yeah the torpedo arrangement on the PBS is odd and out of step with all German cruisers or Panzerschiffe. The earlier Kreuzers carried 1-2 dozen torps generally amid ship with side rotating launch tubes plus reload torpedoes in armored bunkers. Same with the Hipper and BB planned upgrades .

Fought one in my Fiji last night and chewed it up pretty bad and a citadel as well but she was being focused by half our team! Still will buy it when it arrives just for the challenge if nothing else.

With only six of them in, two turrets, they will probably have to be more accurate than is typical for a battleship - otherwise the lack of battleship armour and cruiser speed will be tricky to compensate for.

why should it be getting BB "accuracy"? its a cruiser after all

Graf Spee is a heavy cruiser. Don't let the name "pocket battleship" trick you, she'd play the same as most other German CAs (with the exception of having bigger guns).

Graff Spee I think will be quite fun to sail, but yeah can't preview her so I would have to go on reviews

It'll sell in huge numbers but likely not be that good as it'll suffer from the usual cruiser issues of being rekted by BB.

 

I predict alot of forum whine over Christmas when she's out.

Especially since people who don't frequent forums or media will still be going on about the 'pocket BB' thingie expecting it to fare better against 'normal BB' then regular cruisers.

From what I can see so far I think WG did Graf Spee well. Its a cruiser no doubt, but that repair and gun caliber more than gives the name "pocket battleship" the weight it deserves

I agree with this. It reflects the common image of the Spee very well.

Probably skipping this one,looks like too high skill celling ship to be effective,already got Torpitz&Spamhorst,so German-crewtrainer checked.

(maybe grabbing it on 30% Sale,but even the Molotov looks more tempting offer than this ship,to me at least)

Flamu says skip it, generally I tend to agree. 

 

The Notser video had better gun performance then I expected though but it's one video from one match. If you could reliable citadel cruisers at around 12km or so it would be an instant buy ofc. But it looks like that's wishful thinking especially considering the few shells in the air. 

 

I'll probably buy Shineyhorse instead, I miss playing her a bit and 30% off is nice. And it's a magical tier 7, the sweet spot in MM.

Seems like you either can make her work or you can't. Reviews say she's a very specialised ship, you can fight against cruisers but you'll struggle against DDs and BBs which is a problem in itself because it somewhat limits your effectiveness. Basically all you can do are things that the Scharnhorst simply does better (and it also got the better matchmaking). Most people critise her bad maneuverability which could be a problem against T6 BBs and will certainly be a big problem when you face T8 BBs (and you're certainly going to face them, thanks to the current MM).

Tbh they are harsh on it mainly because of the dreadful T6 matchmaker. Of course a Scharnhorst is much better, but it also spawns a Colorado or Nagato on the enemy team.

 

Comparing the Spee to an Aoba or a Nürnberg really makes her look much better. I have fought two during the trials and she takes damage like a cruiser all right. But the repair crew, solid armament and torpedoes make for quite a bundle on a T6 cruiser slot. A cruiser in the Battleship meta will hurt one way or another, but she looks perfectly viable.
