, you can make them a bit more competitive with the captains (you can reach 18 point in slow time and you usually don't see a kongo/myoko with 18 point captain on, de facto making your arp better than the average kongo/myoko)

I liked the ARP series. I liked the challenges as well. But to be frankly: I tried the ARP ships a couple of times and got back to grinding the regular lines again. Hardly using the Y-port: the music makes me nervous....

Personally played one game in a couple of them, used the 15 point commander they gave out a while back in ranked with the tier 7 one.

 

Never touched them since.

I use them to play with different builds on the Kongo and Myoko.

 

e.g. the Myoko-class:

 

Haguro -> full AA (+ manual)

Myoko -> medium distance firestarter

Ashigara -> brawler; full secondary + HAS + TAE     (no CE yet)

Nachi -> 'scout'; stealth build + HAS + Vigilance     (atm training Nachi to get CE)

Hi all,

 

Just one small reminder... you guys can always install 2 MODs from Aslain's:

 

  • Nagasaki (Yokosuka) <- Transforms "Yokosuka" port to very beautiful "Nagasaki" port
  • No Manga (by Mebius_lW) <- removes MANGA cammo from all ships that wear them

I quite like the Takao. Don't play her much though since I have a lot of other ships that I also like. Plus I only like to play her with friends and most of my friends aren't at tier 8 yet :(

i mainly collect them cause of voice-overs, since i got nachi i use here voice on every ship :)

Best delicate voice in game.

Currently I play Tirpitz only until I have the Takao.

Afterwards I will mainly "experiment" with the Kongos.

 

Build one on secondaries, one on a main battery build and dunno what else.

Port decos mostly.

 

Also training Takao to 18 points to have her for rankeds alongside my Atago.

Pity we did't get Maya, would be nice for carnival.
