Commanders!

The legend is back for some action!

USS Missouri was the setting of the 1992 action thriller "Under Siege" and she's back for some naval combat action in World of Warships!

And that's not all! In the upcoming Update 0.5.14, Commander Steven Seagal will show his true colors as he harnesses a special set of "Heroic Skills" to at his disposal!

Wanna know more? Read on to find out!

What is so special about the USS Missouri ?

The USS Missouri was featured in the 1992 action thriller "Under Siege", starring Steven Seagal as Casey Ryback, an ex-Navy SEAL operator-turned-cook aboard the USS Missouri. Using his legendary martial arts skills and deadly tactics, he single-handed took back the Missouri from the clutches of sinister mercenaries!

In real life, the Iowa-class battleship USS Missouri sits in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, as a WW2 memorial ship.

How to get the USS Missouri

USS Missouri will make her debut in World of Warships as the very first Tier IX Premium Battleship.

However, the USS Missouri, being the special ship that she is, will not come as easily as other Premium ships.

The only way to earn the Missouri is by using your hard earned Free EXPs !

Witness the Heroic Skills of the Seagal!

In the upcoming Update 0.5.14, Commander Steven Seagal will earn a special set of "Heroic Skills". These are Commander skills with boosted performance as compared to regular Commander skills!

  • Expert Loader: -75% to reload time when shell type is switched (Ordinary Skill gives -50%)
  • Expert Marksman: +3 deg/s to the traverse speed of guns with a caliber of up to 139mm. +1 deg/s to the traverse speed of guns with a caliber above 139mm, while ordinary skill gives +2.5 and +0.7

A former Navy SEAL, cook, and now a warship commander. Don't miss this chance to recruit a legend into your ranks!

Action Station!

All right, this is kinda different.

- A tier IX premium? :amazed:

- Specially boosted Steven Seagal-skills? (And has anyone, ever, chosen the 'Expert Loader' skill for one of their captains?)

This is my "not totally convinced" face...:sceptic:

I would like to use those skills, but not with that voice. Forget it. Or record it again with contemporary equipment.

I like it on some of my sneaky IJN cruisers.

Free XP necessary to unlock it, eh?

Well, I am sitting on roughly 430k of that since I use it only sparingly and if the Missouri is a fullfledged premium ship with increased credit gain, free captain switch and the tier IX boni for its permanent camouflage, then I suppose I don't mind spending some for that.

Not sure how I feel about the improved captain skills. Expert loader is largely useless since a player with some skills can predict what ammunition type he needs anyway and when one couldn't because SURPRISE then firing your current set of ammunition and switching after that still provides better overall damage than switching (assuming the guns are already loaded, otherwise the wait until they are reloaded and then switching is just decreasing the dpm even more!).

edit://

I'd say we're looking at around 250k to 350k free XP to unlock the Missouri. At the typical exchange rate for doubloons to free XP, that'd cost around 35 to 45 bucks which is roughly in the pricing segment for hightier premium ships. Probably more towards the more expensive end of my estimation since it's tier IX and a BB though.

Assuming the free XP is the single most important part to unlock the ship. But I doubt they'd have you use free XP to unlock missions that one theoretically might fail to complete on time ... the ensuing forum rampage from people who think they got suckered into wasting free XP would be immense.

I dread the EU version of the mission. Hope it will be one of those very rare centralized events.

We also have this article, if a bit trimmed down.

Confirms that we get it with Free XP as well.

Nah, they will start with freeXP earned by T10 ships only, downgrade to T9+ after enough complaints by the player base.

The Missouri will be as much "premium" as the ARP weeb ships. Selling a true T9 premium would go against their very own business model.

Still, having (hopefully) decent captain trainer for major nation doesn't hurt.

As long as it won't be a "kill X number of enemy ships within Y number of days" kind of mission, it hopefully won't be too bad.:panic_fish: But I think Wargaming has seen the error of those kind of missions. A dingload of players trying to earn a duckload of free xp, that I can deal with.

This forum really needs a dark background option. A nice grey tone does wonders. Bright colours aren't immidiate eye cancer (or in some cases almost unreadable) and it's also easier on the eyes instead of looking at a bright white background all the time.

I would not be excited too much about the free xp thingy... as far as I know WG "different market policies" I can easily see completely different way to obtain it in EU.

(kill 100 of each nations T9+ ships or buy a token completing nation 20E piece comes to mind....)
