ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain

It was hell, but finally finished with the russians, it took:

 

tashkent 101 battles - 9 kills

after that I recived the takao and stopped with tashkent

takao 50 battles - 11 kills

 

You can easily see which ship is better for the task, I'm sure you can get better results with BBs, easier to delete those pesky kutuzovs.

Got it! Finally.. real pain.

Now I can flame against allies running after RU ships :P

No more this kind of missions, thanks.

Well I'm close to killing all the nations at half way but I need 11 RU ships. This could become problematic if others are in a similar position.

 

Might have to organise a RU sailing contest or something.

Especially note that all the missions give 10 point captains. And can be completed in maybe 110 battles, if you're halfway decent. Playing whatever you want however you want. And not chasing phantom Russian ships.

Congrats with your Nachi Baron! It must feel good to finally be done with that.

It is strange that the Nachi mission is so much harder than the Takao. On the Nachi mission I am not even half ways there. And with that RU requirement it will be a small miracle if that mission is completed.

Good luck with another month of grinding :playing:

 

I am happy I don't have to do another stupid 200 torpedo T6+ hit mission to complete the set (I have only Mutsuki suitable for that, so it would be extremely boring),

- I got Kirishima in June just for 2000 main gun hits using any T5+ ship... 

 

Inconsistency with setting mission requirements on EU server is amazing, gently speaking. :P

 

And, for example, on Asia server it was even funnier:

"On top of that, in case you have not played WoWs before the 29th of February this year, you will get the ARP Kirishima AND Commander Iona for free, if you research any Tier 5 ship before 1st of May this year."

 

 

Been playing the Mitsuki and it's actually been quite relaxing, up to 141 already, though I had about 70 from just playing and completing the other missions.

 

I've seen the US ARP missions too, I wish we had a month to get 100 xp and all the ships with 10 point captains. Makes you wonder what information WG EU uses to determine the mission requirements, since it's clearly not by listening to the player base. Thing is this isn't even a new thing. Anyone who has or does play WoT knows that WG EU just loves to screw over their players. Take a look at the recent premiums for example.

And they get 2 more port slots since they could already get the Nachi and Takao before.

You can easily see which ship is better for the task, I'm sure you can get better results with BBs, easier to delete those pesky kutuzovs.

 

Takao is much more effective than Amagi or NCal. I can't say about Tirpitz or Bismarck - they should be better because they have "finishing tools" at close distance.

Generally BB are not as effective as cruisers or gunboat DD because it is the last hit which counts. You can double-citadel the Kutuzov and still some gunboat will kill him, not you... Also, you need to be able to move fast across the map, without kiting all the enemy fleet with you ;)

Takao armed with echo, charging into the smoke was my solution to the problem.

This just would limit the mission to T9+ players. It is still at the same difficulty - you just have to play ~100 games on average to get 50 wins. Nothing hard, just takes time and is boring. Even if you are a potato with 33% winrate it will be just 150 games not 100. In turn, in one of the above posts you have example of a unicum player who needed 200 games in T8+ to get the Nachi :hide_turtle:

Personally, I'd rather have easy and boring than something completely based on RNG. The feeling of accomplishment I might get for completing the pain that is ARP Nachi mission in no way outweighs the irritation I got every single battle with no Russian ships on the red team.

Nobody complained that Takao mission at T9 was 'hard' - the problem was requiring to have T9 or T10 ships to get T8 cruiser.

 

For Nachi it is a bit different, but still the main issue is T8-T10 requirement to complete T5-T7 ARP set, which everywhere else in the world was given to players having tiers 4-6.

A derivative of the absurdly high tier requirement is rarity of RU ships which have the same number of kills required as for 3-4x more abundant navies, so the mission could be as well reduced to 'kill 20 Russian ships' only.

and he's not the only one. i played more than 200 games at tier +8 this month and still i'm at 16 kills... the requirements are just stupids, but milions of people allready said this.

 

btw, i'm a BBs and CAs player, and i feel who the montana is my best solution for delete russians CAs. really, i just one-shooted 2 chapayev from 18+km yesterday.

Much better play Tier8 ships because in range you can find also Budyonny, Molotov and Ognevoi. After that feel confortable with the ship you find more suitable for you.

In my opinion Takao is a beast: nice guns to steal *coff coff* mean get the kill, torps and good concealment that allows not getting too much attention from enemy team while heading towards the target.

I made a rough guess when I got Nachi using a stats site, and found out I got it with about 180 tier 8 and 9 games.

 

Now my impression (no data about that) is that had the Russians not been required (or changed for a global amount of ships) I could have done it with the first 100 games.

Woohooo finally!
Big thanks to Yuugumo, I used all my luck for december and managed to kill 3 Ru ships with her in 3 different battles today.

Well oddly I went out in my Chapy this morning. Did 60k damage, sunk 3 ships and survived. Didn't get focussed or even shot at much. I felt like saying "hello!!! Russian ship here!! Shoot me!"

 

So I'm doing my bit...

 

​That's weird, I took out my Leander into a tier VIII game and brought a Molotov to low health. When I asked for someone else to shoot him none of the higher tier ships wanted anything to do with him. I ended up having to kill him myself and I wasn't happy about it.
