ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain

I'm feeling the pain on this one now. I'm very close to finishing the Takao mission and have the kill requirements for all nations met except Russians where I only have four kills it's really frustrating!

Try it, using an external image hosting site. There you can upload images in full size. There are many free upload sites around. Google some.

Well... on te one side I am happy - as farming Takao-chan took me exactly a week

On the other side do not understand why is requirement for Nachi mission T8 too? And as I am now sitting on 16/20/4/18 kills I am not sure I will even finish this mission... (another one is Myoko where I am at 115/500 - my only T8 are Soviet cruisers).

But I do not complain at all... have Haguro and Ashigara and can live without other two.

Yeah my Chapaev is very securely tied to the dock at the moment, tried playing my Kiev earlier this evening and the amount of focus I got (even for a DD) was just insane SOOO MANY SHELLS lol. On the other hand, Royal Navy ships seem to attract less attention since people are too busy farming kills on other nations to give you much notice.

I hate that moment when you look the teams composizione and you see that, again, you have two chapa and a Kutuzov in the team and no one in the enemy one, it happens almost 2 match on 3 for me...

Two sessions without getting any Russian kills. They are so scarce and so much chased (I experienced that in my only Kiev game) when they appear that it's almost impossible to get a kill. Last night I had a game where two cruisers and a destroyer chased down a guy in a Chapaev to one of the corners of the map ignoring the rest of the battle. With my North Carolina I've citadeled a few Russian cruisers, just to watch any random guy getting the last Health points for the kill. It's quite disturbing.

When I unlocked Takao (50 wins), my standing was 7 Soviet ships sunk. Now my plan for further progress is to use Takao in suicide rushes to get rest of soviet kills for Nachi. In fact my second battle in Takao get me +1 (at 8 kills now) and third got me close to killing another one.

 

In my opinion this mission is badly designed. It is not really fun to do, for person who wants the Nachi and it also disrupts gameplay for the rest of players who do not even care about getting ARP Ships (a lot of people focus soviet ships even when there are more important targets, chasing soviet ships around the map, suicide attacks, not playing objectives, not playing for win and people in soviet ships having very hard time).

I did the Nachi mission a week ago and now I have all ARPs.

Play CVs t8 9 10...i had 4 to go and it took forever then i played my CVs whips! had it done.Russian DDs easy to get as CV hehe...Fire them up.

For the 90% of us not playing CVs this mission is a pain. Yes, it's just for a clone-sqeaky-voiced Myoko that I'll probably never use that much but still want for my collection.

It might be a month and a half left but I still hate the way it makes me concentrate a little extra on RU ships.

Well, as promised, I've been purposely taking my Kutuzov out lately in order to help the community complete this mission.  (Shame on those of you who complain about it and then refuse to take your own RU ships out!)  Unfortunately, in all my attempts to give some lucky devil on the enemy team a +1 to his counter, I've survived and won every match.  Despite always winding up in T10 matches, I have managed to add a couple of +'s to my counter and generally end at the top, if not in the top 3, of our teams xp board.  What do I have to do?....suicide rush?  Seriously, for those of you wanting to complete this mission, get off your arses and start taking your RU ships out of port.  Use the fact that you're a wanted target to you and your team's advantage.

Well, I'm not going to make it easy for you!  I will always do my best to win a match but, seriously, here I am in my little ol' T8 and all these big bad T10 BBs can't kill me?  Jeez!

I take my kutuzov for a daily victory as well for the benefit of the masses. But i don't find myself focused any more than usual. Don't know what everyone is complaining about. Either i only find enemies with no interest in the mission, or i'm always focused as much as other ru ships now

Most discussion about the new ARP missions is about the tier requirement for ARP Takao. Not so much about the actual requirements. In the end each game that you start in either your tier 9 or 10 ship will leave you without progress or one more step closer to the 50 victory threshold. And that outcome is largely dependent of the teams then your own expertise (be that good or bad). So its dependent on you grinding your way through battles and paying the repair bills. Fine.

 

Next to the unique chance to get the ARP Takao (your free chance for an Atago clone) there is another ship that has never been available in Europe: ARP Nachi.

 

Maybe less interesting for some of the playerbase (just another Myoko clone) she is the last of the sisters to be available and therefore a must for some to have. And unfortunately again one of the, potential, most frustrating mission. Having to kill 20 ships of each basic nations (excluding the UK) makes this a potential SK fest like we had during the first ARP missions in January this year. But now 2-3 tiers higher and based on nations instead of ship class. The negative feedback resulted in WG to change the following ARP missions to a more conservative dmg and hit based requirement. But no more.

 

Sure at the start each kill (ex. British) will net you progress but in the end you will find out that while some countries will rapidly advance one nation will start lagging behind (worried about the Russians). People holding back shots to assure their kill, finding out that the game you just started does not have an eligible enemy to kill makes it just a repeat of the failure we had in January - February but at an even higher tier.

 

My only hope is that not too much people will be overly interested in the Nachi that they will focus more on SK then "normal".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yes i have same problem Killing KSM IJN and USN is not a problem but I think i have only killed 1 Russian ship. I was playing Russian ship in games but found that the whole enemy team was basically heading in my direction and getting focus fired. I now dont play the Russian ships for that reason and i think most others are the same.
