ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain

Two full months to complete the mission guys, why are you panicking?

Simple. There is on average 1 russian player on the enemy team per game (at least from experience). Considering that there are 15 players per team, if you wipe out the enemy, you have 1/15 chance of getting that kill. With 20 kills necessary, that equals 20*15=300 games expected, assuming you wipe out the enemy entirely every match. I don't have the full two months, so I need to play about 7 games every single day. Given that I have a deadline on the 15th of december, I'm going to have a very hard time getting all those games in.

So you might not get the ship. The ship is completely optional. What does your schedule have to do with gauging the mission requirement in a video game? Going by that logic, if you were a student, you could farm five ships easily probably. Would that suddenly change the requirements to "easy", even though they remain the same? I hope you see what I'm trying to say.

1-I don't even have the required ship to do the mission with. Would it be rational to argue that an arbitrary mission's requirements are somehow flawed or unfair based on that? Of course not.

2-If a certain project goes into place (chances are it will), I will probably have about an hour a day to play the game. The same question as above.

I mean, the whole notion seems like some kind of equality of outcome policy... which doesn't make sense for something that has requirements connected to it.

This isn't a premium ship, just a standard t7 cruiser. All the other ships, even the takao, are easier to get than needing to play about 300 games. The idea behind the task is to make it difficult but very likely achievable for an average person. 300 games is not. Even Takao would only take you about 100.

And the deadline had to do with "why are you panicing?"

The Nachi mission is the only one I have a problem with, because it is clearly faulty.

20/20 USN, 20/20 IJN, 11/20 USSR, 17/20 DKM and getting severely burnt out on the game. XD 39/50 on Takao though which is an upside!

Exactly. ... And for me .. condition "destroy 20 U.S.S.R ships" is pure frustration. ... But ok, life is hard sometimes, so if I won´t get ARP Nachi ... who cares.

This doesn't change the fact that the mission design is severely flawed and completing it - relatively hard for all the wrong reasons. Getting X kills is bad enough by giving an incentive to withhold fire (you don't think you can kill the enemy with this salvo so - if there are other people shooting - you wait for someone to reduce the hp a bit so that you may claim the kill). But this here actually takes a lot of the control away from the player. Chasing certain ships for the mission is bad for the team. Being the main focus of people who want to complete the mission is bad for experience in these ships. And the possibility of a streak of bad luck (sovietless games) that prevent you from even theoretical chance of advancing your mission is not something that should happen.

Possibly the most severe problem here is that this mission risks making an already not too popular tree of ships even less played. And not necessarily only for its duration. Those aware of WHY they suddenly are shot at more may use it to lure enemies into ambushes or just leave the ships in question in port for two months - but people not into similar reflections may just decide that the ships suck or that they suck in these ships - and they'll just abandon soviet navy for good, taking away from game's diversity.

Completely agree, Nachi is the one ship in this event I want and the qualifying requirements are virtually impossible,as I cannot control what nations will be in my matches, then if I can kill them before the other people do. Please do not do this wg, not all of us can stay at home all day and thrash this to a solution. Rather than individual nations, just make it a "kill 80 ships" mission and be done with it.

1. Get Taiho or Hakuryu

2. Finish all missions within 3-4 days.

Really???

What about 200 torpedo hits? :P

Just now ...

IJN - 20/20

US - 17/20

USSR - 1/20 (! ... yeah, only one USSR ship eliminated so far ... !)

DKM - 16/20

... so ... it is all about USSR ships. If there are not any USSR ships in opponents´ team ... how to reach the quota "20" ?

its kinda a bad solution credit wise but if you struggle:

- get a russian ship

- play coop

- sink your mirror

- profit

OK, as starter of topic my progress and observations after my last match on Sunday (only play weekends):

Initially played with my new stock Baltimore (only found out the lower tier requirements after first day) and bagged enough wins (50+% win rate- at 30 victories now) but almost no kills. Baltimore is tanky but not a dps cannon with slow reloads. Must say that with 2 new upgrades (and halfway to the last) its gets better (less worse). Captain is close to its 14th point so CE is also making progress.

Saturday afternoon I switched to tier 8 and i picked a fast reload cruiser (initially Chapayev) but being Russian attracts a lot of unwanted love.. So my pick for now is a Mogami with 155 and the kills are improving.

But only one Russian kill yet. And the bad part is that i lost just 1 other kill because of a Bismarck volleying down my close to death burning Russian target it would have only been my potential 2nd kill. Most of my games there is no Russian enemy. When there is one or 2 enemy Russian ships they end op on the other side and they get killed out of my sight before I can even touch them.

This is really bothering me and even with 1,5 month to go I will not reach the 20 kills with this progress. And I work hard (power leveling my Mogami captain to his CE skill) . But it feels just unfair that my success is beyond my own means to controll..

Small update about progress ...  IJN - 20/20, US - 20/20, USSR - 8/20  (.. yeah, finally I made some steps towards the quota "20", but still ... there are not many USSR ships in battles ... ), and DKM - 20/20.

Other ARP mssions already done (.. Takao looks quite nice actually ..), so .. only ARP Nachi remains to be accomplished.

Goodluck to all of you with your missions!

20/13/10/20 for me.  Still don't know why my USN is lagging so much but 10 in 9 days is still fine.

I might resurrect this topic at the beginning of December (half way point) and see how many of the people who were complaining haven't finished yet...

Made some progress with the grind.

US 20/20

IJN 20/20

KM20/20

RU 14/20

Still need 139 Torpedo hits, but the rest of the missions was completed last weekend.

I guess, i'll be chewing on the Torpodo mission for a while...

Completed them all RU on 6/20 and that was in the first 3 days nothing since then. US/IJN has 4 complete lines of ships, german BBs are really popular atm but yeah RU are scarce.
