Indeed, the Russian ship players you mostly see at the moment are experts at disappearing. So they do well and us hunters become more frustated.

If we have any russian ships at enemy team but I have more battles without any RU ships which is also frustrating knowing you just "waste" time.

I'm still on 6 Russian kills and have been since the start. Saw 1 Russian ship today and as she slipped beneath the sea my salt for WG grew. I didn't even get near the ship in my DD. End of the day if I don't get the mission done then so be it. Why wouldn't WG change it if it's such a problem with the lack of Russian ships around. Better to have happy customers rather than salty one's surely.

You would think so. However the whole thing is very strange. Such pain is entirely predictable and will get worse when new lines come out, so more people will play the new DDs and not Russians.

Heh. I just noticed that some skillfull players take advantage of this stupid mission design. So I am complaining about this mission mostly, and only notice that not all Kutuzovs are "feeding themselves" to poor souls grinding the mission.

And no, RU cruisers are not easy to kill at all, when someone knows how to use them (and is not isolated, for example)...

Yes this, Last weekend I killed an Udeloi (tier 9 Rus dd) in the last second of a (lost) Match. He was teamed with 2 other ships actively baiting players to kill him. Which succeeded very well, therefore the loss of the game. In the end he withdrew to the map edge with a bit of health left. Unlucky for him I was at the same edge (with full concealment Balti) and radar killed him. He and his teammates were all tier 1 ranked players..

I lost 2 Karma point in that match while still being top 3 of my losing team, maybe a sore sunk winner :)

On the other hand a 2nd kill was a sportive Leningrad that just sailed in the wrong channel towards my 10 Atago guns aiming at him. I thanked him for the kill with a nice "Your welcome" reply from him.

So next to the people that play Russian ships to increase the play ability (or simply play like there is no mission) of this ill-designed mission there are also griefers that abuse it to make the awfull experience even worse.

Managed to get lucky and complete the mission over the weekend. Glad it's over now since I can catch up on the torpedo mission. Keep at it guys, you can complete it, there's still a month to go. I'll keep playing Soviet ships as well to help keep the numbers up.

Good luck with another month of grinding :playing:

I am happy I don't have to do another stupid 200 torpedo T6+ hit mission to complete the set (I have only Mutsuki suitable for that, so it would be extremely boring),

- I got Kirishima in June just for 2000 main gun hits using any T5+ ship...

Inconsistency with setting mission requirements on EU server is amazing, gently speaking. :P

And, for example, on Asia server it was even funnier:

"On top of that, in case you have not played WoWs before the 29th of February this year, you will get the ARP Kirishima AND Commander Iona for free, if you research any Tier 5 ship before 1st of May this year."

Finaly done, and its sitting in my port:)

fvk1vtpgx5smxu5bj174.jpg

Last kill was a Tashkent whit torps, scored whit the Takao, the game itself turned in a fine salt-fest,a BB player wanted to "teach"(tons of salt-mode) me how to cruiser...because i wasnt hunting DDs.

(out of my 4 kills 2 was DDs,and the first blood was my kill on the Tashkent, and his only kill was ramming his copy in an Izumo...)

Sometimes the mad tactics this causes can be fun. I sent more tirpitz into the midst of a clump of islands seeking a damaged Tashkent. Enemy BBs scattered madly fearing torps. Died but they were all hopelessly positioned now. Somehow the Tashkent emerged within my secondary range and died.Even had a torp hit. for the torp mission.

(Most other games not so fun though)

Really congrats man, I feel your joy, I finished with that on Sunday, ufff.  :tea_cap:

Looks like, because you're very good player (unicum rating on warship.today), it took you only ~300 games (2/3 of that = ~200 in T8-T9). You played on average 10 games = mere few hours every single day in your T9 cruisers, Tirpitz, NCal, Chapa & Fubuki.

Eeeasy mission, isn't it?

Finally, after 29 days

The last two victims were lower tier (a Schors and a Leningrad), something I hardly saw in the last month.

As an epilogue, to the one that thought of that mission

Well, for me the initial Takao-mission was more toxic(rage-sold the Roon over itXD-tons of free xp on mudules 500gold on cap, etc).

The first 10-15 kill came easy on the "russian ship"(or something)-event,after that it was 1/every 3-4 day,and even those were mostly DDs,cruisers are "secured" too fast nowdays.

Still stuck on needing 5 kills.  Managed to put 2 torps into one of the tier 8 cruisers but someone else nailed him.  Then I hit a broadsided Schchchohrhohrs with AP for 2 citadels wrecking him but before my second salvo could finish him off someone else got him.

With the IJN DDs coming I expect there to be even fewer RU ships and tier 8 has sucked my will to play.  If it happens it happens, but I couldn't care less now and I'm barely playing at all these days.

Allright! I managed to get my number up to 8/20 for the RU ships. Time to engage the insane and intensified antisocial kill securing mode in all my T8+ ships! :red_button:  If WG wants me to behave like a social parasite, let them have it!!!

Such a horrid mission, I see one Russian ship a game if I am lucky, usually it's one in every three. It's pretty much a case of ignore everything to kill them or fail.

I posted a question regarding the completion rate of this mission now that the RU ships event is long over in the Questions of the community thread. Still no answer (shocking, I know).

This mission is a brilliant idea. WG EU can't do anything about the Russian bias in ship stats, so they balance it by mentally conditioning all hardcore anime fanboys to always kill the Russian ships first.

After two weeks without RU kills I accidentally killed two (2!) RU ships with my Tirpitz bringing my total RU kills up to 7. And that was without thinking at all about killing specific nations. But this kind of mission sucks, and especially with the thought that this is (probably) the last of the APR mission, thus the last chance to get the ships.

Whole worshiping of 'the completion rate' is misleading. It is not only important how many people reach the goal - first, one has to decide, what is the target group for the particular mission.

For example, you can design a mission like "hit 1 ship with your main gun in Tier 9 or 10" and you will have very high completion rate at the start, and possibly reasonable amount of people (everybody having T9-T10 ships or being able to acquire them in time) will eventually do the mission as well. But, so what?

The T7 ARP mission was on EU server targeted only to T8+ players, and the obvious question is WHY ONLY TO THEM - because on all other servers it was T4-T6 challenge. "Completion rate" is not an answer here.

No wonder there is no answer from WG regarding this. MrConway was sent to gulag for lowering the requirements on the Takao mission, and no one else of them do dare to touch the Nachi mission for fear of ending up there too.

I don't think lowering the requirements of a mission is in the hands of Mr Conway.

Certainly absurd EU requirements weren't GLOBAL decision. All other servers had much easier tier limit.

It has been answered.  When they changed the requirements from using tier IX+ ships to VIII+ they said that they would not be making any further changes.  You not liking their answer doesn't change the fact that it has been answered.

If you're talking about the 'response' from Nov 14 now, you are probably kidding, right?

THE ONLY reason which was mentioned then by MrConway was that "good completion rate" - and I wrote many times (also today) that this is answer to completely different question = not an answer at all.

After Nov 14 we wrote hundreds of posts, which ALL remained without ANY response from WG.

In other words, "because we did so" is not an answer. This forum, as it seems, provides only illusion of contact with WG. One-directional flow of information we already have on the website.

Yeah. While we're derping around in T8 missions with impossible to find russian ships on the red team - NA gets this:

Arpeggio Challenge 4

Earn 30,000 base XP over any amount of Random or Co-Op battles.

• Must have completed Arpeggio Challenge 3
• Must use a ship tier VI or higher
• Once per account

Arpeggio challenge 1, 2 and 3 require 8, 12 and 20k xp under the same conditions. So get 70k xp at T6+ in random/co-op, in a month, and get the Nachi. With a 10 point captain. And with the Ashigara (and another 10 point captain). And the Myoko and Haguro, and all the four Kongo-class, all with 10 point captains.

So, WG EU cares about its customer base, does it? Yeah, right.
